Bunny Blues

This week at As You Like It Challenge we're asking what your 2 favourite colour combos are.  I love pastels, and in particular purple, pink and blue, but as I had to pick only two, I opted for pink and blue for this cute baby bunny card because I love the contrast of the two together.

Just a Note Teddy

This week at As You Like It Challenge we want to know if you prefer patterned papers or plain (which you can ink or emboss yourself). I'm definitely a fan pretty patterned papers, particularly florals, and for today's card I've used some pretty citrus colours to match the colours in my image.

Just a Quokka Note

I'm on a mission to make a small bundle of cards that I can gift to my Mother-in-Law for her to use when she writes to her friends.  I thought it best to keep them fairly flat so they're not too expensive for posting.

Today's is a 'just a note' card featuring one of Amanda Jayne Designs' adorable new quokka images.  I've used the little guy carrying the pencil to make it look like he's the one writing the note!

I typed and foiled the text, but as usual it's challenging to photograph the shimmer of the foil, so I've taken another photo at an arty angle which shows it a little better.

A well used brush is a good thing

I love this little meecie holding his paintbrush. He's a lot dinkier than I thought he was going to be, and the sentiment text is miniscule, but he's perfect for a little note card.  I've doodled around the edge of my image panel and framed him with some plaid papers in matching colours.  For a bit of added interest, I've rounded the corners of my card.

Water-coloured on Langton Watercolour paper with Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers:

  • Mouse: Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Tea Dye
  • Grass: Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss
  • Sky: Tumbled Glass
  • Reds: Candied Apple, Barn Door, Aged Mahogany

Notecards

I made these little notecards a while ago as a present, but I don't think I've shared them yet.  I made them in different colours, and made matching envelopes, and a little pouch for them to sit in.

Horace

We're looking for your favourite colour combo at As You Like It Challenge this fortnight and despite the regular appearance of purple, my ultimate favourite combo is pink and blue.  I love both colours but think pastel shades of this combo really complement each other. I have lots of papers in these colours and although most of my puppy image is fur, I have also managed to squeeze both of my chosen colours into my image.  I'm also using my favourite fur colour combo of Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo and a spot of Gathered Twigs for shade.

Just a little note to say ...

This is another sample from my pull-out feature in Papercraft Essentials issue 135 featuring Jasmine Texting from Lili of the Valley and Time For Tea Cottage papers from Nitwits.

I love this simple layout with the quarter circle panel, although I did get in a bit of a mess while distressing the edges of the watercolour paper which just seems to dissolve into a fine dust when it's rubbed with the distressing tool blade!  And I'm not exactly one for housework.  A house becomes a home when you can write 'I love you' in the dust on the furniture!
