Get Well Soon Wish

If any of you read my post two days ago I was hoping for a snow day to stay home, play and make some cards, it didn't happen. But to my surprise I turned on the tv when I got up yesterday to get ready for school and it was canceled! I guess with all the strong winds and rain many people were without power, so they canceled school! This card is what I played with and finished.

I bought this DP on a whim at Michaels one day a couple of weeks ago. It was a 6x6 pack and all the paper is glittered. Not the normal colors that I would buy but it definitely caught my eye. Turns out it also matched Primas that I bought at one of the stamping conventions that I went to last Spring and had never used. The sketch had a strip down the side and so I wanted to do something different besides just running the ribbon straight down so I used glue dots and made it ripple like ribbon candy. It looks a lot better in real life than in the pic, does add dimension to the card. Where I was making a get well card I wanted a bit of elegance so I used a lot of pearls on it also. It took me most of the day to finish it because I kept changing things on it but in the end I was happy with it.

These are the challenges that it fits

Stampin' For The Weekend-I used the sketch from this challenge on this card, it is a great sketch.
Cute Card Thursday Challenge 101-Ribbon-tastic is the challenge this week, I love using ribbon on cards.
C.R.A.F.T Challenge 39-This challenge is a recipe, use ribbon and have sparkle. I used a shimmery ribbon and all the DP is glittered!
Raise The Bar Challenge #7-Three's Company is their challenge this week. They was use to use three of something our choice. I used 3 of 2 different flowers, 3 different size pearls, and more than 3 punched out leaves.
Pile It On Challenge #7-The challenge they would like us to do this week is a Get Well Soon card.
I hope this card would cheer up someone who is not feeling well.
Creative Card Crew Challenge 45-Their challenge this week is also a get well soon card. It is so nice to know you can someone feel better with a handcrafted card made from the heart.
Spoonful of Sugar Challenge 92-This challenge was to use distress inks(if you have them), pearls and glitter. I have never used distress inks so I used my Copics to color the image but I did use lots of pearls and I used glittered DP.

I hope you liked this card that I created. It was definitely one of the longer times it took to make it. I hope that it has inspired you to create a card for a challenge you like. These were all fantastic ones this week.

My BFF

It snowed here in the early morning hours then turned into a cold rain, the kind of day to stay in and create. Too bad we still had school so I packed a bag of crafting stuff because I was really in the card making mood and I decided to spend my lunchtime finishing up this card.

I really love this image from Mo's Digital Pencil, she is so cute! It was one of the few times I picked the DP first and then colored to match it. I also knew I wanted to use these pink feathery, lace flowers that I have had for years and couldn't ever seem to find the right use for them, till now. I decided to distress this card because it kind of went with the image and DP. I really like the way it came out, after I looked at the card posted I think I should have stamped some little flowers on the saying or made it smaller too much white showing I think, next time I'll know better.

Here are the challenges that this card fits

Paper Sundaes Sixth Challenge-Their challenge was to do some distressing on your card. I used my distressing tool on every layer. This is my first time trying their challenges, lots of fun!
Crazy 4 Challenges C4C25-The challenge is this great sketch that I used, I loved working with this one!
Practical Scrappers Challenge-Their challenge was fun because it is to use stamps, rubber, digi,
acrylic or foam, your choice. I chose DIGI, though I love rubber too!
Lexi's Creations Challenge #8-This is an easy challenge this week, the challenge is "anything goes", how fun is that!
Incy Wincy Challenge 31-Their challenge is Touchy Feely, add some texture to your project. My card has lots, the distressing, the embossed flower panel, and the lace flowers. Great challenge!
Dare U 2 Digi Challenge 31-Use your punches and a digi of course. I punched the branches around the flowers and the swirls around the saying.
Cupcake Crafts Challenge 79-The challenge this week is friends. What little boy or girl who had a pet didn't think of them as their best friend in the whole world, just like these two cuties!
Saturday Spotlight Challenge SSHP19-Doing the Mess Around is the challenge. They want you to distress your card. I love the look of distressed edges on a card, fun challenge!
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge FTTC55-The challenge is to use flowers on your creation. I put three of these lacey flowers together to make this flower. So glad I found their great blog!

Supplies
Stamps- Mo's Digital Pencil Digi stamps, Hero Arts(saying)
Paper- SU Green Galore, Pixie Pink CS, Papertrey White CS, Basic Grey DP
Inks- Copics, SU Pixie Pink Ink
Accessories- Nesties, MS Branch Punch, Paper Shaper Swirl Punch, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Lacy Flowers, Recollection Sticker Pearls

Spring Bathtime

It has been so long since I have posted a card. This was suppose to be a easy school vacation week with lots of time to play, but I found myself busy with everything but stamping! I finally found time to color and create this weekend. I am posting this late because I couldn't miss the hockey game between the USA and Canada, our house lives and breathes hockey!

