My Love of Pahlish!

Pahlish Your Fortress Fades

Your Fortress Fades is a neutral light taupe with gold shimmer flecks. This is a work appropriate polish with a little sass! Two coats.

Pahlish Sleep to Dream

Sleep to Dream is an aubergine with blue, gold and other indiscernible colours of shimmer flecks. Absolutely stunning!!! I applied two coats for completely opaque coverage.

Pahlish Sink in the Silence

Sink in the Silence is a deep chocolate brown creme with gold and rusty orange/bronze shimmer flecks. This is a shade I'll be sporting this Fall/Winter. Two coats - seriously opaque!

Pahlish Forest of the Dead

Forest of the Dead is a dark swampy green bursting with green, gold and bronze shimmer flecks. Absolutely stunning. If you don't own many greens, this is the one you want. Two coats.

Pahlish Fleur de Sel

Fleur de Sel is a white/very pale pink creme with red and pearl shimmer flecks. I've never seen non-metallic red flecks before and I'm totally obsessed with them! This was just two coats.

Pahlish El Topo Petite

El Topo Petite is a deep purple leaning taupe with rusty orange glitter flecks. It's gorgeous, perfect for Autumn/Winter. Two coats.

Pahlish Bad Wolf

BTW I'm holding a bottle of Your Fortress Fades in the photos above because I temporarily misplaced Bad Wolf and the colours were close enough, I thought I'd get away with it. Fail!
I freaking love Bad Wolf and for that matter any polish that has these colour-shifting (pink-gold) flakes in it! Way to make a putty taupe stand out Pahlish!

All the flakie shades need a thick topcoat for a smooth and glossy finish - but otherwise the formulas are easy to apply, if slightly thick.

Pahlish is available here and at several e-stockists.

Elevation Polish Jungfrau, The Wit & Tortoiseshell Nail Art

Two exams down, five to peoples! Since I've been busy studying I haven't been photographing my manis or swatching new polishes, so I'm emptying out my 'edited' folder! Today I've got some Elevation shades to share with you.

Elevation Polish Jungfrau

Jungfrau is a muted slate-like blue with charcoal shards and blue/green shimmer flakes. It's so uncommon and striking, yet muted and very winter/autumn appropriate. Love the name too! Jungfrau is also a two-coater.

Elevation Polish The Wit

The Wit is a navy blue jelly with blue and green square micro-glitter. GORGEOUS! I applied two medium coats for full opacity and one layer of top coat for a smooth, glassy finish.

Elevation Polish Tortoiseshell Nails

Chalkboard Nails did an amazing tortoiseshell manicure earlier this year with Elevation Tettegouche, Temperance and Cascade. I bought the set of brown jellies for this very reason!!! My attempt to follow the tutorial wasn't as successful because I used too much polish and too big splotches but it still looked pretty awesome in my opinion. It wouldn't smooth out after 3 layers of top coat though, yikes!

ILNP Holographic Part II - dark crellies

On Monday I showed you the lighter creme holos from ILNP and today I have the darker crellies for you! The holo stands out a lot more in these darker shades because the formula is more jelly-like and the bases being darker = stand out sparkle!

 ILNP Raspberry Beret

Raspberry Beret is a muted berry pink because the silver holo pigment grays it. But in the sun or in direct light it transforms in to a banging medium strength linear holo. This one needs about two coats for full coverage.

ILNP Grape Alicious

Grape Alicious is a stunning deep violet holo. The blue rainbow sparkle just hangs around non-stop!!!! So this is creamy formula-wise, but it doesn't ever really look like a creme on the nail. It's too holo, hum-ah-nah, hum-ah-nah!! Two coats for full coverage. I don't have many photos of this one because I accidentally deleted most of them hehehe.

ILNP Simply Adorablue

Simply Adorablue is a medium teal green holo. The formula is more jelly-like and when you're in the shade the scattered holo particles are quite visible. In direct light it illicits a weak-medium linear holo effect. Two-three coats are best for full coverage.

ILNP Monterey Bay

Monterey Bay is a very dark teal blue. It's bluer than Glitter Gal Lizard Belly but not as holo. Another easy two coat application - getting tired of me saying that yet?!

ILNP A.C. Slater

A.C. Slater is a slate brown holo. How awesome is the Saved by the Bell reference?!!!!!! That was my favourite show growing up. You have no idea how happy I was when we went to the US over Summer and they always had it playing non-stop. My favourite shows were when the kids were working at the county club over Summer break!!! Anyway slate brown is the bestest brown, so I'm a huge fan. The holo is pretty obvious and it's another two coater.

Yes, I'm pretty happy with my weak-medium linear holos. They aren't in your face holo so I still get that excited feeling when I walk out in to the sun and suddenly there are little rainbows on my nails :) You might say, I'm not too hard to please.

Check out ILNP's glitters, holos, chromes, cremes and jellies for yourself. They are US$10/bottle and offer worldwide shipping.
