Christmas Candles

I was lucky enough to have won a challenge over at Simon Says Stamp earlier this month, and I spent my prize certificate on some new Christmas dies (as if I didn't already have 200 Christmas dies!)  I used one of them on this card, the Christmas Candles from Paper Rose Dies.

I cut a white square first, then used the die to cut both red and green CS scraps.  I cut away the candles and then the green branch, and glued those to the already cut, white square.  I used a gold paint pen on the candle flames.  I also added a red CS mat behind the candles.

The sentiment is from QKR Stampede, printed and fussy cut, then the edges were inked with a Copic marker.  I found a scrap of gold, sparkly ribbon and hand-tied the bow.

My design was influenced by the sketch at My Favorite Things,
but I adapted it for a larger, square card.

     Challenges:

This card is #36 in my stash of Christmas cards, all made just this month.  I'd say that's a pretty good start on cards for this holiday season.  :-D  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Fishing for a Valentine

I'm going a little crazy this month with Penny Black stamps but a neighbor was clearing out  her craft room and doing an early "spring" cleaning, and she decided that her stamping days were over.  Consequently, I was the happy recipient of a load of stamps, many of which had cute Penny Black critters suitable for Valentine cards.  Can you believe this one had never been used?  How could anyone resist?  I guess  in a way that makes it not only 'new to me' but actually new.  :-D

The image was colored with a combo of water color paints and ProMarkers, then cut with a stitched and scalloped die from Memory Box.  The sentiment was fussy cut.  I found a crap of that sparkly, mesh ribbon in my stash, wrapped it around a red card blank, and added both the image and the sentiment.  A really simple and fast card.

I chose colors from My Favorite Things and
used all of them in coloring the image.

     Challenges:

That's it for today!  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Stocking Girl

The delightful image on this card is from the Progressive Challenge at LeAnn's World 101, but it as for the November challenge and I had it firmly in mind that the challenge ran from the 5th through the 14th of each month.  Ooops, it now starts on the 5th of each month so I'm late posting my card but I posted it anyway and now I'm sharing it with all of you.  :-D

I colored the image with ProMarkers, then fussy cut it with scissors.  I mounted it onto a scrap of dp which came from an old stack by K & Co.  I added burgundy CS to an A2 card front, then layered on the image and added sparkly red ribbon to the edge.  I used that same ribbon to hand tie the bow.  The sentiment was cut with a die from Avery Elle.

     Challenges:

That's all for today but I'll be back tomorrow with a new card.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Traces of Spring

Today, in honor of the February challenge starting over at Jan's Digi Stamps, I'm sharing one of Jan's spring releases, called "Traces of Spring."  It's on sale throughout February.

I reversed the image before printing and then colored it as closely as I could to the pre-colored image, using my Promarkers.  I cut the image with a QuicKutz oval die and layered it onto a dp scrap from the basket.  The sparkly ribbon I used for the hand-tied bow was also a leftover scrap but it worked so perfectly for dressing up the card that I couldn't resist using it.

The sweet dragonfly is machine embroidered with sheer taffeta fabric and iridescent thread used for the wings.

      Challenges:

Remember, our challenges at Jan's Digi Stamps are always "Anything Goes" and you may use any products from any company, but if you choose to use a JDS image, your card goes into a separate draw only for those using JDS and that increases your chances of winning by a huge amount!  Can't wait to see what you enter.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Christmas Ornaments

Well, the first Monday in November finally arrived and that means the challenge at Jan's Digi Stamps is BACK!  Woohoo!  The whole team is so excited and some of us are sharing a new image from Jan called Holiday Ornaments 2021 and it will be FREE starting today and running through Christmas, then it will be retired.  So, head over to the JDS shop and grab it while you can.

I started out by coloring the star gold and the baubles green and next thing I knew I only had green ProMarkers on my desk along with a gold paint pen.  Once the image was colored, I used  QuicKutz rectangular die to cut it, then did the corners with a Fiskar's punch.

The sentiment was cut with a small circle die, also from QuicKutz.  I matted the image with shiny, gold CS and rounded the corners.  I chose a green card base, wrapped it with gold, sparkle ribbon, and added the matted image piece on top.  Very CAS, even though the open space isn't white.  :-D

I used an archive sketch from Sketch Saturday,
turned a quarter turn to fit the shape of my image.

     Challenges:

Come play with us in our challenge.  We know it's been a few months since you could do that and we really want to see all of our regular players returning this month.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Christmas Gnomes

This delightfully fun stack of Christmas Gnomes (which is on sale this entire month!) is from Conie Fong and I created it as my DT card for this week.  Remember, on the Facebook site we have two separate challenges each month; one is for coloring only and the other is for finished projects.  You must use a Conie Fong image to enter either one but you could win some additional Conie Fong images, too,  Wouldn't that be fun?  :-D

I colored with my ProMarkers, used glitter on the star and the centers of the poinsettias, then cut both the image and the mats using dies from Tonic Studios.  The sparkly ribbon was in my stash and the bow was tied with a tiny bit of ribbon I found in the scrap basket.

I chose my colors from the bottom row of the
#465 Tic Tac Toe board at CMH Color Dare:
Candy Apple, Harbour, and Evergreen, plus I added gold for the star
and Toffee for their shoes.

     Challenges:

Come play with us.  Our two challenges are open all month long and all you need is a Conie Fong image to enter.  The theme is always Anything Goes.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie
