Sweet Holiday Wishes from Purple Onion Designs

It's the last day of the annual Purple Onion Designs Holiday sale. Take advantage of the discount before it's too late. 

After stamping Polar (bear), various images from the Candyland Treats set onto Copic friendly cardstock, I masked the bear and lollipops in order to blend on spun sugar and festive berries distress ink for the background leaving a snow bank at the bottom. I cut the panel out with a stitched edge die and colored the various images with Copic markers, covering the lollipops with crystal glaze for shine. The sentiment from the Santa's Sentiments set was stamped directly onto the panel using Versamark ink, then white heat embossed. Lastly I added a smattering of  'candy' clay pieces.

It's Cold Outside { Annual Purple Onion Designs Holiday Sale}

The background was prepared by blending on tumbled glass and broken china distress ink onto a stitched edge panel. I cut a snow bank from white linen cardstock with a die and stamped the sentiment from the previously released Merriest City Sentiment set onto it using pure poppy ink. I attached the image piece with foam dimensionals and splattered on a mixture of white acrylic paint and water with a small fan brush to represent snow. I then added another sentiment from the Holiday Blurbs set that was stamped with pure poppy ink and fussy cut out.

Today I am featuring a card using images from the Whispering Pines collection. 

After cutting the oval panel with a PTI die and I blended on antique linen distress oxide ink around the edges. I stamped the Camp Fire from an older release, then Mack (bear) and Katie (squirrel). All images were colored with a combo of Copic and Caliart markers. The image piece was attached to a patterned paper background with a layer of craft foam. Lastly I added the holly cluster and a preprinted sentiment for a vintage card.

Today I am featuring a card using images from the Whispering Pines collection. 

After stamping Elsa (bunny), Buck (fox) and the Fire Barrel onto Copic friendly cardstock, I colored with Copic markers using soft colors then fussy cut out. For the background I used a die from the Picket Fence Studios Slim Line Die Cutting System to create the cut out. To fill the cut out I blended evergreen bough and broken china ink onto sno cone cardstock with a bit of water sprinkled onto it.  I used the Picket Fence Studios String of Lights die to cut from white cardstock and and added Nuvo drops to represent the lights, attaching to the trees for a festive feel in the forest. The sentiment from the Sweet Occasions Sentiment Set was stamped directly onto the panel. The images were attached using foam dimensionals.

I stamped Perfect Pines onto Copic friendly cardstock, cut out with an arch die and colored with Copic markers. I also stamped Doe & Hart, colored with Copics and fussy cut out, adding them to the snowy scene. A preprinted sentiment strip finished it up.

While I had Doe & Hart out I decided to make a small tag also. After stamping the two deer, I masked Doe, then stamped the Little Pines image. After coloring the images I masked the pines and blended on tumbled glass distress ink and cut out with a small arch die. I added a tag topper and threaded ribbon and metallic twine through it and tied in a bow.

Today I am featuring a card using an image from the Tofu & Friends-Season's Greetings collection by Pei. 

For this card I went monochromatic, coloring the Christmas Igloo image with a variety of purple hued markers, then fussy cut out. Before attaching the image piece to the wild wisteria background panel using layer of craft foam panel, I slipped a wintery cluster underneath. The sentiment from the Santa's Sentiments set released last year was stamped onto smoky shadow cardstock using Versamark ink, then white heat embossed. A few purple flat backed jewels added a bit of sparkle.

A New Illustrator for Purple Onion Designs

Today I am featuring a card using images from the Winterwood collection. Holly is the newest artist and she has illustrated a delightful mix of Christmas and winter images. 

After stamping Benjamin (badger) and Finn (fox), I masked both and then stamped the Snowy Forest. All images were colored with a combo of Copic and Caliart markers. I masked the trees, then blended on tumbled glass and broken china distress ink to represent the sky. After adding a strip of patterned paper at the bottom, I cut out with a stitched edge die, then added a strip of cardstock for a border. The sentiment from the previously released Merriest City Sentiment set was stamp using cherry kisses ink, then attached with foam dimensionals.

The background was prepared by blending tumbled glass, broken china and salty ocean distress ink onto  the panel. I mixed some white acrylic paint and water, then tapped onto the background piece using a fan brush to emulate snow. I added a snow bank cut from white linen cardstock using a stitched edge die. For the image, I combined Frosty & Sweet Pea (snowman and mouse) and Murphy (squirrel) with the help of a bit of masking. I colored with a combo of Copic and Caliart markers and then fussy cut out. After stamping the sentiment from the previously released Merriest City Sentiment set using cherry kisses ink, I attached the image piece with foam dimensionals. BTW, the sentiment set has been marked down and has several really cute Christmas greetings.

Spring Shower {Purple Onion Designs}

Another card today from the recent Purple Onion Designs release Tofu & Friends-Summer Fun collection illustrated by Chilliezgraphy by Pei (@chilliezgraphy). I posted this on my Facebook page as well as Instagram but just did not have the time to blog it until now. It's been a busy, busy summer so far. 

I used one of my favorite color combos for this card featuring the Spring Shower image plus a sentiment from the Friendly Warm Wishes Sentiment Set created in my usual clean and simple style.

Today's card features an image illustrated by Stacey Yacula (@staceyyacula) for Purple Onion Designs which is a part of the Amongst the Pines release. 

