Lovely Lapis

Some of you will probably remember (I know Irina will) that water-based nail polish which appeared in my 'new in' post (the only nail polish I bought last month). It's finally time for that review.
Neke od vas će se vjerojatno sjetiti (znam da Irina hoće) onog laka na vodenoj bazi koji se pojavio u zadnjem 'new in' postu (jedini lak kojeg sam kupila prošli mjesec). Konačno je stiglo vrijeme i za tu recenziju.

This is Canadian brand 'Suncoat', the polish itself is water-based and peelable. I just had to try it. I decided for 'Lovely Lapis' shade, gorgeous shimmery blue.

Ovo je predstavnik kanadskog branda 'Suncoat', sam lak je na vodenoj bazi i ne treba mu odstranjivač laka već se s nokta oguli. Odlučila sam se za nijansu 'Lovely Lapis', prekrasnu shimmerastu plavu.

On pics you see two coats, no topcoat. I applied base first. When it's dry, it looks kinda semi mat. Drying time is not so great, so I recommend topcoat. I always wear topcoat, but I like to do swatches without it, to see how the polish really looks. The brush is kinda narrow, but it won't make you a problem. Since is water-based, it has no smell at all. If you suspect that polish is not dry enough, don't touch it, otherwise you'll end up with visible marks of your impatient fingers (like that one on my pointer finger). This is not self-leveling nail polish, like the 'normal' polishes are, so that mark will stay. On iHerb site, where I found this baby, it said that you just need to peel off from one corner... guess what, that's true . I must confess, this polish comes off easier than those from Born Pretty Store which I reviewed here.

Na fotkama su dva sloja, bez nadlaka. Ispod je nanešena baza. Kad se lak osuši, izgleda polu-mat. Vrijeme sušenja baš i nije sjajno, pa definitivno preporučujem nadlak. Uvijek nosim nadlak, ali swatcheve radim bez njega, tako mi je sam izgled laka realniji. Četkica je uža, ali vam neće praviti probleme. Kako je lak na vodenoj bazi, nema nikakvog mirisa. Ako slučajno sumnjate da lak nije dovoljno suh, ne dirajte ga, jer ćete završiti s vidljivom oznakom nestrpljivog prsta (poput one na mom prstenjaku). Ostavila sam je namjerno, ovaj lak nije samo-nivelirajući poput naših 'normalnih' lakova, pa će ostati vidljiv. Na iHerb stranici, gdje sam i pronašla ovog malca, kažu da samo trebate zguliti lak s jednog kraja... i da znate da su u pravu . Moram priznati da se ovaj lak lakše skida nego oni s Born Pretty Store koje sam predstavila ovdje. 

I needed to try how this goes with topcoat on... and some super easy nail art.

Morala sam probati i kako će ovo ići s nadlakom... i najjednostavnijim nail artom.

Molim vas, povećajte gornje fotke da vidite shimmer koji se prosijava kroz ove nasumićne točkice. Zbilja mi je žao što lak nisam uslikala sam, s nadlakom, jer je shimmer stvarno prekrasan. 

See, removal with topcoat is easy, maybe even easier than without it. So, no bad chemistry between this type of polish and 'normal' base and topcoat. I wear this manicure for three days, which is great. If you're sick and tired of smell of polish remover in your house, this is a great solution. Honestly, it seems to me that polish remover does more damage to our nails than nail polish. If I had power or knowledge to change all my 'normal' polishes to this version, I would do that without any doubt.

Vidite, proces odstranjivanja laka s nadlakom je bezbolan, možda čak lakši nego bez njega. I ne, nema 'loše kemije' između ovog tipa laka i 'normalne' baze i nadlaka. Manikuru sam nosila tri dana, što je super. Ako vam je pun kufer mirisa odstranjivača laka u kući, evo super rješenja. Meni se ionako čini da puno više štete noktima naprave ti odstranjivači nego sami lakovi. Kad bih znala i mogla sve svoje lakove promijeniti u ovakvu formulu, učinila bih to bez premišljanja.

Just wanted to show you update of one of Born Pretty Store's eco-friendly, water based nail polishes. 

Evo mene, samo da vam pokažem update jednog od Born Pretty Store ekološkog, na vodenoj bazi laka za nokte.

I decided for something super simple, so I just added some glitter. I reached for one of bottles that I've got on Famous Make Up online store.

Odluka je pala na super jednostavno, pa sam samo dodala glitter. Posegnula sam za jednom od bočica koje su stigle s Famous Make Up online trgovine.

My choice was the purple glitter. Although it looks purple in the bottle, it's actually pink and blue, which looks very beautiful. These polishes have really appropriate name  (but no individual name or number on these bottles).

Let's make this clear - this manicure lasted for three days, I removed it because I got bored.

Ljubičasti mi činio najprikladnijim. Iako u bočici izgleda ljubičast, glitter je zapravo dvobojan - pink i plavi i na noktima super izgleda. A definitivno imaju i prikladno ime  (premda ne i pojedinačno ime ili brojčanu oznaku).

I da ne bi bilo zabune - s nadlakom je ova manikura izdržala tri dana, a išla je dolje jer mi je dosadila.

Eco-friendly, water-based nail polished from Born Pretty Store

Few months ago, I received these cuties from Born Pretty Store.
Pred neka dva mjeseca, dobila sam ove slatkiše od Born Pretty Store-a.

