My Way!! Going Grey With Scrap-Creations Week 8

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday! Being Tuesday means that it is time for another great challenge for you to play along with us at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations. The challenge this week is this really fun sketch
I used an image from Mo's Digital Pencil for this card. I can't resist her images of the cutest kids! This one especially has so much personality. I also did my card in pink and brown because I found myself coloring everything I colored during vacation in blues so I decided she would be cute in pink! I think I need to change the sentiment though. What do you think?

The other ladies has done a fabulous job this week with this sketch. Be sure to stop by and let each one of them know what you think of their creation!

I hope you come play with us this week. We really love to see what others have done with our challenges. Just remember the only thing you need is to use Basic Grey paper on your creation and have fun!

Here are some other challenges that fit my card
Dare You to Digi Friday Challenge #36-The challenge this week is to use flowers somewhere on your creation. I used my Prima roses that I love!

Crafty Ann's Challenge #13-This challenge is a recipe, 1 main digi image, a max of 3 colors, 1 ribbon, and 3 flowers. I loved this recipe.

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #47-This is a color challenge, pink and brown!

Hand Full of Stamps Challenge #25-Use Up That Stock is the challenge. You are to use 2 different pieces of DP on your creation. THAT'S NOT A PROBLEM FOR ME because DP seems to multiply on its own at my house!

Res-Q Challenge-This is an inspiration challenge. Look at the page of umbrellas and pick the one that inspires you. I chose the pink gerber daisy one and used the color as my inspiration!

Hope Stamps Eternal Cupcake Challenge #56-My inspiration from this cupcake is the colors, pink and brown. It is a great cupcake this week!

I hope you have a minute to check out these wonderful challenges and maybe even play along!

Supplies
Stamps- Mo's Digital Pencil Stamps, SU(saying)

Family Vacation, 3CTC26

It is hot, hot, hot here today. I like the heat but this is too much! I have been working to try to use up all the summer images that I have done and not put on a card yet. This cute bear family looks like any average family on vacation at Cape Cod right? The image is one of Dustin Pike's.
This is a second card that I made for Kerry's Thursday Challenge, 3CTC26, use a digi image or paper on your card.

I like that he didn't put in a lot of detail so I could add it myself. On Papa Bear's shirt I added the white lines with my white Signo pen. On Brother Bear's swimsuit I added the stripes and little Sis got a polka dot bikini and bow. I decided to go this route instead of paper piecing so as not to waste DP running it through the printer. I also tried to give the impression that the sister wore her sunglasses in the sun and when she took off the glasses the outline was left. I also tried to give most of the family a pink tint from a day in the sun!

The whole back round was colored except the towels. The top half of the bears is double popped up to give them a real 3D effect. I made the card itself a little different this time. I knew I wanted to use my cheesecloth BG stamp. It didn't show up so well behind the stamped back round so I made the card front, mounted it on the blue card and then backed the blue card on the stamped cheesecloth back round. The only thing doing it this way is the card doesn't stand up on its own.

Supplies
Stamps: Dustin Pike, SU, Rubber Stamp Tapestry, All Night Media, Amuse and Seaside Stampin' Ink
Ink: SU Creamy Caramel, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and Copics
Accessories: Cloudmaker, White Signo Pen, White Pearl Paint, SU Glitter, Hero Arts Star Jewels and Crab Punch

Thanks so much for stopping by to see my creation. I hope it made you smile and maybe brought back a memory of a day at the beach with your family.

Enjoy the day,
Mary

You're Invited, Copic Creations #9, 3CTC26

I have been having a lot of fun being able to just play most of the day.I have three weeks until school starts again for the year. I decided I would combine two challenges this week. When I saw that the Copic Creations challenge #9 was eyes I started going through all my stamps and realized that I didn't have any stamps with great eyes except this Dustin Pike image. This was one of the many great images that I got during his super sale. It was so much fun to color and make it seem like it was jumping out at you. I read all the tutorials about doing eyes and they were very helpful. I did decide that I wanted his eyes to reflect the idea that they are submerged in the swampy water a lot, that is why I did orange on the sides of the eyes.

I also realized that this card was perfect for Kerry's Thursday challenge this week, 3CTC26, to use a digital image or back round. I have hundreds of stamps some that haven't even seen ink yet but I still find myself using digital images a lot. There are so many wonderful ones out there now. I will always love my rubber but am happy to find a new way to create with paper and color!

I really had a lot of fun making this card. The whole card is colored with Copics except the saying. I even colored on my stamp with Copics and then misted it with alcohol and stamped it over the water colored with Copics. It worked really well. The cat n' nine tails were made with a new set of Spellbinder dies I bought a stamping convention in June. They are supposed to be for words but they worked for these also.

