After spending much of the summer and fall of 2009 alternately touring the US with Death Cab for Cutie, headlining their own packed shows, and retreating to a country property in upstate New York to write and record, Ra Ra Riot have announced this summer's upcoming arrival of their new album the orchard. It's an incredibly self-assured step for the band, delivering both hook-laden pop jams like boy and the new-but-familiar-to-live-audiences too dramatic and ruminative slow-burns like the Anton Chekov/Kate Bush-inspired the orchard and album-closer keep it quiet.

Formada em janeiro de 2006, em Syracuse, NY, Ra Ra Riot ganhou rapidamente devotados seguidores. Eles excursionaram extensivamente os Estados Unidos e Europa com artistas como Tokyo Police Club e Editors. NME considerou-os como uma das bandas Top 5 de 2006 e 2007. Formed in January 2006 in Syracuse, NY, Ra Ra Riot has quickly gained a devoted following. They have toured extensively in the US and abroad with artists such as Tokyo Police Club and Editors. NME honored them as one of the Top 5 and Top 10 bands at CMJ 2006 and SXSW 2007 respectively. Ra Ra Riot spent late 2007 in the studio with producer Ryan Hadlock (The Gossip, Blonde Redhead, Islands) recording their debut full-length, the rhumb line, which skillfully melds elements of new wave and classic indie with sweeping orchestral chamber pop to startling effect. Epic and eloquent, dramatic and graceful, Ra Ra Riot's debut is an inventive and ambitious record that consistently conveys the passions of its creators.