I stamped Sapphire, Steel & Cobalt (swans) onto a Copic friendly cardstock panel along with Clouds from a previous release then colored with Copic markers. After masking the image I splattered on watered down white acrylic ink with a fan brush.  The sentiment is from the Pinkfresh Studio Perfect Sentimental Stamp and die set. The panel was mounted onto a subtle patterned paper background with a layer of craft foam. Super clean and simple!

After stamping Tutu Sweet Dreams onto Copic friendly cardstock, I colored with Copic markers and fussy cut out. I attached the image using craft foam to a circle onto which I blended broken china distress ink. The sentiment from Friendly Warm Wishes Sentiment Set was stamped onto a strip of  cardstock which was also blended with the same distress ink.

It's a flippin' great day at Purple Onion Designs because there are two new adorable stamp collections. Today I am featuring a card from the new Amongst the Pines collection illustrated by Stacey Yacula. 

After stamping the new Fallen Log and Skip images Copic friendly cardstock, I cut out with a stitched rectangle die and colored with Copic markers. I also stamped, colored and fussy cut out Timber from a previously released collection. I masked the two images on the stitched panel and blended tumbled glass and broken china distress inks to represent the water, then used a cloud stencil and tumbled glass ink for the sky portion. I tapped on water using a fan brush on the "water", then blotted with a paper towel. A sentiment from the new Great Outdoors Sentiment set was stamped direct to paper. Timber was attached with foam dots.

Miss You {Purple Onion Designs}

Today's card is the last one I created from the new Tofu & Friends-Love & Joy collection illustrated Chilliezgraphy by Pei (@chilliezgraphy) for Purple Onion Designs. To change things up I decided to go with a garden type look rather than a Valentine/love theme. 

After stamping the Flowers from Tofu image onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, I colored with Copic markers and fussy cut out. For the background I did some messy ink smooshing onto distress cardstock using mowed lawn distress ink. I then used a couple of abstract stamps from an older stamp set using the same mowed lawn distress ink. I used an older die to cut the fence from woodgrain cardstock. The sentiment and image were attached using foam dimensionals.

Hug {Purple Onion Designs}

How are you liking the new  Tofu & Friends-Love & Joy collection from Purple Onion Designs? I was in a total creative funk until I received these sweet stamps from Michele. I am regretting only asking for four of them now!  

After stamping the Brownie Bear & Tofu Cuddles image onto Copics X-Press It card stock, I cut out with a stitched edqe square die with a bit of out of the box action with the cat's tail. I blended around the edges with spun sugar distress ink and colored the image with Copic markers. I used the same square to create a cutout on the main panel then inlaid the image square into it. For the sentiment I cut out using some older alpha dies to create a shaker filled with bits and bobs from a spring sequin mix.

Love is in the Air {Purple Onion Designs}

I have another card using an image from the new  Tofu & Friends-Love & Joy collection illustrated Chillezegraphy by Pei (@chillezegraphy) for Purple Onion Designs. 

If you have checked out Instagram you know the design team loved the Micey Smooches image and I am no exception. This little mouse couple could not be any sweeter. 

After stamping onto plain white card, I masked the image as well as the bottom horizontal edge. I blended on worn lipstick and spun sugar distress inks, removed the masks, then tapped on plain water with a fan brush. After the panel dried, I colored the mice with Copic markers. The sentiment from the Love Sentiment Set was stamped directly below the mice couple for a clean and simple card.

I stamped this cute guy onto Copics X-Press it cardstock using Altenew ink, colored him with Copic markers, then did some fussy cutting. I prepared the linen cardstock background by stamping some abstract splotches with a retired set of stamps using bright buttercup ink. The sentiment from the Love Sentiment Set was stamped direct to paper and before attaching the image with foam dimensionals i anchored it with a black circle frame.

Santa Bear {Purple Onion Designs}

Todays card features yet another image from the new The Merriest Little City collection illustrated by Stacey Yacula (@staceyyacula) for Purple Onion Designs. 

After stamping Nick (Santa bear) onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, I colored the image with Copic markers and fussy cut out. I placed him onto a framed piece with foam dimensionals for extra dimension. Since I had the inks on my craft table from another project I decided to use again by blending on celery, limelicious  and pearfection inks on the top edge of a soft stone top folded card base. I then splashed on a mixture of white acrylic paint and water using a fan brush. After the panel dried, I added a patterned paper border strip below the inked portion, then attached the framed image piece. The sentiment from the Merriest City Sentiment Set was stamped onto red cardstock with Versamark ink and white heat embossed.

Christmas Truck {Purple Onion Designs}

I have another Christmas card using an image from the Tofu and Friends Holiday collection illustrated by Chilliezgraphy by Pei (@chilliezgraphy) for Purple Onion Designs. 

After stamping the Tofu and Friends Christmas Truck onto Copics X-Press It cardstock, I colored with Copic markers and then fussy cut out. I abandoned my usual white background and stamped red cardstock with a window plaid background using Versamark ink and white heat embossed then cut out with a stitched edge die. I added a "road" using dark gray cardstock, then attached the image using a layer of craft foam. The sentiment was parsed from the Holiday Time Sentiment Set stamped with red ink.