I admit, I was so seduced with the looks of this babies that I didn't think twice of what's inside. Well, inside is 8 ml of eco-friendly water-based nail polish! What that means? That means that these babies are odorless, they don't have bad smell like 'normal' polishes and you even don't need nail polish remover for removal, how cool is that . Let's see them in action!

Priznajem, bila sam totalno zavedena izgledom ovih bebica pa nisam previše razmišljala o njihovom sadržaju. E pa, unutra je 8 ml laka na bazi vode, sasvim ugodnog za okoliš! A što to znači? Pa recimo da su bebice bez mirisa, nemaju onaj loš miris 'normalnih' lakova i čak vam neće trebati ni odstranjivač laka da ih se rješite. Šta to nije cool . Da ih vidimo!

This is shade #29, gorgeous deep shimmery blue color. On photos you see two coats, no topcoat. The polish is highly pigmented, it looks almost the same with just one coat. As I said, it has no odor, the brush is medium wide and it's easy to work with it, nice formula, drying time is ok, super cute bottle... pure love! 

Plavac je nijansa #29, prekrasna tamnoplava sa shimmerom. Na fotkama su dva sloja, bez nadlaka. Lak je dobro pigmentiran, i izgleda gotovo identično i sa samo jednim slojem. Kao što rekoh, nema mirisa, četkica je srednje širine i neće vam praviti probleme, formula je krasna, kremasta, vrijeme sušenja sasvim pristojno, preslatka bočica... ma čista ljubav!

Here is the other shade, #38. This is reddish brick color, everything I said before goes for this shade too - the brush is easy to work with, the polish has no odor, drying time is decent, the polish is highly pigmented, I added the second coat just out of habit, but this on pics the polish is with topcoat. 

Now that you seen how they look, let me tell you a little story... of me and these polishes .

Since these are water-based polishes, I had my dose of suspicion how will they get along with 'ordinary' polishes. So, I applied the blue one alone, with no base coat, no topcoat. Few hours later, with a little help of washing dishes...

Evo i druge nijanse - #38. Radi se o crvenkastoj boji cigle, i sve što sam gore navela vrijedi i za ovu nijansu - četkicom se rukuje bez problema, lak nema mirisa, vrijeme sušenja je pristojno, lak je baš kremast i pigmentiran, drugi sloj je tu više iz navike, ali na fotkama je još i nadlak.

Sad kad ste vidjele kako izgledaju, ispričat ću vam i priču - o sebi i lakićima .

Kako su ovo lakovi na bazi vode, sumnjala sam da će se dobro složiti s 'normalnim' lakovima... pa sam plavac nanijela sasvim sam, bez baze i bez nadlaka. Par sati kasnije, uz malu pomoć pranja suđa, desilo se ovo...

Major disappointment! Then I tried to scrap the rest of polish of my nails... that didn't went so great either... so, what am I doing wrong? Maybe I should try it with base coat, maybe even a top coat? So I did. Guess what? That worked! 

Strašno razočaranje! Onda sam pokušala sastrugati ostatak laka... no ni to nije prošlo bajno... pa u čemu griješim? Možda sam ipak trebala probati s bazon, možda čak i nadlakom? Pa sam tako i učinila! I znate što? Ovaj put je upalilo!

So, here are the rules: apply your base coat as usual, put coat or two of eco-friendly water-based nail polish and seal it with topcoat. This way the polish will last at least two day on your nails (I wear it for three days), and removal will be piece of cake. Just push the polish on one side, when it's lifted you can pull it off. If it doesn't come of in one piece, scrap the rest with your nail or just use a nail polish remover. Although, the point is in avoiding any bad chemicals, but you can use nail polish remover. If you have young girls who love to play with polishes, but you're worried because the nail polishes are not that healthy (no matter how we love them) this is ideal solution . 

Only fault that I found is that the brush fall out from the cap, but I fixed that with some glue .

Dakle, evo i pravila: nanesite bazu, kao i obično, stavite sloj do dva vašeg eco-friendly lakića na bazi vode i obavezno sve zatvorite nadlakom. Na ovaj način lak će vam potrajati barem dva dana (ja sam ga nosila tri), a ni odstranjivanje neće biti bogzna kakav problem. Jednostavno zgurajte lak s jedne strane i kad se podigne počupajte ga dolje. Ukoliko ne ode u jednom komadu, zagrebite lagano noktom da se rješite ostatka, a u krajnjem slučaju možete upotrijebiti i odstranjivač laka. Premda, poanta bi bila u izbjegavanju štetnih kemikalija, ali ako nemate volje za grebanje i čupanje poslužite se odstranjivačem laka. Ukoliko doma imate klinke koje se vole igrati lakovima, ali niste sigurni da je to baš zdravo za njih (bez obzira koliko mi naše bočice volimo), evo idealnog rješenja .

Jedina mana koju sam im našla je da je četkica ispala iz čepa, ali to sam sredila uz pomoć ljepila 

Lakovi sigurno zaslužuju preporuku. Ukoliko bi i vi rado probale ekološke lakiće na bazi vode, naći ćete ih ovdje, na Born Pretty Store stranici za 3.59$. Sve mi se čini da i meni treba još koja bojica .
