Hearts & Flowers Video Hop: DIY Dollar Tree Holiday Decor!

Hi, friends! Happy Valentine's Day!!! I am super excited to be joining the amazing Hearts & Flowers Video Hop today! We will all be sharing some video tutorials on how to create things with hearts and/or flowers, and I chose to use some Dollar Tree items to upcycle and create my own home decor!

 Here's the Valentine's Day decor I created~

This project was very quick and simple to create. I painted the sides with black paint, Mod Podged patterned paper onto the front, then added heart accents from Dollar Tree! In my video, I give more details about this project AND create an Easter themed piece of the same size! If you'd like to take that journey with me and see the final product, please click HERE to get to the video on my YouTube channel!

There are prizes on some of the videos, so I hope you take the time to visit each stop! For the full list, please visit Monica's blog HERE! Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you have a wonderful day filled with love--because you ARE loved! Until next time, HUGS and happy crafting, friends!

Christmas 24: Embossing

Hello, friends! I am SO excited to be sharing another card created for the *NEWEST* holiday card challenge, Christmas 24! If you follow along, you will have 24 cards made before the Christmas holiday each year! Challenges are biweekly on the 1st and 15th of the month, and this time's challenge is EMBOSSING: HEAT OR DRY.  Take a peek at my creation...

I used an older stamp set from Hero Arts for the stamped image. I added highlights to the wreath image with Sakura glitter gel pens. I also added some texture by roughing up the edges of the white part of my focal panel.

For the bottom of my focal panel, I added some twine I recently purchased from The Dollar Tree, some punched leaves (punch by Stampin' Up!) that were also highlighted with gel pen, a paper flower from my stash, and a few enamel dots from The Stamps of Life.

The embossing folder I used is by Darice and was purchased from Consumer Crafts. I love the way it frames my focal panel with a lovely floral feel! I truly adore the way this simply card turned out! What do you think? Please leave me a comment below to let me know your thoughts!

I'm entering this card into these fabulous challenges~

(3 enamel dots, 3 leaves, grps. of 3 berries)

MHKDesigns: Pretty As A Pitcher

Hello, friends!  Welcome to the February 2017 Release for the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop!  I have 5 fabulous sets to share this month, along with one paper pack.  I just know you will LOVE all the creations that my team and I have to share, as well!  Today's set is called...

And here is my card~

This image was colored in with a combination of implements.  I used Wink of Stella pens for the metallic portions, glitter gel pens for the roses and some leaves, and a blue water based marker for the scroll accents.  The sentiment was added over the image after it was printed onto vellum.  A few flowers and leaves accent the sentiment.  The base was prepped with paper from the *NEW* Rosy Posy paper pack before the focal panel was added.

Keeping the image as a larger focal image definitely works on this card, I think!  I love the addition of the vellum and flowers, as well. I hope you like my offering today, and I would love for you to leave me your thoughts about this creation in the comments below!

And now, let's talk about how to get this new set OR the entire release for FREE!  Here's what you'll need to do...

House of Cards: Love Theme and/or Color Inspiration

Happy February, friends!  It's time for another challenge at House of Cards, and this month we are asking you to make a love themed creation or be inspired by our color scheme...

I decided I was inspired by both!  I created a sweet little Valentine with all the fixin's! ;) Take a peek at my creation...

I used some fun dies from Paper Sweeties to create the main heart portion of this card.  The flowers were made by my dear friend, Cohenna, and the stamped sentiment is from The Stamps of Life!

I think this little Valentine is totally darling.  I hope you agree with me!  I'd love to hear your thoughts about it in the comments below! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today, friends!  I hope you take a bit of time to come and play along with us at House of Cards.  Don't forget to stop by the other DT members' blogs for even MORE amazing inspiration--they always blow me away!  I'll be back later this month with more crafty posts!  Until then, HUGS and happy stamping, friends! :)

MHKDesigns: Chicken In

Hello, friends!  It is time for another release for the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop, and I have some super fun sets and papers coming your way!  There are a few "anytime" sets, and we're also looking ahead to a few winter holidays this month!  I hope you grab them for your stash!  Today we are featuring the *NEW*...

This set makes me happy...it's vintage AND punny! ;)  I decided to pair this set with the Country Farm papers.  Take a peek...

I kept the focal image (from the *NEW* Chicken In digital stamp set) simple--I printed it out onto white cardstock and then added a bit of color with glitter gel pen.  I love the shine it adds to this fun vintage farm image!

The sentiment, also from the *NEW* Chicken In digital stamp set, is framed by a couple paper flower, a button, and some red seam binding ribbon.  I decided to pair a fun vintage print font with a textured calligraphy/cursive font and I love the way these sentiments all turned out!  Oh, and PUNS! ;)

I used the brown chicken wire paper from the Country Farms paper pack as my card base with some dark brown card as my matting color.  A bit of the turquoise stone wash paper from the Country Farms pack adds just a bit more color.  Cheesecloth gives the card some extra texture.  I really love the way this card turned out, and I hope you do, too!  I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

I'm entering this card into these fabulous challenges~
