Beck está lançando uma nova canção, intitulada "Harry Partch", uma homenagem ao compositor californiano Harry Partch (
não ao veterano britânico Harry Patch da Primeira Guerra Mundial que morreu em junho último aos 111 anos, homenageado em canção pelo Radiohead), que utilizava uma escala com 43 tons e que Partch deu o nome de 'Corporeality'. "Harry Partch", a canção de Beck, utiliza a escala Partch, que expande a tonalidade convencional em uma ampla variação de frequências e ressonâncias.

Harry Partch foi um compositor da chamada música Microtonal. Ele desenvolveu seu próprio sistema de tonalidade usando freqüências e notas encontradas entre as tradições ocidental. Ele achou que poderia provocar emoções e reações do ouvinte tonalidade convencional não conseguia. Ele construiu seus próprios instrumentos de propriedade de jogar o seu trabalho.
