The unmentionable family - and more

I hope you all survived the iDSD Weekend...?

Do you know what is absolutely horrible?
Being flat broke on iDSD! I had about $2 to spend this weekend and with all the sales and can't-miss-deals, I was devastated. But when the darkness is as dark as can be, someone flips the switch and light shines again.

THANK YOU LISA MERGENS!!!
Your very generous donation saved my weekend!

That is what I love about this world wide scrap-family. We are there for each other - knowingly or not.

And speaking of being there for each other - Please visit "Your Gallery" where I have just posted 2 new layouts made by Kathy Overman. They are not only beautiful, they are also about one of my favourite places in the world: The Sistine Chapel in Rome. Go see them and let us know what you think.

And now for today's freebie. Yes, it's still Halloween, but I must admit, I am not quite sure if you can use it... I made a double sized QP (12x24) named "Family Portraits" with all the relatives we do not EVER talk about (we all have them, don't we?). I have made room for 4 of your own unspeakable relatives.

Take it or not - use it or not. It doesn't matter, 'cause I had SO much fun making it... :0))

I will be back in a couple of days with the absolute final Halloween posting - I mean it this time! Hope to see you then.

Skulls & Dead Street

Before I get to the fun part, I feel an intense need to send all my thoughts to everyone on the US East Coast who had their lives literally ripped to pieces by Sandy. I feel for you all and hope that you will soon be able to return to some kind of normality. You shall know that however helpless you feel right now, people far away are also feeling helpless, or at least devastated by not being able to help you in such an awful situation.

It doesn't feel at all right to say it, but I say it anyway:

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I am afraid (and what a day to be so) that I told you a little Halloween lie in my last post. The plans for Halloween posting to end today is not holding up. First of all because I have lots to post, but also because I was unable to post yesterday due to bad connections (I suspect that is something else to blame on Sandy). But I guess you don't mind me continuing this Halloween Show a few more days, right?

Today's two freebies are another paper pack and a frame/background.

The papers are made from some great original skulls by Karen's Scraps and Graphics and are delivered to you in both flat and wrinkled versions. And as Karen is very generous with her TOU you get them for CU.

And as I mentioned in an earlier post I have fallen in love with all my hundreds of Brushes and here is one of many freebies you will get from it. It started out as a frame but ended up as both a frame/small QP and a "blank" version where you can add your own stuff.

That's it for today. I wish you all a happy (and spooky) Halloween Night!
See you soon.

It doesn't have to be so spooky

Halloween can be funny too!

At least I have tried to make it so.

Today I bring you a sad but funny QP with a little ghost, who had its blanket stolen :o))
I hope you can see the humour...

Have spooky fun and come back soon!

That's what friends are for

About a month ago I received an email that were both scary and sweet:

my mom is justie. I hope i have right emails. I am sure you know a lady is harassing her and I know its cause that idiot is jealous cause I saw her work and it sucks and I watch my mom draw and shes great. she can make lots of great stuff. but she got so stressed and now she ended up having a heart attack. she will have surgery tomorrow but dr said 6 weeks of no work no stress no nothing. my dad said to turn all stores and blog and eveything down for that time so she wont want to work or fix or whatever. she said to email her friends and people to let them know what happen to her so they wont worry or something. she will be home from surgery by next monday if its all ok.

Gena

Justie is the talent behind the designer Just Creations and the blog with the same name and I have for a while considered her a friend. Therefore, I felt so bad about this email and crossed my fingers for more than a week hoping she would be OK. I don't know if my fingers had anything to do with it but she did do OK. Yeahh!

Unfortunately, the same can not be said for her blog. I will not go into details just say that the patient died and Justie is now not only unable to work for a while but also without a place to post...

That is why I was so pleased - and deeply honored - when she wrote to me a couple of weeks ago to ask if I would like her Halloween designs for my blog so they wouldn't go to waste. Of course I did, but I insisted to post them as her designs and not my own. And that is the reason that today's freebies look a little different from my usual freebies.

Justie supplied me with all her Halloween designs and I have re-packed them into 4 freebies for you.

Click each image for direct download (4shared).

"Halloween Frames" - 6 cute frames, full size, 300 dpi.

"Halloween Kit" -  4 papers and 22 elements/WA, full size, 300 dpi.

"Halloween QP" - 12x12, 300 dpi.

"Trick or Treat" - Elements, Word Art and letters, full size, 300 dpi.

Since 4shared is acting up (again) today you get Hotfile links as well:

When you use any of these  designs in your work please credit Justie, not me. I have included her general TOU with the necessary information.

I hope you will all join me in wishing Justie a speedy recovery and if you leave a comment below I'll make sure she gets it.

Lots of Love to Justie and you all...

Old Style Notice Board

I noticed (ha!) that the Notice Board QP was a popular freebie, so I figured - why not ride the waves of success and make another one. This time I have made it “old style” as that is my preferred style. So today you get yourself another notice board QP, BUT… that’s not all. I have also included all the elements I used to make it so you can make your own (different) version of it.

Have fun with this little kit!

See you again soon.