I also have a thank you give to my sister Peggy for giving me this so cute digi stamp from Sew Many Stamps and a special thank you to the lovely ladies at Sew Many Challenges for letting Peggy share this digi that she won from them with me. So this is my heartfelt thanks to you for being so nice.

I wanted this card to be bright and sparkly so I used DP that was glittered and all the water has Crystal Effects on it, it is hard to see in the photo. I used my cloudmaker on the back round because I wanted the image to stand out and I created the saying on the computer so it would match the image! I made matching dew drops by coloring clear ones with my Copics, it works great!

I found some wonderful challenges that this card fits so here they are

Sew Many Challenges Wk #5-Their challenge this week is a fun sketch
Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 14-The Challenge this week is to use a digital image on your card. My image is from Sew Many Cards, it is so cute don't you think?
Lots To Do wk #7-This fun challenge is to use a machine, I use my Cuttlebug to make the circles and the embossed bubbles.
Lexi's Creations Challenge 7-This challenge was great because you need to make your creation spotted or striped, I did both because I love both dotted things and all kinds of stripes!
Fab n' Funky Challenge #11-"Childish", the challenge fit perfectly with my card because you needed a card for a baby or child.
Spoonful of Sugar Challenge #91-Spring Is In The Air is the challenge and boy am I ready for Spring and so is this little duck!
Little Red Wagon Challenge #16-The challenge is to use ribbon, I love polka dot ribbon so it was the first ribbon I reached for when I made this card!
Stamp Something Challenge-Touch of Spring is the challenge and I am so happy to finally be making "Spring" cards!
The Pink Elephant Challenge #54-This challenge is a recipe challenge, the recipe is easy use ribbon! Now that is fun and easy.

Forever in Love

With Valentine's Day just around the corner I thought that I better get to work on my husband's Valentine's Day card. He isn't one to like all the red and pinks or hearts everywhere so making a card for him is a challenge every year. When I first saw this digi from at Mo's Digital Pencil I knew it was the perfect image for the card. My hubby is always laughing that we are getting old (not this old yet) though he is the one with the grey hair!

I like making a Valentine card that is non traditional, especially because I love these colors together, they are my favorite colors also, and it makes me think a bit more about how I create the card, KWIM. I am really happy with the way it came out and I am sure Don will like it.

These are the challenges that this card works with
Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #17-This was a fun challenge because you had to have wood or "would" on your card. My park bench is wood so it works!
ABC Challenge-This challenge is N for new. My digi that I used is new I just bought it this week.
Challenge Up Your Life Challenge #13-This is a Valentine challenge and you need to include hearts with your creation. I have 3 hearts on the top and also I used a heart border punch so I guess I covered.
Cute Card Thursday Challenge 98-The challenge this week is to use spots and dots on your card. I used polka dot DP and I embossed the navy cs with my dotted swiss embossing folder.
Double Dutch DDC#36-This challenge, Be My Valentine says it all. Since I made this card for my husband for Valentine's Day I think it fits this challenge though not a traditional valentine.
Fab 'n' Funky Challenge #9-The challenge this week is "emboss it". I love to emboss for texture on a card so I embossed the back round cs with my dotted swiss embossing folder.
Magical Crafts Challenge #7-Another wonderful challenge that is a valentine card. The DT cards are so cute with the love bugs that they used!
Creative Belli Challenge #84-This challenge was really fun because it was to use ribbons on your card. I almost didn't use it on this card but couldn't imagine not having a bow on it!
Frosted Designs Challenge-With Valentine's Day just around the corner how fitting to have a valentine challenge, helps me to get to work on my Valentine cards lots of great inspiration to see!
Papertake Weekly Challenge-Love Actually is the challenge, how perfect for a valentine challenge!
Charizma Cards Challenge #5-I Love You, is this week's challenge. I hope my husband thinks that this card says this to him!
Stamp Something Challenge-Love Somethings is the challenge this week. I think this image definitely says love. Great challenge this week.
Crazy For Challenges C4C23- This is another wonderful challenge with the theme of Valentine's Day, Be My Valentine. This is a great challenge blog!

If you have a minute check out all these wonderful challenge blogs. They work hard each week to come up with fantastic challenges for everyone to play along with them. Lots of fun to play along!

My Vintage Valentine

I was looking at all the wonderful challenges that are going on right now and there was one that really caught my eye. It was a challenge that is is over at the Cuttlebug blog. The challenge is to make a vintage valentine. So I thought no problem, sounds like fun. I worked on this card for about two days. Vintage is not so easy especially if you want that collage or shabby sheik sort of look. I finally decided on a different direction with a more elegant look by using pearls, crocheted lace, dressy ribbons, and petite yet elegant flowers. I thought of lots of different textures to use and decided to use green (not normally thought of when you think valentines) with the pinks for my colors. I also thought this pale DP would also add to the vintage feel.

