Mo's Challenge #125

Afternoon...and a very sunny one here in the South too!! :) I could get used to this...but it's just as likely to snow the next minute though with the weather we've had recently! This should have gone on much earlier...but I was trying to hide it from the person that the card is for! A bit difficult anyway as she's on the team...but hopefully she's got it IRL now :)
The sunshine always makes the day better...and added to crafting...we have it made!  Well... I'm back with Mo and the team...and have missed them all and my crafting...my little pocket of sanity!! lol
This week at Mo's Challenge we have the fab theme of  TRY SOMETHING NEW....I just couldn't decide on 'which' something new!!!  I haven't...sorry...'hadn't'...bought anything new from the craft world for absolutely months...but then!!!...... Oooops!! It all changed!! :)  Soooo... on my card this week I have used a new technique (for me)  of colouring on Kraft cardstock...with my Prisma pencils and absolutely loved it!!

The thing is...do I NEED to buy more when I have Mr Holtz Distress Ink pens on order?? Do I? Huh? Huh? I think maybe....I do!!!!!! Lol
Anyway....I have also used my new Tim Holtz flower/leaf die...Memory Box heart die...Martha Stewart round the page punches and...flower spacers and brads from Nellie Snellen....oh and...Craftwork Cards Designer Paper...that's new too!! :)
If you can't join in this week due to having nothing new.....you have our full permission to go craft shopping!!! :)

Mo Challenge # 78

Morning all x
It's Thursday...so that means it's Mo's Challenge Day! This week our fabulous teamy Dorcus, has set us all the theme of 'Start of Something New' as a challenge. That could be...new job...baby...school...hobby...in fact anything that is a new beginning x
A new life is always such a wonderful and precious thing, and the new little angel that's arrived is the Granddaughter of my dear friend Kathy, who we sadly lost on the 2nd April...just days before the arrival of baby Elizabeth x
I met Kathy about 6 years ago on Craft Swap Forum. I was new to all this 'chatting' lark back then (yes...hard to believe, I know! ) and forums etc were scary places...you hear all the horror stories of chatting to strangers on the net etc! Well, I have to say that I made some of the best friends of my life on there...and continue to make more as I travel in 'blogland' x
I've met a number of them several times at 'get togethers' and craft shows etc..and are just THE best xx ...Which reminds me...Lesley...get that choccy cake in the oven...I'm on my way!! :) x
Never underestimate friendships born from the net...the crafting community has a lot of very special people...and I'm so proud to be part of it x
Baby Elizabeth will of course have her very own Guardian Angel...Kathy will always be a special part of her life x

I have used one of the gorgeous images from the 'Diaper Crew' collection from Mo, and coloured 'her' with Copics. I made the bead pin myself and added a cross charm. The 'Love Hearts' embossing folder is by Crafts Too and available from Dragonfly Designs...as are Copics and the punches which I've used to make the flowers and leaves x

Grab a cuppa and nip across to the Challenge blog...you will just LOVE the cards that my wonderfully talented team mates have created x

I have taken advantage of Mo's challenge this week to get another much needed Christmas card made! The theme set by our dear friend Lisa ... is Fantasyland! Invite all those princesses, fairies and elves to play! I've used the gorgeous Bella Loves Christmas on my card and coloured her with Prisma pencils.

Mill Pond Skating...

This is another of the gorgeous La Pashe Trinitage cards that I've made. These are just so simple, but effective. If like me you're determined to make your own cards, but only have a few minutes here and there to sit and make them, then these are just perfect.

Tag Your Punched Art!

The challenge over at 'Tag, You're it' - this week is to use punched art on your tag.

Linda's beautiful bluebell has made another appearance...but I've used it on something Linda probably never will...PINK!!!!!
♥ I have used Stampin' Up! Pixie Pink on mount board as a base and then stamped a... brand new release...Funky Fairy flower image onto that, in Gold Brilliance. The bluebell has been stamped in black Stazon and coloured using Faded Jeans and Pine Needles distress inks. Then the punched flowers have been made by layering various sizes of the sunburst punch with beads to finish them off ♥

DIY

The Fat Page challenge on Craftswap Forum this week was set by Vanessa...who chose to DIY it!!!

'Do something yourself on your fat page, i.e. handwrite your own message/sentiment, do a little bit of doodling or a little drawing! It doesn’t matter how little or how much!'

Well...I can copy draw things like cartoon and animated characters...ie look at a picture and copy it larger or smaller, but I can't in any way just draw things off the top of my head...so's to speak! So I decided to go for the 'simple side of life' !!
The backing paper is from the FREE 'Blue' download kit from Funky Fairy's...to which I have added flourishes from Autumn leaves and doodled round them. The flowers I have made using 2 sizes of the daisy paper punches in the same blue paper and also green from the free green set. These have been layered and doodled round too...oh...and the same with the leaves ^.^

Mid-week Doodles for DCM

One of my daughters had been invited to a party so I made a very quick and simple acceptance card.
I have doodled around the edge so thought I could use it for the Mid-Week DCM challenge too!
