Reflection of a Father and Son

Heading to Starbucks on Boston's first real snow day,
I caught this reflection.
I love that this little guy will grow up with memories
of a dad who had the time to make
a memory on a chilly winter morn.

{Good Random Fun} Week 3

The Good

This Saturday, the Scrapbooking company I rep ~ Creative Memories ~ held their first Virtual Crop.
Since it was a football watching day,
I signed in right at 10, and cropped all day!
My goal for the day was to go through some boxes of scraps.
{remember that lean & mean moving goal I have!?!}
I use my scraps to create Page Completion Kits ~
pre-made borders, title elements, journaling boxes and photo mattes that coordinate
so that some lucky scrapbooker can easily finish an album page or two!
I love the challenge of using 'leftovers'
and I especially love seeing these kits come to life when a friend adds their photos
and uses them to tell her story!

The Random
 Finally.
A pretty snowfall!!

The Fun
Someone's got her 'grand-puppy' here for the week!
Let the warm puppy cuddles commence!

Snow Daze

I'm not gonna lie.
I love all this snow.
I understand it's been hard on the roads, schools, city budgets and many psyches...
but I love it.
I think it's good that our world has to slow down a bit.
It's beautiful to watch and walk in and wonder about.
And it's only been three weeks...but we are buried in a frosted, thick coat of the white stuff.
Buried until sometime in March, I'm sure!

In the midst of all the snow
we celebrated Valentines day
and my "baby's" 25th birthday.
Nothing random here...I got my favorite roses and my boy got his favorite foods.
I didn't feel so great over the weekend, but we had some fun in spite of me...

This guy - my handsome valentine - did lots of shoveling.

Glad he had the help of the birthday boy.

My view...from the couch.
I know,
easier to love this snow from the warmth of my home.
Wish I'd had more walking time...
and even some fun shoveling time...
but I'm sure I'll get my turn when I feel better!

In case you haven't heard...

                                   ...winter has arrived.

After one round of shoveling on Monday this was the scene when I walked
                                                                              and into our driveway!!

I'm really not one to chit-chat about the weather, but these days it seems to be hard not to talk about it! Two weeks ago there was that blizzard that might have made the news. {I think the local stations were on the air for 48 straight hours pre-empting almost everything else on the schedule. More irritating than the piles of snow, if you ask me} This week there was another winter storm that sent us 18 inches. Now I'm hearing that it's gonna snow from Saturday through Tuesday with another foot of flakes heading our way! Gotta love New England!

We just keep smiling, shoveling and scurrying back inside!

Six Word Fridays ~ Reason

After yesterday's deluge, today's light dusting
softened the stark, washed out landscape.
And, for who knows what reason,
refreshed my worn out heart too!

Please join in the Friday fun!
Caption a photo, share a poem
or tell a story. Just remember,
only six words in each line!

Six Word Fridays ~ Point

"No snowflake in an avalanche ever
feels responsible...and there is nothing
insignificant in the world. It all
depends on the point of view."

Black & White Wednesday ~ Simply Divine

"Nature is full of genius,
full of the divinity;
so that not a snowflake
escapes its fashioning hand."
Henry David Thoreau

Let it snow!
Bring on the quiet cocoon.
I love the staying in, the laying low...
the slowing down.
I love each frozen, crystallized creation.
I love those first moments,
before the roads are plowed,
before the flakes stop falling...
when the ground is soft
and the air seems pure.
I want to learn the stillness.
The peace.
I will fall asleep tonight in our world
and wake up tomorrow
in a heavenly place.
