Colin Meloy Sings Live! (2008)

Colin Meloy é compositor, cantor, guitarrista e líder da banda The Decemberists, e entre uma pausa e outra de seu grupo, ele faz pequenos shows solos acompanhado somente por seu violão. Ele também criou o ótimo hábito de gravar EPs homenageando seu ídolos, assim, já lançou "Colin Meloy Sings Morrissey", "Colin Meloy Sings Shirley Collins" e "Colin Meloy Sings Sam Cooke", todos com tiragem limitada, quase artesanais, e vendidos em seus shows solos e de sua banda.

Agora, ele lança seu primeiro álbum, "Colin Meloy Sings Live!" foi lançado em abril passado pela Kill Rock Stars. O disco traz, em sua maioria, canções de sua banda, algumas das mais conhecidas, outras completamentes obscuras, mas nuas de instrumentos, com exceção de seu violão, com arranjos mais simples, comentários bem humorados entre os números, despojamento e muita simplicidade, além de fazer referência, passar de raspão, nos EPs lançados anteriormente.

"Colin Meloy Sings Live!" é um belo álbum, tanto pra os já iniciados em sua banda, quanto para quem já ouviu falar ou leu a respeito mas, ainda não havia escutado. Tome num gole só, o resutado é satisfatório. (Nota: 8)