I just bought this digi stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil and thought that I would take love in a different direction by showing love through the eyes of a child. I am sure most of us have a wonderful memory of a special doll that you loved well after you stopped playing with dolls anymore. It is a valentine love filled with innocence and purity. Hopefully I will find a special little someone to give this Valentine to.

There are lots of wonderful challenges this week so this card also fit perfectly for some others
Cuttlebug Challenge #68-Vintage Valentine, I hope I came close enough to vintage and a valentine.
Little Red Wagon Challenge #13-Their challenge this week was to use hearts on your card. I used a doily heart that I sponged pale green, a large heart that I cut from my Spellbinder's Heart Nesties, and a small gold heart charm.
PaperPlay Challenge Week 4-The challenge this week was a color challenge, pink, green, and white. These colors are really pretty together so it was easy to use them on my card.
KL Stampin and Scrappin Challenge #15-The challenge for this week is a fantastic sketch. It was a really fun one that worked perfectly with my theme.
Creative Belli Challenge #83- Their challenge is to use things you have hanging around your craft area, this week it is hearts. I have them everywhere so I couldn't pass up playing this fun challenge!
Dare U 2 Digi stamp Challenge #30-The challenge is always to use a digi stamp, I used one of Mo's Digital Pencils digis and also have hearts on you creation. You can never have too many hearts right?
If The Shoe Fits Fashionista Friday #20-This challenge is to make a vintage creation. There are some wonderful DT samples to see on their blog, you should check them out!
Fussy and Fancy Challenge #3-This is a great blog for challenges and they have come up with a wonderful one for Valentine's day, create a card using hearts! Be sure to pop over to their challenge blog and check them out you'll love it!
Raise The Bar Challenge #3-This challenge was a great one for me, it is to use old DP on your creation. I have been trying to clean up and out my crafting area and have lots of old paper that I hoarded and then forgot about. These are two of the papers that I found!
Hand Full of Stamps Challenge #14-I Give You My Heart, this challenge is to use hearts, they can be stamped, paper or an embellishment. How easy is that for a challenge, you should come play along!
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #68-This is another great challenge that asks you to use at least one HEART on you card! It is really hard to stop at just one!
Lexi's Creations Challenge #6-This is a new challenge spot for me. The challenge this week is to create a Valentine! I really like being challenged with fun themes.

These are all fantastic challenges to play along with, stop by and try a few of them. They are all so much fun!

Olympic Downhill Skiing!!!

It is really rainy and warm here in New England today. I am hoping it washes away a lot of the old snow that is on the ground before the next batch comes maybe on Saturday!
I love this High Hopes stamp. I was lucky enough to be given it by Crissy Armstrong. I didn't realize how cute it was until I inked it up and fell in love with it. There is so many adds for the Olympics lately I decided to make a card with the Winter Games in mind. It was also screaming out for lots of sparkle so I glittered a lot of the card! I wanted to make the image look like it was on the snow so I cut out the top half and "popped" it up only on the upper part to pull it away from the sky. I used my cloud maker to give the look of puffy clouds. Just something different to try for a change.

These are the challenges that it fits
ABC Challenge-M is for Masking. I masked the clouds in the back round with my cloud maker.
Little Red Wagon Challenge #12-Snowflakes, I made the large snowflake in the corner with felt, paper and iridescent flakes then covered with glitter and a Dew Drop.
Stamp Something-This challenge is to stamp something funny. I thought the idea of a polar bear participating in the Olympics was funny.
Fussy and Fancy Challenge 2-The challenge this week is winter. I would say this fits. This is my first time playing along with this challenge and I have to say it is a great challenge.
Double Dutch Challenge DDC 35-Baby It's Cold Outside, make something that is cold or frosty!
I love this challenge because I would rather have the frosty on a card not outside! Fantastic theme.
Fab 'n' Funky Challenge #7-This is a color challenge, blue, green and white. I love these three colors together!
Challenge Up Your Life #12-Another new challenge that looks like fun,the challenge is snow and ice. It always makes me think, pull out the glitter to make everything look icy on a card!
Raise the Bar Challenge #2-This challenge was really fun, The Gift That Keeps On Giving. You are to use something on the card that someone gave you. My daughter gave both myself and my sister some felt snowflakes as part of a gift. Also the stamp was given to me by Crissy Armstrong, I just love her stamps.
Charisma Cardz Challenge #3-The challenge this week is fruity colors! It was so much fun to think "fruity", my green is for grapes and blue for blueberries. This challenge was really a lot of fun!
Totally Gorjuss Challenge-This challenge was a bit different. You need to add dimension to your card. I cut out the top half of the image and then popped up just the top half to give the illusion that he was on top of the snow. I hope it looks that way.
Hand Full of Stamps Challenge #13-Swirls, Swirls, Swirls. I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder to creat swirls on my card. This is one of my favorite embossing folders! This was a fantastic challenge!

