LABAREDA is back with a new tape and release, the seventh. 

The label keeps on pushing and celebrating first works and albums of the most atypical and alien portuguese artists this time with the deep minimalist compositional, (and first) album from Sofia Mestre aka Clothilde. Twitcher was made and shaped using Clothilde’s partner, Hobo, homemade machinery and modulars with each track recorded in one take and filling us up with textures, melodies and sections of zero visible ending points echoing Annea Lockwood, Jessica Rylan, Oliveros, Maryanne Amacher and Radigue in a mesh of primal experimentation and awe.

Beautify Junkyards 12'' Vinyl LP ::: "60s and 70s psych folk, tropicalia and kosmische covers lovingly re-crafted for the XXI century"

After a very successful vinyl single released on the UK label Fruits de Mer, Beautify Junkyards is now releasing their debut album which was recorded in the fields with a mobile studio.

Shindig magazine, Classic Rock, BBC6, BBC2 and many other sites and radios across Europe and US are featuring wonderful reviews and playing songs from the album, also the producer Béco Dranoff (Ziriguiboom label, Red Hot compilations) invited the band to participate on a documentary for brazilian TV entitled "Beyond Ipanema" alongside with musicians like David Byrne, Devendra Banhart, M.I.A, Os Mutantes and many others. These are all good reasons to release this full lenght with all the excitement.

This album is entirely dedicated to some of the band´s major musical influences "60s and 70s psych folk, tropicalia and kosmische covers lovingly re-crafted for the XXI century" 


For this debut the band also brought in very special guests: Wolfgang Shloegl (i-Wolf, Sofa Surfers), Riz Maslen (Neotropic), Karine Carvalho (3 na Massa) and the american folk singer Erica Buettner.

Compositora canadiana, utilizando para a criação da sua música sobretudo o laptop, para além de investigadora, Norah Lorway surpreende neste que julgo ser o seu segundo trabalho. Depois de um CD, já esgotado, temos este trabalho apenas no formato digital. Música ambiente para quem não se quer deixar adormecer.
Ambos os trabalhos foram editados na editora Earthrid e o seu site pessoal é aqui .

Acrescento que, segundo o autor, Frans de Waard, que contactei via Facebook, informou que saíram 40 números. Eu só encontro aqui por casa 28 (este é o último, para além dum especial USA, que postarei a seguir mas que não conta, aqui, para o totobola). Ou não comprei os restantes 12 ou andam aí por casa...

Comprei ontem toda a música disponível deste músico, no bandcamp, constituída por 7 trabalhos. Apenas um deles estava, e está, disponível em formato físico - CD -, todos os outros apenas em formato digital. Como não sou muito de comprar música em formato digital, já podem deduzir o fascínio que a sua música me causou. Melhor que tecer algumas palavras sobre a sua maravilhosa música, é ouvi-la aqui.

Está tudo em streaming pelo que não têm de gastar nada para ouvir, apenas para fazer download e, mesmo isso, em 5 dos trabalhos vigora o regime "name your price" o que quer dizer que os podem descarregar de borla. Vale a pena...

Motion Sickness of Time Travel é uma prolífica música (Rachel Evans, de sua graça) da Georgia, USA. Lança trabalhos de forma quase ininterrupta, em vários formatos e editoras, a esmagadora maioria, senão a totalidade, em edições muito limitadas, que logo esgotam, algumas delas em poucas horas ou mesmo minutos. Basta ela publicá-las e dar a notícia no seu fabecook, que é uma correria. Eu já consegui apanhar 3, porque estava online, no facebook, nesse momento.
Vejam a sua página no bandcamp e confirme, no separador Merch, que está tudo esgotado.
Para além deste facto, de puro marketing, acontece que a música, ao contrário de outros autores que praticam a mesma política atrás enunciada, é, quase sempre, de qualidade irrepreensível.
