SOG Gatefold Challenge

Hi there! It was Some Odd Girl FB Fun Day on Saturday and what that means is that they have challenges, major discounts and some fun random crafty chatter. One of the challenges was to create a gatefold card. But I think I goofed and did it wrong. One of the odd girls created a gatefold card with the panels cut in a circle and the image on the inside. As you can see, mine is the regular way. Whoops :)

Hope you had a good weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

SOG FB Fun Day

(Image: Alice Mae)

Hello Bloggers!! Some Odd Girl held a FB Fun Day today. There were challenges, prizes, tutorials and lots of discounts. They also had a scavenger hunt which was pretty cool with a fun image as the prize.

(Inside of Card)

The first mini challenge of the day was to create our own embellishments.
I used the butterfly technique for my project.

The main challenge of the event was to color up a SOGgy with a non-traditional color. I was going for a Magenta Pink hair do but I'm cringing as I see that her hair looks reddish in this light. I used one too many different tones and so I may have failed the assignment. Lol.

SOG Fun with a little Tiddly Love

Happy Saturday Night!!! How are you enjoying your evening? I should be organizing and packing but instead I decided to create a bright and cheery card using Roller Mae to play along with Some Odd Girl. Today was a special day of Facebook Funday for SOG where discounts, tutorials and lots of SOGgy love were found.

I used the Sketch from the SOG Sketch Challenge

I also have a little Tiddly card inspired by the Mom's challenge over at Tiddly Inks. This one was made for my mom from her little princess, who is no longer me, lol! I've been replaced by my niece, oh well circle of life. Hehehe.
Image Used: Everyday Princess by Tiddly Inks  - I accidentally cut off her scepter but its ok :)

I Want to Get Odd...

Sentiment: Are You Ready to Rock set, Crafty Sprouts

Happy Sunday Night! I'm here tonight rushing to make the deadline for the Get Odd Guest Call. I'd love to be considered for this Odd Girl spot because Kristy's images are super cute and fun to work with.  I used one of my fave characters and placed her in a photoboth picture strip. I just love her happy face and that she's dancing all over the place. This is the reason why she's dodging in and out of the photo booth, she just cant seem to stay still. Lol.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Ive missed the last few Best Project linkys :( but Im back. Yay!! :)

I loved going to the beach just for that specific reason, welllll that and all those gorgeous eye candy men. lol

Make sure you link up your fave project from last week.
If you do, make sure you tell Kristy I sent ya'

Good for a Kiss...

Hi All!  I hope you are all well. Today I have a CAS card inspired by the Art Nouvea Challenge at Some Odd Girl. At first glance, well you wouldn't think of that era when you see this card (to be honest I had a bit of trouble with it. I'm thinking I should have used Kraft instead of the green base) But after a bit of my rambling, I may be able to stretch it far enough for you to see what I'm seeing. Lol.

The gist of Art Nouvea is European art that was inspired by curved lines, natural form (flowers and plants) and was the transitioning period to Modernism. So here it is, my curved lines are seen in the bum of Tiny Tia and the shape of the froggy and the Natural form is seen in the botanical dp used for the background and butterflies. Plus, I like to think that the yellow was inspired by the gold color of the inspirational picture. Lol, I know I'm stretching this. Sorry :)

If you want some gorgeous Nouvea inspiration head on over to the SOG Challenge Blog to check out the DT work (using the new gorgeous Nouvea Clear Stamps from SOG)

I also want to remind you that new Crafty Sprouts sentiments will be coming your way. There's a little bit of everything, especially for all my "Sparkly" friends.

Thanks for stopping by!

Dancing Mae

Happy Halloween!! I hope you are enjoying yourselves and are getting ready to gorge on all the yummy chocolates the kiddies will be bringing home. Speaking of Halloween, Crafty Sprout's current challenge is Anything Halloween. The prize is 2 DCWV stacks. I think that's a pretty sweet Treat. Make sure you get your entries in by the Nov 3rd.

In the meantime, I wanted to share a Thank You card featuring Dancing Mae from Some Odd Girl. Isn't she a cutie?!!?! She'll make anyone feel happy. Now that the festivities are really beginning, you must remember to start making those Thank You cards.

I used the Peachy Keen Sketch. Ill also be playing with Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Anything Goes.
Thanks for stopping by! Ill be back later with my last Halloween goodness for the year.

 **********
I'm choosing this card as My Best Project of the Week for Week #5. This is a linky party held by Kristy, owner of Some Odd Girl. I chose this one because the image (Dancing Mae) brings a smile to my face everytime I see her. Plus I like that it is a cheerful card and I used colors outseide my comfort zone.

Do I Scream Summer?

Hi Scrappy Friends! Do you ever come across images (digi, stamp or cricut cut) that you like but you feel as if you cant use them because they are seasonal? I do. Do you think it's fair to wait over half a year to be able to use them? I don't. So because of that I like to alter my images to give them new life (whenever I can).

Take this image for example: this is Beachy Tia, a summer image from Some Odd Girl. I decided to omit her body (which is dressed in a bathing suit) and chop off one of her arms. It isn't a drastic change but it's something. So what do you think? Does she still scream Summer? Because in my head, i still see the bathing suit. Lol!

I used the Ink Pink Sketch #8. Ill also be playing with: SOG - B/W and Color. Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes. Thanks for stopping by :)

Other Materials Used: Prismacolor Pencils. DCWV Cardstock and DP. Prima Flowers. Peapod Twine, The Twinery.