Valentine Love Potion

I decided I needed a break from wintry cards for a bit so I decided to make a Valentine's Day card. I just got this new DP when my sister, daughter and I took a road trip up to NH on Saturday to by some new Copics at a great store in Dover, NH. I seem to have lots of Valentine things that I bought and haven't used yet. This is one of the cute stamps from Kraftin' Kimmies that I got for Christmas, I just love the idea of the love potion. I just got the Spellbinder heart nesties and couldn't wait to use them. Everything just seemed to fall into place when making this card!

There was lots of challenges that would fit this card so here they are

Crazy For Challenges C4C20-This challenge had the great sketch that I used for this card, it was great because it left a lot of room for my own interpretation.
Allsorts Challenge Week 35-The challenge this week is to use the colors brown and pink, I love these colors together!
One Stop Craft Challenge 63-They asked us to use fancy edges or corners. I used both on my card and both with a heart theme to them.
Polka Doodles week 2-This challenge is all about love and what says love better that a love potion like this one in the image!
Crafty Creations Challenge 51-The challenge this week is Valentines or love. I think this cute image makes a great Valentine and will also put a smile on a face. Who wouldn't like a bottle of love potion.
Quixotic Challenge #10-My old stamp is the Be Mine I used on the heart. I have had this stamp for many, many years. It is part of a Rubber Stamp Tapestry set. It is the perfect size and saying for a Valentine card so I use it often on my Valentine cards.
Creative Card Crew Challenge 43-The challenge is punch it. I love punches so this was an easy challenge. I used a Paper Shaper corner punch and a MS heart border punch.
Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge 87-This challenge this week is to use lots of layers. I love using layers on my card the more the better! Fun challenge to do.
Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp Challenge #13-A color combo, pink, red, and chocolate with hearts! This combination makes a great challenge. I used the colors pink and chocolate when I colored then added red hearts for shine on the card. This stamp was so much fun to play with.
Papertake Weekly Challenge-This challenge Pretty Pink Papertake, is to use mostly pink on your card. I have lots of different shades of pink on this card. Didn't really plan it when I started working on it just kind of evolved into it. I really like pinks so all is good!

These are all fantastic challenges, take a minute to check them out and play along with the ones you like!

Supplies

Stamps: Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, Rubber Stamp Tapestry

Paper: SU Choc. Chip , CS, Papertrey White CS, DP

Snow Much Fun!

We are expecting quite a bit of heavy, wet snow tonight and tomorrow here in our part of New England. I am so sick of it unless it is on a card, like this one. Don't you just love this digi from Mo's Digital Pencil. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it, I think its that cute face.

I also wanted to do the card in blue but couldn't find any DP in the right shades I colored the image so I stamped the back round instead with my Rubber Stamp Tapestry snowflake set. It is definitely one of my favorite sets. Also you can't tell from the pic but the whole back round was dabbed with Stickles and Dazzling Diamonds on the pompoms, snowflakes, and Flower Soft snow on the image.

These are the challenges that this card works for
Mo's Pigital Pencil Challenge #14-this challenge was a really fun sketch to do, it worked perfectly with the image!
Digital Tuesday Challenge #41-This challenge was Emboss it! I embossed the bottom panel on the card with snowflakes.
Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC12-This challenge was a color, 3 different shades of blue. Between the image and the back round I think I came close to all 3 shades in their challenge.
Crafty Creations Challenge #50-This challenge is to use 3 different textures. I used Flower Soft, dry embossing, glitter, and ribbon.
Charisma Cardz Challenge #2-This challenge is Anything New. How is easy that. I used my new digi from Mo's Digital Pencil, new iridescent snowflakes from JoAnns, and new light blue Recollection sticker pearls from Michaels.
Stamp Something Challenge-This challenge was to use two colors blue and white. My most favorite colors for anything! What fun I had.
3 Clovers Thursday Challenge #47-Baby, Its cold outside is the challenge this week. I am definitely trying to play with all my new winter stamps and images before it isn't cold out anymore.
Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential SSHP14-This challenge is to go wild with snowflakes!!
I went wild by stamping my whole back round with snowflakes instead of using a DP. I do love snowflakes.
Crafty Ann's Challenge #6-Embossing! I love using my Cuttlebug embossing folders when I emboss, can't imagine what I did before I had them. The one I used, snowflakes, is one of my favorites.

These were a lot of fun to do this week. I want to thank all these lovely ladies for coming up with new, fun and sometimes challenging challenges for us to play along with.

Walking In A Winter Wonderland

Don't you just love this stamp from Whimsy stamps! When I saw this stamp it brought back a wonderful memory of a dog we used to have that loved the snow when it was falling and would chase snowflakes and try to bite at them as they fell. This is another stamp that I got in my stocking this Christmas. My daughter went all out to make sure I got lots of stamping toys this year.
I used lots of sparkle on this card and I even used Crystal Effects on the tongue to make it seem wet from the snowflakes.