Supplies:
Stamps: SU, Dustin Pike Digi Stamps
Paper: Papertrey white SU Summer Sun, Kiwi Kiss,Choc. Chip
Ink: Copics
Accessories: Spellbinder dies, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Cloudmaker, Dragonfly punch

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have enjoyed this card. I really appreciate all your wonderful comments, they really make my day.

Hot Days, Cool Treats, 3CTC25

I have been playing a lot this week since summer school ended. I have three weeks until we start school for the fall. I have had this cute Sugar Nellie stamp for a while now and just got around to using her. When I saw Kerry weekly challenge, 3CTC25, was summery I knew she would be perfect for it, after all who doesn't cool off with an ice cream when it's hot like right now.

The colors that I used for this card are definitely not colors that are in my comfort zone. I thought this paper screamed summer though and luckily it matched the colors enough that I colored the image with. Did you notice the flowers in the corner? Rubber Stamp Tapestry's blog showed how to fold regular Prima type flowers to get a totally different effect with them. I used my CTMH flowers because they came with these leaves. I really like the look that you get without having to spend money on new flowers! The brad in the center of the circle is a SU Build a Brad. I stamped a RST flower and colored it, punched it out and put on the brad. I have had these brads for a long time I just never think to use them, unfortunately I have a lot of stuff that I forget about using.

Supplies:
Stamps: Sugar Nellie, SU, Rubber Stamp Tapestry
Paper: SU Old Olive, The Paper Co. Shimmer white, Papertrey White and DP Basic Grey, Sassafras
Ink: Copics, Memento Black, SU Bashful Blue and Pixie Pink
Accessories: Nesties, MS Punch, SU Build a Brad, CTMH flowers, Stickles, Crystal Effects, Michaels pearl stickers and ribbon

I hope you enjoyed my card. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment, it is very much appreciated.
Enjoy your day,
Mary

3CTC8, Springtime Friends

I made this card for Kerry's Thursday Challenge, 3CTC8. These are definitely not my usual colors of choice. Always Artichoke, So Saffron and Rose Red are very pretty together just a bit hard to work with wanting to color with blues and purples, my colors of comfort.

It is finally beginning to look and sound like Spring here in New England. This bunny didn't exactly remind me of an Easter bunny so I decided on a Springtime bunny. I hope we see some real ones hopping around here soon! I bought a cloud maker template a short time ago and I love the way the sky comes out using it. I colored the grasses and the flower to match the color challenge but I really like bunnies to be gray or brown and I always color my birds blue. I didn't have any ribbon to match so I ran white ribbon across my ink pad so it would match the Always Artichoke DP. A trick that Kerry taught me many years ago.

Supplies:
Stamps: SU and Hero Arts
CS: SU Always Artichoke, So Saffron, Rose Red and DP SU 6x6 pack
Ink: SU Always Artichoke, So Saffron, Rose Red, Memento Black and Copics
Accessories: Nesties, Michael's Ribbon, Hero Arts Rhinestones and Dew Drops

Thanks for stopping by to see what I created.
Please come again soon,
Mary

Happy Birthday Kerry!!!

This card was made for Kerry's Thursday challenge, 3CTC6, it had to be a purple B'Day card with lots of glitter. I don't remember if she said "lots" of glitter or just glitter but I love glitter so I don't think you can ever have too much on a card, KWIM!

A good friend, Michelle, let my my sister Peggy and myself stamp some of these really cute Whipper Snapper images. Thanks so much Michelle! I really loved this mouse and thought of him right away for Kerry's card. It was brought to my attention the other day that all the cards I have made lately have been square cards. I was going to make this only the regular size but couldn't make everything fit right on it and didn't want to take anything away from it so it's square once again.

Tomorrow is Kerry's B'Day so I wanted to make sure I wished her a very Happy Birthday filled with lots of fun! How many candles should this little mouse place on the cake, Twenty-four maybe?

Supplies:
Stamps: Whipper Snapper, The Artful Stamper, SU
CS: SU Lovely Lilac, Shimmer paper, sticky glitter paper, and DP Reminisce
Ink: Lovely Lilac, Memento black and Copics
Accessories: SU glitter, Nesties, CB embossing folder, misc. brads and LSS ribbon

Thanks for looking, please leave a comment about what you like about this card if you have a minute, it's very much appreciated.

Visit again soon,

Long Time Coming!!!

Do you know how awful it is when your computer is not working!!! Mine has been running exceptionally slow during the weekend but I just thought it was a temporary thing, then Monday when I got home from school I realized it was not working at all! I did everything I could think of to try and get it working again, no such luck. Many calls to our cable company got it working only to have it last a short time and then out it went again. Finally by tonight after some new equipment and a very nice cable lady, it is fixed. Oh what withdrawals our whole house was having without it.

