{PPC/TE} Blog Hop!

Hey there! I am super excited today to be paired up with one of Taylored Expressions Designers for a bit of an unconventional blog hop of sorts!
Taylored Expressions and Perfect Paper Crafting are joining forces for some 'Crazy Dayz' of hopping! So instead of just one main Blog Hop, you'll get lots of different days to hop around to various designers blogs! Fun, huh?

I've used the really cute stamp and die set from TE called Love Bugs. I coloured with copics and added a jar die cut of thin vellum over top of the main jar die. It gives it a bit of a softer affect. I didn't adhere the vellum down (except under the lid on the top) so that you can lift it up to expose the love bugs underneath! Which have a bit of glossy accents and glitter on their lil' bums and wings, and gloss on the heart as well.

I know you are thinking 'WOW, she is genius!' right about now, but I cannot take credit for this one- I swiped the idea from my pal Sarah, who had me pining over this set ages ago :)

I used my trusty Perfect Paper Crafting tools: Perfect Layers Mini and Perfect Cutting Mat to get those oh-so-precise-layers! All of the panels are matted in 1/16" black CS. Use Jenny5% to receive a discount on all of your PPC products HERE!

Now head over to Taylored Expressions designer Kendra's blog to see what she has to show you! And remember to leave comments and 'like' Perfect Paper Crafting on Facebook for your chance to win! Both of these fabulous companies are giving away a $50 gift certificate!

Note: My layout is from the Deconstructed Sketch (#158) from a few weeks ago…I'm also adding this card to the Catered Crop Vellum challenge that's going on right now!

{MOJO173} Crafty Cuppie

Happy Sunday everyone! How was your weekend? My dh and I had a nice afternoon in town yesterday while grandma and grandpa kept the boys. I went to Michaels and Scrapbookers Paradise, spent my Old Navy gift certificate, and wandered around a few other stores! Then we went to the yummy "It's All Greek To Me" restaurant for some delish saganaki, kleftika, and chicken skewers!! Mmmmm! Then we went to 'Country Strong'. It was really good I thought! Today was my neice Elliot's 2nd birthday party. Lots of fun!!
I made this card for my mom to give to my aunt. She wanted something with a scrapbooking feel, so I went with this crafty cuppie from Taylored Expressions. I used MOJO's sketch this week for the layout.
As you can see from the picture, my sewing machine is still not sewing worth a crap....and I just got it back from the repair store..Grrrr! I used some Thrift Shop paper from October Afternoon. I coloured Cuppie with my copics, added some glitter pen to the container of embossing powder/glitter or whatever's in there;) I used my oval and scalloped oval nesties to cut out the image. I threaded some buttons with twine and used some always artichoke seam binding ribbon. Crystal Effects were added to Cuppies cherry as well as a little white opaque pen for a little highlight.
For the inside, mom wanted to be able to put in a little coupon for a scrapbook that my aunt can make with us when she comes to visit. So I made a giftcard type of holder to slip the coupon in, as well as another slot to put the greeting into.
The 'Buttons' note is a new SU set. I used the crafty sentiment set for the 'I'd Rather be Scrappin'.

Recipe:

CS: SU
DP: OA (thrift shop)
Ribbon: SU
Other: Copics, spellbinders, crystal effects, sakura clear glitter pen, kitchen twine, Bigshot, sewing machine, thread, SU circle punch, buttons (unknown)

Martha's Apron

Second post of the day! Can you tell my hubby is away at work? hehe! He gets jealous of my stamp time, so when he's gone I can stamp away without feeling like I'm leaving him out and ignoring his every need;) lol
Anyway, I made this card for my lovely friend who recently had a birthday. She is the perfect woman, in love with her husband (I mean the head over heals kind of teenage, heart skips a beat, tingle in your toes kind of lovin), she is a wonderful mother to her 4 children, and she never fails to put a homemade meal on the table every night, and she NEVER complains about any of the mundane chores of motherhood. She treats every day like a blessing!
So I made this 'Martha' card for her:
I made this with some of the new Stampin' Up! products from the mini catalogue. They are available  to order today! I am in love with these new little plastic flowers and my fav, the seam binding that they have in many new colours! As well as this great new dp:) I also used my new Taylored Expressions stamps and dies....I just love this set!!!!

The layout is one of Mercy's sketches from a few weeks ago. I stamped half of the sentiment on the front and the other half in the middle.

Recipe:
Stamps: Taylored Expressions
Ink: Memento tuxedo blk, colorbox chalk ink- toffee
CS: SU, TE
DP: SU
Dies: Spellbinders, TE
Other: Copics, Seam binding (SU), plastic flower embellishment (SU), dimensionals (SU), sponge

Naughty Laundry

What a catchy title for my post!! I feel pretty witty, if i don't say so myself;)Some naughty little witch left her laundry hanging in plain sight out on the clothesline! What a tramp;) lol!!
I was playing around with my new box of Taylored Expressions goodies.....I was so stoked to get this stamp in the mail!! I am in love with it I think:) I am playing along with Mercys Tuesday Sketch Challenge this week.
I paper pieced all of the little 'dainties' and then stamped them on the cloud-sponged CS and layer the cut peices over top with dimensionals. I wanted the lace tie up on the boustierre (?) to show, thats why I stamped it on the base as well. There is alot of black and diamond stickles on the clothes and the trim and socks are coloured with copics. The polka dots on the bloomers are glazed in CE. I stamped the clothesline stakes and covered them with CE and drew the clothesline in. I applied eggplant liquid pearls around the edge of the spellbinder cut image, and layered it on top of black CS. The sentiment tag die was sponged with rich razzleberry ink and liquid pearls were used again. The black flower is actually patterned with spiderwebs..its a really cool embellie that I found at Michaels and I think it goes great on this girly halloween card;) I sponged the edges along all the layers in rich razz ink.

SFYTT Hogs & Kisses

Hello my pretties!!
This is a quick little card that I whipped up for my Grandpa's 85th Birthday. I used Jen's SFYTT as I thought it was the kind of sketch that wouldn't take too long to make....I was right- I banged this out in no time;) If I wouldn't have been running late, I would have put a wee bit more thought into it, but I had to get my nails done before I took Gramps out for supper.

I used Taylored Expressions Udderly Sweet and coloured Cuppie and the Hogs with my copics. The focal image was cut with circles nestabilities and sponged with ink for the sky and grass. The DP is Cosmo Crickets Garden Variety, which I love so much!! The lattice fence was punched using a martha stewart punch and the little circles were also punched with SU punches. Easy Peasy. Looking back I kind of think I should have used white CS for my fence instead of the green, but hindsight is 20/20 I guess:)

The inside was quick and easy; just a few punches with the cute little sentiment 'Hogs & Kisses on Your Birthday'.....I love dorky little sayings like that! LOL Sorry for the poor quality of the inside shot- I didn't realize it was like this until I downloaded the picture and I have already given the card away, so no re-shoot! BTW, Grandpa tried to rip the big circle off the front to open the card until I quickly redirected him;) OMG- I almost had a heart attack!! It's a good thing for my obsession with score tape or it would have been demolished by the frail elderly! It's funny how you get really uptight about a handmade card (at least i do!!) I once had a girlfriend who let her kid write on the front of the card I gave her. She was is a close friend, so I felt it fully within my rights to reem her out for it and threaten to give her dollar store cards if she ever pulled that crap again, so now she make a point (to an extreme, mocking way, if you will) to ooh and ahh over my cards:) LOL