Once again I found some great challenges to fit this card. I am really liking all the great challenges that are out there to participate in!

Stamp with Fun Challenge 41-Snowflakes is the challenge this week. The image has snowflakes and I also made a snowflake with felt and different punched snowflakes then covered it with Twinklets.
Lots To Do Challenge-I thought this card fit this challenge perfectly, it reminds me of a wonderland I'd like to visit!
Crafty Catz Challenge #14-This challenge is bright and sparkly, I have glitter, jewel snowflakes, a sparkly snowflake and an embossed glittery back round paper. No pastel colors on this card!
Creative Inspirations Challenge 43- This challenge is New Year, New Products. I used new jewel snowflakes and felt snowflakes I just got from my LSS.
Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 121-I loved this sketch, simple but lots of fun to play with!
Crafty Ann's Challenge #5- This challenge is New Year, New Inspiration, My inspiration was to use my new stamp to show my family how much I love them for wanting to give me new stamping things that I loved.

Chasing The Chill Away!

It has been awhile since I have found the time to post. This is a new stamp that I bought for myself right before Christmas. I actually got a few more of the Kraftin' Kimmie stamps and then my daughter bought me some for Christmas as part of my present from her and my son. It definitely was a crafty Christmas for me!

I love the colors blue, brown and silver together so as soon as I picked out a sketch to use I knew what DP was perfect for it and then I had my colors. Usually I just sit and color the image whatever colors I want to use then worry about it matching anything else. Right now I have quite a few colored and am not very inspired to dig through my stash to find matching DP and embellishments. I guess I 'll have to pick first and color last for a bit.

I was able to match this card to some challenges though. I am finding it lots of fun to push myself to do the challenges. There are lots of very talented people that do them so I strive to be as creative as possible. Here are the challenges that go with this card

Crafty Calendar Challenge #4- January's challenge is keeping warm. She is all bundled up in her winter best and is drinking hot cocoa. I also think this color combo has a very warm feeling to it!
Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #12- What's New is the challenge. I used a brand new stamp on this card and the part of the glittered snowflakes were made with my new Spellbinders Snowflakes die set. I love using new things when I play!
Quixotic Challenge #8-Hot Chocolate is the challenge. I interpreted it as using the color brown and Piper is holding a cup of cocoa so it worked perfectly for this challenge.
Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge #12- Heavy Metal is the challenge so I dug out my favorite shiny snowflake to use and then used shiny silver brads to match it! I love shiny anything on a card!
ABC Challenge-L is for Layering, I don't think I ever do a card without a layer on it. The more layers the better, KWIM.
365 Cards- This challenge is Metal Mania so the snowflake and the brads work perfectly for it. This is the first time I have played along with this challenge and they have some really fun ones so I can see that I will be playing with them again very soon!
Paperplay Challenge week 1- Precious Metals, I do love to use metal embellishments on a lot of my cards and this snowflake is my favorite. I don't know what I'll do when I run out of them!
Cute Card Thursday Challenge 94- This challenge is All New! My new is my Kraftin' Kimmie stamp and my Spellbinders snowflake dies. I love to ink up new Rubber!
Polka Doodles Challenge week 1-Song title, this card immediately made me think of the song, Baby It's Cold Outside. This was a fun challenge this week I have songs running through my head for some of my other cards!
Allsorts Challenge 34- The challenge this week is a great sketch. It was easy so it gave a lot of room for your own personal touch to it! I love using sketches.

This card seemed to fit a lot of the wonderful challenges that were out in blogland this week. If you get a chance why not play along or at least check out all the fantastic creations that other ladies are making. Challenges help to keep you push yourself to try new things in a fun way.

Supplies
Stamps: Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, CTMH (saying)
Paper: SU Close to Cocoa, Bordering Blue CS, Papertrey White CS and Bo Bunny DP
Ink: Copics, Memento Black and Cocoa

Warm Hands, Warm Heart

It is back to school tomorrow, vacation is over for me. This time seems to go so fast because of the holidays I suppose. I started this card on Friday for the Sugar Nellie challenge, Sugar Bowl Challenge 26 Lilians Sketch. The added part is to include "something new" along with the sketch.
The new on my card is this cute Sugar Nellie stamp (first time it has been inked) and the DP which I just bought a short time ago and just opened it now to use it.

This should have been an easy card for me but the colors in the DP are definitely not colors I use at all. Coloring with my Copics colors that I might not even have used yet was hard to figure what would work together, none of these colors that I own had colors close to each other to use for shading and blending. It took me days of walking away and coming back before everything matched and looked good. Next card I am going back to my comfort colors!

I do have to say that these new 6x6 packs called petite papers from Webster's Papers are beautiful. I used the holiday paper pack this time but I also have another of the floral packs also. Their papers are very shabby chic with a touch of old world I guess I would call it. Our LSS started carrying the line and these packs fly out of the store.

