Franken Feature: Liquid Glitz

Tara over at Tough As Nails, Twice As Pretty creates some pretty awesome frankens! Her brand is called Liquid Glitz. I had been eyeing one of her collections for quite a while and finally asked her if they were available for purchase! She is super nice and kind and ended up offering them for me to review!

Collection: The Glitters
This collection is pure GLITTER! If you can't tell by now, glitter is my favorite, next to holographic of course.
The Glitters collection consists of 6 gorgeous glitters.
Raspberry Rap, Nebulus Rock, Blueberry Pop, Apple Jazz, Slate Fusion, and Mermaid's Hymn.

Raspberry Rap is a gorgeous pink based glitter with a hint of blue. Nebulus Rock is a black based mini glitter polish with larger holographic glitters as well as a hint of magenta glitter. Blueberry Pop is an electrifying blue and black glitter.

Apple Jazz is a great apple green glitter with a slight green base to it. Slate Fusion is a silver glitter with larger holographic glitter. Mermaid's Hymn is a combination of blue, turquoise, purple, pink, green, and holographic glitter.

I decided to do a skittle mani with the glitters. I am going to do a full mani with Mermaid's Hymn soon.

First is one coat of the glitters. One thing I have always loved about glitters is that they tend to dry fast.

Next is two coats of the glitters.
2 coats shade

2 coats indoor light

Lastly, to reach semi-full opacity is three coats of the glitters.

3 coats natural light

What I really loved about this collection is the fact that you can either use it as a top coat, layer it with other colors, or use it for full on glitter mani's! The formula was really great on these and the glitter dispersed wonderfully.

Tara will be opening up her very own etsy shop soon, but for now if you are interested in these you can email her at:

Nail-Venturous Forever Taylor

Forever Taylor
Today, I have another franken by Amy at I'm Feeling Nail-Venturous. We are in a nail polish group together and I had asked if any of the frankeners could create a black glitter nail polish for me since I had never seen one before.

Forever Taylor is a gorgeous black glitter nail polish with holo glitter. It has many different sized glitter in it to create depth and a more glittery look. I really love what she did with my idea, she made it come to life!!

I really love this and I am so glad that Amy offered to create this for me, she really is a sweetheart!!

What really is interesting about this nail polish is the unexpected larger hex glitters, it really adds to the polish making it unique and pretty! I wanted something that could be chic, yet girly and pretty, not just a plain black nail polish. She really hit it out of the park with this one!

What do you think? Would it be something that you would purchase?

Nail-Venturous Laquers: VooDoo Doll

VooDoo Doll
VooDoo Doll is another great franken that was created by the awesome Amy at I'm Feeling Nail-Venturous. I think she needs to stop before she dominates the nail polish world too much ;)

VooDoo Doll is an awesome black and white glitter nail polish. It has a very jelly-sheer black base with multiple sized and shaped black and white glitters. What probably catches your eye the most is the large white hex ones!

I really love how layered this polish looks! Its so neat and unique that I just can't stop staring at my nails today! I can totally see the direction Amy was going when naming this VooDoo Doll, you get stuck in a trance just looking at it! To me it reminds me of a flip flopped version of cookies and cream ice cream, yum!

Brown and Black Holo Comparison

I'mmmm baaaack! My nails are finally starting to look better and grow nicer! I will have my post of the experience using Nailtique.

Today I have a comparison post to show you.
I will be comparing:
OPI My Private Jet (brown holo)
OPI My Private Jet (charcoal-brown holo)
HITS Zeus
Glitter Gal 10 to Midnight
Glitter Gal Black
Direct Sunlight
LtoR: OPI MPJ(brn holo), OPI MPJ(charcoal holo), HITS Zeus,
GG 10 to Midnight, & GG Black holo

Indoor Natural Light

As you can see, the closest ones are HITS Zeus and GG 10 to Midnight. The only difference is that the GG has more of a metallic finish in the sun. After swatching this, I'm not too sure I'm in love with my brown holo MPJ! Don't call me crazy now!

If you would like I can also compare two of the newer versions of MPJ and my black holo franken. Just let me know :)

Zombie Mani

Ok so continuing on with the Halloween nail art for the month of October I chose a Zombie mani!! When I think of Zombies I think of blood and pale green skin, but I just had to add some sparkle to make it a little more girly than gross!

Don't they look gross!!! This look was really simple and easy to do. This mani was a complement to my other hand shown below.