I did this card for Kerry's inspiration challenge last Thursday, 3CTC4, I finished it on Monday. Did I mention I decided I don't like inspiration challenges, too many choices for me. I did decide it wasn't going to get the best of me so I decided on choosing the colors and making it a BDay card. I couldn't find any DP that had the colors so I made my own with RST peg stamps and Stickles. I couldn't upload the card until tonight right before Kerry posts a new challenge tomorrow, better late than never, right?

Kerry I did think of you the whole time I was making the card because of the CS that I used. Remember when Peggy and I first started coming to your stamp camps and we refused to spend the money on SU CS. We figured Michaels was just as good and cheaper! You kept trying to tell us we were making a big mistake! Oh how we should have listened to you right away instead of months later I think it was when I finally bought the SU to match the inks. To make this card I dug out that old Michael's CS for those bright colors and cringed at how thin it was and not very good to work with. I have a huge stash of it still in the cellar.

Supplies:
Stamps: Rubber Stamp Tapestry and SU
CS: Michaels brights and shimmer white
Ink: SU Pixie Pink, Green Galore, Gable Green, Yoyo Yellow, Only Orange
Accessories:SU glitter, Nesties, MS punch, hole punches, flower punches, and corner punch, Stickles, brads

I have my card just about done for Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch, I'll post it tomorrow after school. So check back then.

Thanks for looking

TSSC60 Looks Like Spring

It felt like Spring here over the weekend, then on Monday it SNOWED! I am sick of all this winter weather that just won't go away. I colored this pretty stamp to remind me that Spring is close and hopefully the last snow is now melting away! I hope anyway.
This card was made for Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge, TSSC60. It was harder for me than I thought it would be. I changed my mind about the strips on the top many times. Actually I never would have thought this paper would have gone the best after I colored the image, I guess you just never know till you try different things! The butterfly was stamped and colored twice so I could cut one out and pop part of it up to give the illusion of it flying. I also painted it with sky blue Shimmerz so it would look like it was soft. The flowers were stickled so they would look a bit like morning dew with the sun hitting them. I tried out my new cloud maker on the backround, boy do I love that thing, it makes it so easy and fast to make a different shaped clouds. I did the clouds really light because it was my first time using it with an image that was already colored and I didn't want to make a mistake.
Supplies:
Stamps: SU, Rubber Stamp Tapestry
CS: SU Baha Breeze, Neenah white, and DP SU
Ink: SU Choc Chip, Copics
Accessories: Nesties, Shimmerz, Stickles, SU scallop punch, antique brads and clip, Michael's ribbon
Thanks for stopping by and looking. Let me know if you like what I have created!

Flowers for my Friend

This is the card I made for Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge, TSSC58,
this week. I really like the sketches that she has and see myself using them on many of the other cards I make after the week has passed. If you like sketches or just want to see some other wonderful cards done with the sketch you should check out Mary Jo's blog.
This SU stamp set is one of my favorites because of the way it comes out coloring it with Copics. I decided that I would stay simple ( for me anyway) with this card. I love this new dotted paper that came in my SU 6x6 paper pack so it was used also.

Supplies:
Stamps: SU and PSX (phrase)
CS: SU Night of Navy, CTMH textured white, Neenah white and SU DP
Ink: Night of Navy and Copics
Accessories: Nesties, MS punch,Prima and Hero Arts flowers and misc. brads

I am back to school after a wonderful week off and looking forward to Spring and warmer weather. Please check back soon to see what I have worked on.

Thanks for looking

Eternal Love

I was ready to move on to Valentine's Day cards and then we were hit with another snow and ice storm! I decided to combine the two on this card. I have owned this stamp for a few years and still love it every time I pull it out and stamp it. This is the first time I have colored it with my Copics though.

A good friend suggested that I try Techno Stamper's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge. This card is for this week's sketch, TSSC #54. It was a really fun sketch to do, Thanks Mary-Jo for inviting others, like me, to join in on the fun! I am already looking forward to the next one.

Some of the colors on the card are off a bit. The DP paper is actually a bit pinkier and brighter. It looks washed out here. There is also Shimmerz on the snow part of the snow people, the heart and around the edge of the circle and the sentiment. I just can't seem to catch it with the camera. SU glitter is at the edge of the snow and the shadows around the heart. The dots on the paper came glittered already. The whole card sparkles a lot IRL.

Supplies:
Stamps: Impression Obsession and SU
Inks: Memento, Versafine, SU Pink Pirouette and Copics
CS: CTMH textured white, SU Pixie Pink, Neenah white and DP Making Memories
Accessories: MS gemstone sticker heart, Nesties, CB Embossing folder, Shimmerz, SU Glitter and Corner Punch , misc. brads and Signo pen

I hope you enjoyed this card. I am definitely moving on to more Valentine and anything but snow cards, so check back soon!

Thanks for looking,
Mary