Supplies
Stamps:Sugar Nellie, Impression Obsession (saying)
Papers: CTMH Textured CS, Papertrey White CS, DP Webster's Pages
Inks: Copics, Memento Black
Accessories:Nesties, Making Memories Distressing Tool, Paper Shaper Whale Tail Punch and Snowflake, MS Snowflake Punch, Stickles Chunky Glitter, Recollections Sticker Pearls, LSS Ribbon, Gold Charm Unknown

Thank you so much for stopping by today to see what I created. I really do appreciate everyone who stops by my blog and especially those who leave a comment about my cards. It means so much to me.

Have a wonderful start to the week,
Mary

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! It is hard to believe that it is 2010. I hope it brings everyone lots of better times than the previous year. Of course it is starting off with a snowstorm here in the North East. When we went to bed it was starting to spit snow and now it is snowing like mad and is expected to do it off and on all day, tonight and tomorrow. I guess that it means that I am staying in and making cards, hehe. Good time to pull out all my Christmas crafting gifts and try them out.

This cutie is a digi stamp from The Greeting Farm and they were nice enough to give it to us for free (thanks Kristen for letting us know about it). It made a great New Years Day Card that I am giving to a friend that I didn't see over the holidays.

This card also fits quite a few challenges going on right now, so here they are

Crazy For Challenges, C4C18- Create a card using Polka Dots, I love polka dots so the hardest part was what color polka dot DP to use!

Carisma Cardz Challenge Celebrations-It is their 1ST birthday and they are celebrating with lots of fun including a great challenge to make a card of a celebration, I did a New Years Celebration, a blog hop and great presents to win! Check them out!!!!!
Frosted Designs A New Years Challenge-I love New Years Day so making a card to celebrate a great new year ahead was lots of fun.

Daring Cardmakers-The challenge this week is new beginnings, so my card was a perfect fit for the challenge!
A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge 82-They have a wonderful sketch this challenge and I loved using for this card. It gave me the opportunity for lots of different kinds of papers on the card!
Stamp with Fun Challenge #39-A New Years Challenge. Everyone is looking to get creative for the new year so there are lots of creative eye candy to check out here!
Cupcake Craft Challenge #71-A time for celebration, they have lots of great challenges every week and this one is no exception, there is lots of room to be creative.

Best Friends Share Everything

The holidays are always such a busy time. I hate when there is so much to do that I can't seem to find time to sit down and create even a card. My weekend was so busy(lots of fun though) that I made some time to do this card just to put some calm and quiet back into my life.
This digi is a freebie that I got from Mo's Digital Pencil. I love all her images and when I saw the MDP challenge this week, #10, was a non-holiday thank you card I knew this would be perfect!

I also made this card to fit for these challenges
Daring Cardmakers- Going Dotty, polka dots on the card and nothing wintery!
Truly Scrumptious Challenge 22- This week it is a wonderful sketch that worked perfectly with this image.
It was nice to make a card that didn't have to do with snow or the holidays right now. I do have a few more cards that I need to post before the holidays are here but I hope you enjoyed seeing one that was made just because it was fun card!

Supplies
Stamps: Mo's Digital Pencil, Rubber Stamp Tapestry, Wordsworth Stamps
Paper: SU Night of Navy and Old Olive CS, Papertrey White, DP Bo Bunny and CTMH
Inks: Copics, SU Night of Navy, Old Olive
Accessories: Nesties, MS Leaf Punch, Misc. brads and Craft Button, and Michaels Ribbon

Thanks for taking the time to stop by to see my creation during these busy times. I really do appreciate all the wonderful comments that you leave for me.

Have a wonderful day,

Ready For Snow!

It is just starting to snow lightly here. They are saying this area of Massachusetts is going to get 5-6" overnight. We always seem to get the most out of the whole state I guess because we are in the northern part of the state about 10 minutes from the NH border. I hate the stuff unless it is on a card!

I did this card for the Sugar Bowl challenge, challenge 25, Lilian's sketch. You were to use the sketch and also your favorite color. My favorite color is blue and it goes perfectly with these shades of pink and cranberry so this card was a lot of fun to do. I also love this Sugar Nellie winter stamp because she is so fun to color! I put lots of sparkle on it but of course it didn't show up well in the picture. There is no sentiment yet because I'm not sure if it will be a Christmas card yet.

Supplies
Stamps: Sugar Nellie
Paper: SU Bravo Burgundy CS, Old Olive CS, Bashful Blue CS Papertrey White CS, and DP Basic Grey
Inks: Copics
Accessories: Coluzzle Cutter, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, SU Glitter, Recollections Sticker Pearls, Joanns Ribbon and Pearl String Beads, SU Slot Punch, and Bow Easy

Thanks for stopping by to see what I created for the Sugar Bowl challenge. I really appreciate all the wonderful comments that you leave for me.

