  • Penguin: Tattered Rose, Hickory Smoke
  • Mouse: Pumice Stone

  • Sky: Tumbled Glass, Broken China
  • Reds: Abandoned Coral, Festive Berries, Fired Brick

One of my Peeps

An uber clean and simple card from me today. Considering there are only 3 colours on this image, it still took quite a while to colour!  The chicks are ever so slightly different shades because I used different under-coats on each of them to try to make them look more individual!  I'm not sure it achieved much because they look the same now!

Celebration Tilda

It's an easy challenge at As You Like It Challenge this fortnight, because we want you to use your two most favourite embellishments.  I think mine are pearls & flowers since they feature on most of my cards, although I also like ribbon and dies which have also sneaked into this one too.

I have flat-backed pearls in loads of colours and love colour matching them to my card.  Here I've used pale blue ones to match my girlie's dress.  Yup, she's another new Tilda called Celebration, and I've teamed her with my favourite Maja Design papers. The shape of the card has been cut using a Go Kreate nestie, which is probably my favourite card-base shape.

Mountain Lily

Hope you're all having a good weekend. Today's card features the adorable Mountain Lily from The Stamp Basket.  I think that this is the first time I've used this image and I really like her.

I wasn't sure if this was a Christmas image because of the bell on her wings, but I decided that she could be either depending on the colour scheme and accessories, so I've stayed away from snowflakes and festive colours.

I've used a blue and brown colour scheme (the ribbon is a rich chocolate brown, not black as it appears in the photo).  The matting card is also a kraft colour brown but it is a shimmery paper, although again this doesn't show up much in the photo.

I've sneaked in some lace under the ribbon and a bow which is held on with a pearl brad.

My typed sentiment has been cut out with a Notables die on which I've then punched a hole at one end to create a small tag.

Let's Celebrate

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Stampfairy are sponsoring Creative Inspirations where the theme this week is 'Celebrations'.  It's also the mid-way point of our 'Zoo Animals' challenge at ABC Christmas Challenge so I'd thought that I'd make a card that combines both challenges.

Lisa's Celebration Card

I wanted to make a card for a sweet lady who has recently been promoted.  It is also her birthday on Monday, but I wanted this card to be a celebration card for her promotion.

I've used lots of my favourite things on this card; a Stampfairy image of a little cheerleader bear (I thought this was quite appropriate for a celebration),  a fancy shape, some glitter, pretty papers, pearls and flowers.

As with most of my favourite cards, I got carried away and decorated the inside with a complementary image of Linda Cheerleader bear sitting down (maybe she's worn herself out with all that jumping around!).

I even made a custom sentiment just for this card.  Hope she likes it!!!

Herb Patriot

I've been inspired by a few challenges in blogland this week, and have used my little Herb Patriot image from Stamp Fairy to create a card to share today.

Sparkle Recipie

The theme this week at Stamp Fairy is "Sparkle, use 3 pattern papers and use 2 dies or punches".  For my card I've used Lenny Cupcakes (flipped the image) and used a Springtime green colour theme which is a break from all my usual pinks and lilacs.  For the sparkle, I've glittered the balloon, cupcake and party hat, and added some large and small flat backed pearls in Olive colours.  The 3 papers are Limeade from Summertime Designs and they're really beautiful for a green card. I find green hard to work with because it is not my favourite colour, but these papers really gave me some much needed inspiration.  It's a really lovely shade of green too, I know it sounds silly, but when I'm working with a colour that isn't my favourite, I need as much motivation as I can get!  Anyway, as soon as I saw these ones, I just had to try them out.  I used my nestie lacey circle die and a small flower punchie as my two die/punches.

Please pop on over to the Stamp Fairy challenge blog to see the beautiful creations by the other members of the Design Team, and also to enter our sparkle recipie challenge.

Also, while I've still got your attention, don't forget to check out the fab images at Stamp Fairy shop. There is a new release out today as it's Monday, and as usual they're uber cute and I can't decide which one I like best (all of them I think!)  I can just imagine them peeking over a large text sentiment, or decorating the inside of a card peeking over a blank insert for the verse etc. So cute.

Double Take

I don't usually go for green, but got a lovely mint green coloured Promarker for Christmas from my lovely hubby so I've pulled out some green papers from my stash and given it a go!  I guess I did fall at the last hurdle and sneak some pink accents in there with the accessories.
