What I got for Christmas: Femme Fatale Burning Blossom

My lovely sister gave me some polishes from Femme Fatale's e-store for Christmas. While some were requests she surprised me with this one.

Femme Fatale Burning Blossom

Burning Blossom is a dusty apricot/orange crelly with matte fluoro pink and eggplant (basically black) hex glitter. I applied 3 coats here, but two would have shown off the glitter better. Then I topped it with a layer of Gelous & Seche Vite.

I'm definitely feeling the heat wearing BB. It'll look great for a day at the beach.

I'll be showing off the rest of my xmas polishes this week, so stay tuned.

Orange & Gold

*Press Sample*

Got a stamping plate review for you today for Born Pretty Store!

QA73 is an odd mix of lace, currency signs and full nail patterns. I love the fleur de lis-esque pattern! I stamped it on to OPI A Roll In The Hague with China Glaze Passion.

QA73 stamped over OPI A Roll In The Hague

The pattern transferred just fine so I'd certainly recommend this plate to others. I hope the lace patterns transfer just as well!

The plate is only US$1.49 from Born Pretty Store. Feel free to use my 10% off coupon QHL91 the next time you buy some nail art supplies!

My last exam is tomorrow hooray, better get back to the studying!

Trying to make the XL stamper work for me

I was trying to be creative-ish when I swatched Kunimitsu Flame Point Siamese a few weeks back. It's a white crelly with blue and orange glitter so I trawled the stash for the two closest coloured polishes (OPI A Roll In The Hague & Barry M Cyan Blue).

I'd just received my XL Stamper and the 2013 Bundle Monster Plates so I tried the two together.

Not so successful was I? Believe it or not this was the result after 4 attempts!

The stamper was just so soft that I couldn't get the pattern to transfer without stretching or squashing it. Plus I couldn't get the whole stamp to transfer either. I chalked it all up to needing practice but before I could, guess what Buster did?!!!! He ate it! Now there are teeth shaped cuts in it, so I'm thinking that it'll only get harder to use.

Oh well, I just ordered a MoYou stamper. We'll see how that one goes. It would've been a cute mani if the stamping wasn't cracked :(

Lilypad Lacquer Swatches

This year an amazing indie brand from Down Under burst on to the scene with a multitude of holos, multichromes and neon jellies.
Lilypad Lacquer absolutely blew me away and now I finally have some little beauts to show you.

Lilypad Lacquer Flaming Hot

Flaming Hot is a complex orange & gold/iridescent flake shimmer with a scattered holo effect.

Lilypad Lacquer I Love Lilac

I Love Lilac is a super pretty lavender with blue flakes and a soft holo effect.

 Lilypad Lacquer I'm Feeling Peachy

I'm Feeling Peachy is a creamy, dirty peach with pink shimmer and a soft holo effect.

Lilypad Lacquer My Enchantmint

My Enchantmint is a bright mint green creme with a soft holo effect. The most colour accurate photo is the one taken with flash - my camera wanted this guy to be ultra yellow!

Lilypad Lacquer Pink Flamingo

Pink Flamingo is a classic neon pink with a soft holo effect. It dries matte due to the neon pigment so I recommend adding a high gloss top coat.

Lilypad Lacquer Pinkie Promise

Pinkie Promise is a pretty mauve creme with a soft holo effect.

Lilypad Lacquer True Blood

True Blood is a deep, dark, reddened purple holo. It looks stunning in full sunlight with the red tones glowing.

The application on all these was fantastic. They apply like cremes and look great at two coats. Pink Flamingo dries to a satin matte finish due to the neon pigment but the others dry glossy.

Lilypad Lacquer is available on Etsy and Llarowe

NPA Does Digital Nails Part II

How was everyone's weekends?
Because I feel like two days just isn't enough! We need 4 day weeks. Fridays could be for catching up on sleep, Saturdays for getting everything done and Sundays for preparing for the week ahead! Or for swatch-a-thons :)

The other day I showed you some Digital Nails glitters, and today I'm back with some of Raphaelle's fabulous shimmers and holos!

Digital Nails Super Temp

Super Temp is a saturated orange with gold flake glitter. It is seriously hot, perfect for Summer, and only needs two thin coats for full coverage.

Digital Nails Stars At Night

Stars At Night is a navy blue linear holo. In the shade (a picture of which I forgot to include) it's a bit darker. The formula is a bit thin, so I used three thin coats for the photos above.

Digital Nails So Disco

So Disco is another holo. This time it is a scattered fuchsia pink with purple/blue shimmer. I can't tell/show you how amazing SD truly is :( The sun wasn't coming out that day, but it is really fab and another two coater.

Digital Nails Run, You Clever Boy

Run, You Clever Boy is my new polish crush! A deep raisin burgundy/brown filled with colour shifting flake shimmer!!! It gives RYCB a duochrome/dual-tone flash of shimmer effect. The dominant colour is green but it shifts to blue and pink as well. I think this was two coats.

So are you in love with Digital Nails now too? I really want the thermal polish Lying - teal to purple with flake shimmer? Yes PLEASE! 15mL bottles will set you back US$10-13.

Hope your manicures make Monday bearable you'all!