Enjoy the weekend,
Mary

Lotsa Love

I made this card for four challenges that I thought would be perfect for this cute image. I love these Kraftin' Kimmie's Stamps girls. So I have been trying to do Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenges each week to see what everyone else is doing with them also. The Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp Challenge this week is Challenge #6, Lotsa Circles. I thought with all the circles on the bottom of her dress and the round button eyes on her dolls that it would be my inspiration for the challenge.

The second challenge that I decided to use this card for was the Copic Colour Challenge #39 to use the colors G05 emerald Green, R29 Lipstick Red, and Y08 Acid Yellow. Luckily I had all 3 of these colors and decided to go playful with them. This is definitely not my typical type of card though I do like the way it came out. I didn't put a saying to it yet though because I am not sure what it will used for maybe a birthday card.

The third challenge that this card was made for was Allsorts Challenge Week 27, a card or something for a child. I think this image is perfect for any little girl who has a favorite doll that goes everywhere. My own daughter when she was young had one just like these and loved it to the point of ruin.

The fourth challenge is for Paperplay Challenges 09 Week 41 a recipe. The recipe is to use 2 designer papers, 3 buttons and 1 ribbon. I love all three items in the recipe so it was a great challenge for me. This is the first time I have tried one of their challenges.

Supplies
Stamps: Kraftin Kimmie's Stamps
Paper: SU YoYo Yellow, Garden Green, Papertrey White, and DP Basic Grey
Inks: Copics
Accessories: Nesties, MS Punch, SU Photo Corner Punch, Cuttlebug Embossing Folders, CTMH Spiral Clip, Michaels Ribbon, and Walmart Craft Buttons

I hope you have liked this card I created. It was lots of fun to try something totally different than what I normally do. I would really appreciate knowing what you think.

Happy Creating,
Mary

Picking Time! 3CTC39, Stamp Something Sketch Challenge

It finally stopped raining here in New England. I don't normally mind a rainy day but I have been home sick with something that knocked me right off my feet, yesterday was the first day I got up and got dressed and tried to face the world still not feeling 100% but wanting some fresh air without the downpours.

This stamp is one of Crissy Armstrong's on Squigglefly. Isn't this one of the cutest turkeys you've ever seen and I love that it's a digi. This card was made for a sketch this week from Stamp Something Challenge Blog. It is a really fun sketch that worked perfectly with this image I think. I also made it for Kerry's fun Thursday challenge, 3CTC39, use a bird or bug on your creation.I printed out the turkey twice and cut out the front part of the turkey and popped up the turkey from the shirt up to give him some depth. His feet and bottom I just glue dotted down so he looked like he was still attached to his feathered backside.

I am one who has a comfort zone and don't realize how much I'm in it until I get knocked out of it. I must always cover my whole card with DP. There are so many out there that are perfect that I always reach for them. Well I didn't have any that went with this plaid. It was a scrap I had that I loved. I don't even know who makes it. I decided to just stamp on the red CS with fall leaves in red. It shows up IRL but not in the pick. I am not really crazy about it since it is not the norm for me. It is times like this that I will pull the card apart many times(often ruining some part of it in the process) trying to change it. This time I finished it and am posting before I give myself the chance to go at it again. Thanks for letting me vent so I can move on!

Supplies
Stamps: Squiggfly Digi Stamps, Amuse Stamps, SU Fall Leaves
Paper: SU CS Ballet Blue, Real Red, Papertrey White, DP Unknown
Inks: Copics, SU bashful Blue, Real Red
Accessories: Nesties, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, CTMH Clip, EK Success Leaf Punch, Dew Drops, Michaels Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by today. If you get a minute I would love to know what you think of my card I created. I really appreciate all the wonderful comments that I get.

Have a Great Day and Happy Creating,
Mary

Where is Prince Charming?

I love this stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie's stamps. She shows so much attitude. When I saw what the sketch was for Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch, TSSC95, I knew this stamp would be perfect!

It also fit the challenge for Kraftin' Kimmie's Stamps Challenge #5, and Quixotic Challenge #2 to feature stitching on the card. This was not an easy thing for me. I tried to zigzag around the back round DP. After three tries I said I'm done so it's not perfect. I decided to straight stitch around the top which came out a bit better. I will never be a seamstress.

I also am trying a new challenge, A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge #77, To create a scene. I added the misletoe from one of my High Hopes stamps and I stamped the frog multiple times to give the idea of them waiting in line for their kiss.

Supplies
Stamps: Kraftin' Kimmie's Stamps, High Hopes. Rubber Stamp Tapestry
Paper: SU CS Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke. Papertrey White, and DP Basic Grey
Inks: Copics, Memento Black, and Asst. SU Colors
Accessories: Nesties, SU Punch, Stickles, EK Success Leaf Punch, LSS Ribbon, Flowers Unknown

I am very happy to have you stop by today to see what I created. Thank you for all your wonderful comments, they are what keep me creating.

