It's Back to School

Well, school is back in session! The second full week is coming to an end. My year has gotten off to a great start! Our principal is a strong leader that has set the tone for a great year. The building looks better than ever, my class sizes are perfect, the students have been eager to learn, and I love the ladies I work with in my department! It is amazing what a difference a year makes. I got the best compliment ever today and it has definitely reminded me that I have the best job ever and why I chose this profession in the first place. This student announced to me at the beginning of class that her mom wanted to schedule a conference with me. I was a little worried and asked her why. She told me that her mom wanted to meet me because she goes home every night talking about my class. She said she had not enjoyed school and learned so much since elementary school! It touched my heart to hear that! Wow!

Gabi has started off the year with a bang as well! We've had a few rough mornings getting adjusted to waking up early but other than that I think she is enjoying her year. She is excited to have homework this year! Imagine that! She loves coming home and having something to work on. Yesterday she was tested for the gifted program and couldn't wait to go back to school this morning to finish up the test. I'm anxious to hear how she did. She loves to learn and she could really benefit from the pull out program. So we are off to a great start! Here's to another year!
