Okay friends, better grab a drink and snack and have a potty break, cuz this is a longggg post! I managed to get my package from SugarPea Designs just in time to make some projects for the *rest of* this weeks release! This makes me so happy! It is hard to watch the rest of the team creating all kinds of awesomeness and be stuck on the sidelines! But benchwarmer NO MORE! I am in the game! And I had SOOOOO much fun with these stamps, and you will too!!!
Today we are featuring two new stamp sets and a shwack of SugarCuts dies!
I made a quick set of kids Valentines (measuring 3.5x5). I want to add three more cards to this set to use all of the 'themes' in the Classroom Cupids set. I still need to use the donut, guitar and X's/O's stamps! But this is a start :) Wouldn't this make such a fun little gift for someone? My creative mind is racing! LOL
Here is the 'You're a HOOT' card. I originally was going to make the owl green, which would have been better, but my ink was not allowing the details in the owl to show through, so I had to switch to a different brand of ink. I find Memento Luxe is a nice coverage, yet able to show finer details in stamped images.
The 'I DIG YOU' card. I used small hearts from the Notched Heart Journal Card, as well as the larger heart from Heart Journal Card Set SugarCuts.
Finally, the 'You're the BOMB' card. The heart in the centre of the bomb is one of the cut out hearts from Heart Journal Card Set. I popped it up and added glossy accents for shine.
Up next I have some Valentine's that are more 'grown up'….
This one uses the love die cut from the set Heart Journal Card Set and I cut it twice, using red glitter paper and black CS and adhered them together for a shadow effect. I used a sentiment from the Special Delivery set and just separated it, with 'love' in the middle. The dotted line was stamped directly onto the DP and I popped up the paper airplane with dimensionals (stamped and coloured with grey copics, then cut out using the Special Delivery Accents die). I machine stitched around the edge. Really simple design but I think this card packs a lot of punch!

My final card, using lots of elements from the Heart Journal Card Set SugarCuts and adding an embossed sentiment along the bottom using a stamp from Classroom Cupids. The letter U is a chipboard letter from my stash, which I coloured with a red ink pad and added a coat of glossy accents and chunky red glitter. The 'love' die cuts all got a nice shiny coat of glossy accents, as well as the silver arrow, which points to the word 'Valentine'. I haven't made a shaker card in ages, and I used the Notched Heart Journal Card underneath the Heart Journal Card and added red glitter and black CS hearts. Behind the Heart Journal card is an acetate piece and I used red and clear micro beads for my shaker bits. The whole thing is popped up using foam tape. I really love the way this one turned out :)
Here's a little close-up of all the details….
