I'd wanted to replace a cheap wreath I've put on my front door for over 3 years. Previously, I've done a felt pumpkin for halloween, and a protesting turkey for Thanksgiving

Happy Monday lovely people.

Wow, it's still setting in. My pattern line has been funded! So super excited about that. Thank you all! Also, the exclusive design I created has ALSO been funded!

Now, I want to be able to make this in all the sizes, so please help with that. My last and most ambitious stretch goal is to take the sizing of my pattern line to 60 bust! So, all you seamstress folks out there know anyone who says "they don't make sewing patterns in my size" take this message to them, share the kickstarter on social media, and even word of mouth! It's all helpful!

Garment Restoration: 1920s Halloween Dress

Good morning lovely people. Sorry about the lack of posts this week. I'm scrambling to get money together and I'm sure you all know how that is. 

As such, I'm having a fire sale in my etsy store, primarily on clothing. Lots of dresses marked down over 50%. I will also be listing many more vintage patterns over the week. I need to get $500 together by Monday. If you can help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Poor Thanksgiving, seems like a second rate holiday. Never gets its time like it should. It's like the sibling who shares a room with an older sibling, or a person who has their birthday near a major holiday, like Christmas, like me. Thanks Christmas!

Some progress

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't been posting much these last couple of weeks. I've got two dress commissions, a side project for some friends, getting holiday things together and just coming home in the cold weather and wanting a hot cup of java and a warm blanket...

Cold weather does that to me every time. I just love snuggling beneath the blankets with my cat nestled on my feet and a warm cap on my head and I'm a happy gal.

Other than that I have been working on things.

Good morning everyone. I hope things are going well and you are gearing up for the weekend. I sure am. Last night I stopped at Target and picked up some tops that I could do that alteration neckline thing to again. This time they were long sleeved and perfect to wear with my winter things.

Speaking of winter things, or things for that matter, I don't have many.

My first bias cut skirt, and a vacation.

I have this bias cut skirt I got a long time ago at Macy's for a song. It's an Eddie Bauer, and it's black linen, fully lined. I remember wearing it the other night to Cicada club and just loving the way it swooshed and galloped as I walked. Of course a lot of that was because of the weight of the fabric, and even the lining, but it felt so feminine and sexy.

Then I got to thinking, why don't I ever make my own bias cut items?

Well, as I'm sure you all know, it takes up mega tons of fabric. Mega tons is an understatement, shit load would be more accurate.

I was such a bad girl this Christmas. 

I generally don't buy a lot of things because I don't feel the need to splurge just because of the 'tis the season' mantra going on around. I *do* however love to shop. At the mall? No. I'm not insane. I hate the mall during regular times! Why is it people always stroll in the mall and block the flow of traffic. They just slow down to the point of a crawl with their strollers and seventeen children. But I digress..

I decided to splurge on some things that I wanted just because.

I generally don't get gifts. I do an illustrated Holiday card and send it out to all my family and friends. This year I didn't get a chance to do that, so I'm gift-less to other folks. Perhaps I'll send a 'just because' card later in the year. So it's understandable that I didn't get and goodies. I did get the classic $10 in a  card from Granny. I love my Granny.
