I thought I'd play around with this image for a card for my little book worm daughter, Alexandria.   I know she'll love this sweet little fairy.  Who wouldn't?  I downloaded her a couple of days ago and just had to colour her in tonight while I'm not shaky.   Not the best job colouring, but I had fun!  :)

Here's a peek at the inside of the card...I haven't decided what to stamp on the inside yet!  lol  :)

Happy Hollydays

This is the 2nd card that I've made two of to go in each of my card portfolio sets to be auctioned off at our Gala for work. I actually used the wrong stamp for the sentiment and used the happy 'holly' days one instead of the normal holidays one. This kind of put the kibosh to my card a bit as I hadn't planned on putting the berries on it but it didn't really make sense unless I did...Oh, such card dilemmas! lol :)

Well, we had a busy weekend with my daughter's both celebrating their birthdays this weekend. Our oldest daughter turns 8 years old on Tuesday and our youngest daughter turns
6 next month, but Jim will be away so we opted to have a joint birthday so he could be here to celebrate with them both.

Time to call it a day...I'll be back tomorrow with more to show you.

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

Lavender Birthday Butterfly

One of the ladies that I work with asked me if I would make her a lavender birthday card for her friend. This is card attempt #1, that I made tonight, but I'm not sure that I'm completely happy with it. I don't know what it is about making cards for other people, but I always seem to get stumped for ideas when they specifically request one. It's like I all of a sudden lose my mojo. Anyway, I think I'll try another attempt tomorrow night and see which one she likes better. I think I'll try some patterned paper with the other one. This one just seems too plain for me...I dunno, I know you're always you're own worst critic.

By the way, I used my new Making Memories paper trimmer for this card. This is the first full card that I've made with it and I have to say that so far, I love it! It gives such nice, clean, straight cuts and no blade-wobbling at the beginning of the cut. I'm super happy with it! Finally, I have a good cutter! I feel like a kid in a candy store I'm so excited! Ya gotta love new crafty toys! lol :)

Well, I think I'll turn in a bit early tonight. I'll be back again tomorrow. Stay tuned...

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

Be Mine, Valentine

Isn't this butterfly stamp gorgeous? You know me, I had to have it! :) Just some quick stampin' therapy time tonight amongst the GI infection madness that has taken over my house. I was just about to send the kids back to school tomorrow after being off school for 8 school days now from being sick. I'm just starting to feel better tonight, just exhausted, but now my youngest daughter has developed this nasty bug. You're kidding me, right? It's been such a long 2 weeks...I just need this bug to go away. Hoping that my daughter only has a mild case of it, but the way my other daughter and I were both affected, I'm not holding my breath. :(

Off to bed to get some rest and await the fun tonight...

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

Over the Rainbow Challenge

The colours in this card were inspired by a colour challenge over on Capture the Moment. Nichole's company, PaperTrey Ink has the most beautiful colours of cardstock, however, I don't own any. I guess I've always looked at them in awe, but thought, oh, it would probably cost an arm and a leg for shipping, so I tend to buy my cardstock locally. I'd love to get my crafty fingers on some of their colours, though! lol :) The winner of this colour challenge will win a year supply (510 sheets in total) of PTI cardstock! Can you imagine the excitement! OMG, I'd be ecstatic! I can dream, can't I? lol :)

Dang scanner again. Can anyone tell me why it's making my top layer of cardstock a different, brighter shade of yellow than the other layers? Is there something that I'm doing wrong with the scanning? Please, shed some light to a scanner virgin! lol :)

Ok, crafty time is up for tonight. Gotta get some rest. :)

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

Mojo72 Sketch Challenge

I created this card for the Mojo Monday Week 72 Sketch Challenge. Can you believe that I don't think I've ever done one of these Mojo Monday challenges before! Crazy, I know, but I saw this sketch today and I decided I'd give it a go. I love Julee's sketches, I guess I just always try to do my own...but, with my brain foggy these days with sickness, I figured I could use a little help! lol :)

I made this card for my Mum for Valentine's Day. Does it look like a Valentine's Day card? I don't know, I didn't want a typical looking themed card with hearts and cupids, but I'm happy with how it turned out. I know the top yellow layer looks different from the other yellow layers, but it really is the same colour. Again, it's my scanner, and me now knowing how to use it properly apparently to adjust colours and layers to look true.

OK, stampin' therapy time for tonight is over. I had a nap tonight after I got the kids to sleep, but then I woke and felt the need to make a card... lol :) Now, its time to call it a day.

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)