Have a wonderful day,

A Happy Snowman, Colour Create Challenge 31

Anyone that knows me knows that there are three things that I absolutely love the color blue (I think the whole world should be in shades of blue) and snowmen of all shapes and kinds and glitter, I love to make things sparkle! These three things surround me all year long and make me very happy! When my sister Peggy, Colorful Designs, told me about a challenge that was made for me over on Colour Create Challenge Blog, Challenge 31 I laughed because she was right. The challenge this week is to create a card that's blue, silver and white and has a winter theme that includes glitter, how perfect. This is the card I created for it.

This snowman is new this year and I just love him. I colored around him with Copics and then glittered around him to make him stand out a bit from the back round that I colored with my Copics also. I tried to show a close-up of how the card sparkles all over. The back round isn't quite as solid as it looks in the picture I took my blender to it to give a winter sky look sort of. The snowflake paper on the back round glitter CS I made using my Rubber Stamp Tapestry peg stamps. I couldn't find DP that looked good so I thought why not just make my own! I stickled the flakes after I stamped it. I was lucky enough to find a piece of the silver mirror paper from a project years ago. The only bad thing was if you look a my photo you can see it does act like a mirror and my sweater reflected in the bottom at the icicles when I took the picture. I really had a lot of fun creating this card and I hope it inspires you to pull out a snowman, bring it to life and put a smile on some one's face!
Supplies
Stamps: Great Impressions, Rubber Stamp Tapestry, Savvy Stamps
Paper: CTMH White Textured CS, Glitter Cs and Silver Mirror CS, Papertrey White, and DP Art Impressions
Ink: Copics, SU Ink Ass't blues, Memento Black
Accessories: Nesties, MS Icicle Punch, MS Snowflake Punch, EK Success Snowflake Punches, Hero Arts Jewels, Recollections Sticker Pearls, A-muse Sticker Pearls, Stickles, SU Glitter, Flower Soft, Michaels Ribbon and Snowflake charm(unknown)

Thank you for stopping by today to see what I created. If you would like to leave a comment I would really appreciate it. I can't thank everyone enough for all their kind words about my cards.
Happy Creating,
Mary

Candy Please! 3CTC36, Stamp Something Blog Halloween Challenge, Makeup 4 the Weekend Challenge

Halloween is just around the corner and I haven't made very many Halloween cards. I am not sure why time just seems to get away from me. KWIM? This card was made for three challenges. The first one is Kerry's Thursday Challenge, 3CTC36, a great sketch challenge this week and a special thank you to Kerry! The second challenge I just found this weekend, Stamp Something Challenge Blog, This week the theme is Halloween. I guess it was fate that I found it, so I knew I would have to join in on the fun! The third challenge is a new one to me also, The Paper Makeup Blog Makeup 4 the Weekend Color Challenge. The colors to use for this challenge is black, orange, white and purple perfect Halloween colors. They also have some really cute stamps at their store.

I just love this little mouse. It is a digi stamp from the Greeting Farm and made by the same artist that designs the Motivet stamps. I love those stamps also. I colored the image with Copics and IRL the whole image is a lot brighter in color like the purple is darker and the pinks "POP" more. It is cloudy here today and I take my pictures in my usually sunny front bay window. I will try again when we see the sun or when it drives me crazy enough to pull out my OTT light.
She is still cute even though a bit paler in color and am will be collecting a lot of "treats".

Supplies
Stamps: SU and The Greeting Farm
Paper: SU Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Papertrey White and DP Basic Grey
Inks: Copics, Memento Black, SU Lovely Lilac
Accessories: MS Punch, SU Scallop Punch, Paper Shaper Punch, Recollections Halloween Pearl Stickers, Art Institute Glitter, Misc. Brads

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you like what I created. If you have the time and like challenges these two are worth trying. I love seeing what other talented people have created!

Have a wonderful day,

Think Snow? TSSC92

I am so not ready to have snow on the ground here but felt like making a winter card with snow on it! I made this card for Mary
Jo's Monday lunchtime Challenge, TSSC92 but once again am getting it posted right under the deadline.

I found this snow DP from last year and I love all the blues and purples in it. That is what started the idea of this card. I have had this little snowman for years, it was on of the first stamp sets that I ever bought. The think snow saying was bought just last week. I like that it was nice and small.

The snowflakes are punched on shimmery paper and stamped snowflakes from my Rubber Stamp Tapestry set around the bottom.

Supplies
Stamps: Stampendous, Rubber Stamp Tapestry, Amuse
Paper: SU Bliss Blue, Papertrey White, Paper Co. Shimmer White, DP unknown
Inks: Copics, Memento Black, SU Bliss Blue, Lavender Lace, Ballet Blue
Accessories: Paper Shaper Punch, Nesties, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Stickles, Kaiser Pearls, Misc. Jewels, Michaels Ribbon
