Muse Guest Designer

Hello! I am excited to be a guest designer for the Muse Challenge this week! You can check out all of the fun details over at the Muse blog HERE.

Here is the card I created using some stamps from WPlus9 and Penny Black. I stamped the skyline stamp from Penny Black horizontally across the card in gray ink, then stamped the sentiment in black along the lower right edge.

I stamped the flowers and leaves which are Fresh Cut Florals from WPlus9 in various colors, cut them out with the coordinating dies, and adhered them with foam tape. I added a few PPP sequins and some white Crystal Nuvo Drops to finish it up!

If you'd like to play along or learn more about the Muse Challenge, you can find all of the details on the Muse Challenge Blog.

Thankful

Hello! I have a card to share with you today that I just made for fun and to play along with the 30 Day Coloring Challenge over at The Daily MarkerIt's been way too long since I've piddled with my stamps and dies, and I've missed it.

I'm in a fall mood, even though it's been unusually warm here. I have my Scentsy going with pumpkin spice filling the air, and I'm pretending it's cool outside.

This was made with an older die from Cottage Cutz. I have a lot of their dies and love them, but they are time consuming, although tons of fun!. I cut all of the pieces out of #110 white card stock and colored them with Copic markers. I did a tiny bit of shading, but not much.

After I colored them, I sponged a small amount of Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges and then I speckled them with white acrylic paint and more Vintage Photo.  For the background, I blended some Peacock Feathers Distress ink onto watercolor paper, speckled with water and then with some ore Peacock Feathers.

The Thankful die is from Penny Black. I cut three out and layered them together then added it on top of the die cuts with some liquid glue.  All of the dies were glued together with Tombow Mono Adhesive.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you are enjoying your fall!

Hugs,

Kay :)

Watercoloring With Penny Black

Hello! I have a new card to share with you using a pretty Penny Black stamp from their newest Spring Release!

This was all stamped in Simon Says Black ink on Master's Touch Watercolor paper from Hobby Lobby. I got a new set of watercolors the other day, and this is one of the first projects I have done with them. They are Mission watercolors and I ordered them from Amazon after watching a couple of Youtube videos. Peerless has been my favorite for a long time because they don't dry lighter or muted. I love the bright colors, but they are kind of messy with all the little pieces of paper floating around. I've been wanting something that was small and more contained, that I could carry around with me, or just sit in a small area on my desk. I am still a little up in the air about these Mission watercolors. I do like them, and the colors are brighter than some of the other watercolors I have, but they are still not quite as nice as the Peerless in my opinion. I will definitely be using them though.

Anyway, this was a fun image to watercolor! I thought I needed just a bit of highlights in the center of the flowers, so I went in with some white acrylic paint and added a few tiny dots. I've decided I like the acrylic paint better than my white gel pen, because my white gel pen doesn't work anymore!  It's all dried, up but shouldn't be, because it's not near old enough.

I mounted my watercolored piece onto a white top folded card base and added some Sparkling Clear Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend! :)

Happy Birthday with Penny Black

Hello! I have a card to share with you today using an adorable stamp from the latest Penny Black release called Buddy & Duck!

Since I tend to do a lot of girly cards, I tried to make this one a bit more boyish. I do have a few boys/men in my life that need cards every now and then. And as much as they appreciate the beauty of my flowery creations, it's nice to have something a little more masculine for them :)
For this card, I stamped the image on Master's Touch watercolor paper with waterproof black ink. I watercolored it with my favorite watercolors Peerless.  After it was dry, I stamped the sentiment, mounted it onto a white card base, and added a few PPP sequins.

I covered my A2 top folding card with patterned paper from the Wintertime Paper pack then mounted my panel onto that with foam tape. I added a few Marshmallow PPP sequins to finish it up!

Penny Black Collage Card

Hello! I am so happy it's Friday! I have a card to share with you today that I created in one of my very favorite styles, collage. I love to sit and cut stuff out, so I usually have lots of little pieces of things in bags etc. So for this card, I took out my little bags of stuff with Penny Black products all cut up in them and played around with different combinations until I got something I liked.

Before I started gluing everything down, using the Hypnotic stencil, I stenciled some soft lavender ink on the card to give it just a subtle background. I then glued down the tag shape with foam tape, then added everything else, tucking the leaves in underneath the flower.  The butterfly was added last with foam tape.

I stamped the For You in a lavender color to go with my mostly purplish hues on the card, then added a few clear 4mm PPP sequins.

Everything I used for this card is listed and linked below!

Winter Wishes With Penny Black

Hello! I have a fun winter card to share today that I created with Penny Black products. I adore making scene cards, and Penny Black has some of the cutest images for doing just that! I love the little girls and animals!

I have to admit that snow and winter scenes are by far my favorite, so I'm glad I have another month at least to create those kinds. For this card, I stamped the snowflakes in the background on watercolor paper, using distress inks, then took a wet brush and went around the slightly to give it that loose watercolor look. The little girls is colored with Copic markers, fussy cut and adhered with foam tape.

I just love those birch trees! I cut them out of white card stock and glued them flat to my watercolored background. I added just a few clear 4mm PPP sequins for a little winter sparkle!

Warmest Wishes with Penny Black Stamps

Hello friends! I am sharing a fun winter themed card today with some adorable Penny Black products! This card could easily be used for a Christmas card, but would also make a wonderful winter birthday or new years card!

I just love the way this card turned out! The little girl on the polar bear is stamped with MFT black licorice hybrid ink, and colored with Copic makers. I fussy cut her out and adhered her with foam tape. The cool tree background is a large stamp from Penny Black called Tall Timbers. I stamped this on white card stock with Sno Cone ink. I used a thin strip of patterned paper from the Holiday Trimmings Paper pack to glue down the side of the card. I cut a snowy hill for the little girl and polar bear to walk on. The sentiment was stamped from the Holiday Snippets stamp set and embossed with white embossing powder.

I added a few 4mm clear Pretty Pink Posh sequins to give the illusion of some snow falling. All of the products I used are listed and linked below!

Wintertime Fun With Penny Black Stamps!

Hello Friends!
I have a card to share today created with some wonderful wintery and fun products from Penny Black. I did a lot of watercoloring on this one!

I stamped my image with MFT Black Licorice Hybrid Ink and heat set it, so I could go right ahead and watercolor this cute image. I used Master's Touch watercolor paper from Hobby Lobby and my Kuretake watercolors. For the background I blended some purple in with the blue for the sky to give it a more nighttime look. When this was all dry, I took my white gel pen and added little dots in the sky for snowflakes, along with some snow on the trees too.

I added Glossy Accents to the windows, which you can't see in the photo. I cut out the Peace on Earth die and glued it along the top of the sky and added a few 4mm clear sequins. I mounted the whole watercolored piece onto an A2 size card base.

The products I used are linked below!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Hugs,

Kay :)
