Packed my bags

I have spent the day gathering things. Packing things I think Cricket and I will need for a road trip. Cricket has been worried his favorite toys will be left behind. Though out the day I would find a bear, a pig and boomer sitting in a pile by my feet and those big old puppy dog eyes staring at me as if to say don't forget to pack these. It's been almost 2 years since I have been to San Antonio. I feel the need to spend time with my family. To sit with Heather in her studio during the day while the kids are in school. Fixing dinner and having a family meal together in the evening. Listening to Hannah and Evangeline spin stories about their day. It will take 10 hours for Cricket and I to make it across Louisiana and half way across Texas. My IPOD is ready to play some tunes as we travel through the swamps and bayous. If you don't hear from me for awhile not to worry I will be two stepping my way across Texas.

There are Witches in this Post

In June I brought my Mom back home with me for a visit. We drove to Mississippi to see with my Aunt Delores and Uncle Joe. Aunt Delores has been busy making Witches for Halloween. These are replacements for her girls who lost all their holiday decorations in the storm (Katrina) 84 days to go. Are you ready for Holloween?

In Memory of Audrey Sunburn

I am sad beyond belief to hear that my dear friend Audrey has passed away. This weekend she was on my mind. It has been awhile since we heard from her. Audrey Sunburn was also know as "nahani" on the beading list. Audrey had such a kind and gentle heart. We were like sisters, friends and part of a family called BeadinBitchinBikerTurkeyBuzzardBeadinBabes. Tonight I recieved an email from her daughter Paula. She said her Mom passed away on Friday It brought home again: How short life is. You don't know what tomorrow will bring. If your thinking about someone you haven't heard from in awhile...don't wait. Call or send an email. Let them know your thinking about them. Don't wait for tomorrow they may not be here. So to you all my dear friends who stop by to see what is going on at No Easy Beads and know me as Bevvie, Bev or Beverly I haven't forgotten about you. Life has gotten in the way and I am going to work on changing that. Know that you are always in my heart and prayers.

Where Did The Time Go?

Where did all that time go since my last post to the blog? Well, my Mom and I went on a road trip to Phoenix, AZ to visit with my brother and meet his Fiancé Jammie. I am so bad. I forgot to take a picture of them! Don't worry I took lots of pictures of the scenery and places we stopped along the way. I bought a Garmin (GPS) for our trip. Not only did it does it map out your route it also found attactions, food and lodging along the way. We stopped at Stein's Ghost town in New Mexico. Lucky for us Garmin found this attactration for us on our way to Phoenix. The Casa Grande Ruins (Click on the link to read about the ruins) From my brother's house Garmin led us to the Bead Musuem in Glendale where we met Judith and Crystal. We toured the museum and had lunch at a Tea Room a block away. That was a special treat seeing the bead exhibits and spending an afternoon with friends. Texas has the most beautiful wild flowers. I see this color combination in a future bead project.

The Beginning of 2007

This year I am not going to make any New Year's resolution. For luck and money I decided black eyed peas and cabbage were not for me. I am going to wear my rose color glasses and find peace living in New Orleans. Looking through my rose-coloured glasses, things seem more pleasant than they really are. I am nostalgic for a city I knew before the storm.

Tis The Season to be Busy

Once again it seems like I have traveled around the world and back again. We went home to spend Thanksgiving with my family in Michigan. I packed a box of beads but never found the time to work on anything while I was there. A day after I got home I packed up the same beads and headed to Gilmer, TX. I have this thing about making it to Marcie's before Judith does for our Gilmer Getway. You can read about the good time we had at Marcie's on Judith's blog. Two Christmas parties later I was on the road again to spend a week with my daughter Heather in San Antonio. We made sugar cookies. The cookie cutters were flying and we were covered from head to toe in flour dust. (Maybe it was fairydust. It was a magical time.) Together we shared an early Christmas celebration. I watched Eva sing in her Christmas program. We had dinner on the Riverwalk at the Rainforest Cafe. 3885 miles laster I made it home in time to spend Christmas eve and Christmas day at home my husband. Spending time with my family was the best gift of all.
