TODAY I...

TODAY I... am joining in with a Thrifty Mrs

TODAY I... was driven into the 'City'...1 hours drive away.

 Bollnas by Swedish standards is a 'City' of 25,000 + residents. To me and my English family and friends it's a town...

A town with a little t.

 Bollnas is twinned with the English town Sheppton Mallett

TODAY I ... had our poor car repaired.

 Our VOLVO 740 has been worked like a pack horse.

Carting all our wordly possesions from UK to Sweden

NOT once, twice, three times, but FOUR times!!

All in the space of less than 2 years.

 Extreme cold temperatures
 combined with pot holed forest tracks have not helped either.

 Resulting in it's rear suspension...giving up on us!

Some 2 hours and 4,000 SEK later we are now

 BOUNCING around town like T-I-G-G-E-R!

TODAY I... as we walked through town I photographed
 with my i-phone some graffitti, a statue, and a church 

TODAY I...walked 12 kilometres in the snow with the one I love.

TODAY I ...registered for places to rent in town...

TODAY I...kept away from the 'Loppis' shops, but if I had had more time I wouldn't have!

TODAY I...

Yesterday I spent a little time crafting...

 First I painted and distressed the little wooden box

I found the bird image in a freebie Swedish decorating Magazine

 I pulled the page out and kept it...

I knew it would come in handy one day!

I roughly measured each section and cut the card-paper to size

In my haste I merrilly cut of 3 square the same size

This is where I went wrong...oops

The middle section is actually bigger...

So my square was too small & didn't fit

It doesn't matter...

I just left the middle section blank.

I quite like it!

Oh...and don't forget to feed the birds!

My man is finally on his way back home from London.

It has been a loooooong week

 Where is your one and only when you neeeeeeeed him????

Why does it always happen when they are away?

Sweden has been experiencing its coldest weather for a century.

And last Thursday, Central Sweden had a huge snow storm ...

We woke on Friday morning to temperatures of - MINUS 28!

SNOW like I have never seen...

so much so

We were snowed in!

My car was almost buried and a tractor came and ploughed all the snow so that we could get out

 Central Sweden came to a halt on Friday

The boys could not get to school

By Saturday morning cabin fever had set in...

Little J decided to relieve the boredom,by being helpful, chopping fire wood wih his scout hatchett...

He almost axed his thumb off!!!

 A 1 hour drive to the nearest hospital and 6 stitches later

We live to tell the tale

BOYS  GRRR...!

at a local

 'Loppis'

I bought it last summer

It is all in working order

I LOVE the zingy spring green colour!

YOU SAY TOMATO...AND I SAY TOMAHTO

I rescued these from my local ICA recycling depot

These large catering aluminium cans were sat on top of the plastic's 

Put into the wrong recycling bin...

My lucky day!

They came back home with me to be

RECYCLED!

I may even plant these cans up with some tomatoe plants growing in them...

For the moment though...

The cans look good and colourful in my kitchen
