The Many Faces of Babies Board Book

I have a fun project...but a long post...to share with you tonight. I made this little board book for one of my colleagues, she's a sweetheart and is expecting her first baby. I'm so happy for her and I thought I'd make this funny little book to showcase some of the funny faces babies make. :)

As you can see from all the pictures below, I used the entire Ooh Baby Stamp Sheet by The Stampsmith to create this cute little book.  I don't think I've ever created anything using every stamp in set, but this was a super fun project to make.  I used cereal boxes for the pages and die cut pattered paper to cover the cereal box board.   I adhered the patterned paper with a glue stick and distressed the page edges, the photostamp images and the sentiments using tea dye ink. I looked at all the images and came up with the sentiments myself.  The sentiments I chose are my interpretations of the baby expression alongside.  To finish it off, I went for a visit to my friend, Janice's and she graciously let me borrow her Bind-it-all.   Ya gotta love that little machine!  Thanks, so much, Janice!

Holy cow that was a long post!   Lots of images to upload!  I hope you enjoyed the many faces of babies...after all laughter is the best medicine!

Darling Boys

I have a 'welcome, baby boy' card to share with you tonight, featuring a photostamp from the Darling Boys plate from The Stampsmith.

I'm sorry I had to crop down this image to fit inside the photo frame, but it is a sweet image if you can see the whole image. Look at that precious face and I love the old tub that he's in, washing his little teddy bear! Too cute! :)
I had a great time out with my local group of stampin' friends on Saturday night. I have a couple of projects to share with you, plus the swap card that I got from our draw. I'll share those with you really soon...stay tuned.

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

Welcome, Baby Hunter!

A new little bundle of joy came into the world yesterday, a sweet baby boy, born to friends of ours who are going to make wonderful parents. This is the card that I made for them. I'll get it to them soon, we all just need to get rid of our coughs first! I hate having to wait to get to hold a sweet little newborn! :(

I used a darling photostamp from the Darling Boys plate by The Stampsmith. This is such a sweet plate, and it comes with some cute little sayings, as well. The sentiment I used is also from this plate. In case you can't read it very well on the card, it reads,

What are little boys, made of?
Frogs and snails and puppy dog tails,
That's what little boys, are made of!

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

Baby Boy Tag Book

I attended a class last Friday at one of our local stamp stores and we made this sweet little Tag Book. I was actually filling in for my my friend, Kim, who couldn't make it to the class. She had signed up to make a little boy kit to hold some pics of her new little grandson. So, since she couldn't make it, I attended the class to make the project just for fun and I'm giving my tag book to her. Being an addicted blogger, I told her I just needed to take a picture of it first, then she could have it! lol :)

Here's a few different shots with the tags in and taken out.

Pink Elephant for a Baby Girl

Well, I finally finished this card! I've been working on if on and off for several days now...just lots going on with the Natal Day long weekend here this past weekend and I haven't had much time to work on it each time.  Plus, I'm back to work after my vacation, so not much free time.  Anyway, I finally finished it tonight and the card below is the one that inspired me to make it.

I saw the card above, made by Hallmark, and absolutely fell in love with it.  How cute is this?!  So, I CASE'd it!  Don't worry, though, I'm not selling it, I just made it for fun or to give to my next friend who has a baby girl.  :)  You can see in the Hallmark card that they used fabric and felt and actually sewed around the edges of each piece.  But, I opted to use some sweet patterned paper that I love to use on baby girl cards and I cheated and doodled on the stitches with a few different colours of gel pens.

Sorry I haven't been around in a while, but we've had some beautiful weather here lately, so I've been out a lot with the family and haven't taken much time to spend crafting.  But, I do have a couple of cards to make for friends, so I'll be making those in the next few days and I'll post them soon.  So, stay tuned.

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

Sweet Pea Twins

I don't know about anyone else, but I've been having major problems with Blogger for the past few days. I'm assuming it because of the work that they're doing on the site with the design changes, but it's really frustrating! I can't get in to edit my posts and when I try to log in it just keeps going to a blank screen and tries to load, but is unsuccessful. Hopefully it'll be back to normal by tomorrow.

I've made this card before, a CASE from Sunny Stampin'. I love this design that they came up with to use the Baroque flourish as the vines and the little sweet pea babies. Her original was just one sweet pea, but this card was requested by a friend and co-worker of mine for her friend that just had twins. Hope she likes it. :)

It's my Birthday today!

I made this card last night, but I'm having some issues with Blogger and haven't been able to get last night or tonight until now. They must be working on the system...I dunno.   Anyway, I made a card like this a while back for a new baby girl, but a friend of mine asked me to make one for her for a new baby boy, so I had to make one in blue this time. I adore these cute little pot belied animals. Someone said today that they look like the "Little People" farm animals, I think they're right. They make for a cute card - sorry it's not a very good picture!  I was in a hurry and didn't check it on the computer before I gave it to her.  It's not this washed out in real life!  lol   :)

I had a great day today for my birthday.  I had to go to work, but some of the girls took me out to lunch and we had a great time.   Then, I came home to supper all ready as my parents came into the city and brought lasagna and salad with them!  Gotta love coming home from a long day at work to supper all ready for ya!  Then, not one but two kinds of cake  - Yummy!   Anyway, I've had a long few days, so I think I'll be a nerd and actually go to bed early tonight as it's gong to be a very busy weekend, too.

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes!  Hugs to you all!

Baby's First Steps

My friend's little guy, Nicholas, just started taking his first steps, so I had to make a card for her in celebration! I've been itching to use this digi stamp of a walking baby, so this was the perfect occasion!  I was going to leave the entire image as a sketch, but I opted to colour in just his outfit as a highlight colour.

For the 'Baby's First Step' sentiment, I simply typed it out using Scriptina font - 36 pt. Then, I printed it off using my new Brother printer.  Yippee, I finally got another printer.  :)

Here's a close up of the image.

It seems so quiet here tonight, my youngest daughter is at a sleepover tonight with her Sparks (Girl Guides) group.   So, it's just Jim and I here with our oldest daughter.   It's funny how differently a child acts when they're not with their sibling.   We had a relaxing night, watched a couple of IMAX movies that we picked up at COSTCO and now she's asleep on the couch.   Well, I better call it a day, we have to get up early to go get Natalia and I'm sure the alarm will be blaring way before the time that I want I to get up!  lol  :)

Cartoon Animal Babies

I used these super cute baby animals digi's tonight to make a welcome baby girl card since I didn't have any left in my stock and it's always good to have at least one on hand.  I found these little "pot-bellied' cartoon animals the other day on clker.com designed by OCAL.  Super talented artist, by the way.  She should check these images out!  I printed the images off in black and white and then coloured them in with my Touch markers.  It was a super easy card, but I think it's pretty darn cute, too!  I just love making baby cards!  :)

Welcome, Baby Girl!

My friend, Diana, just had a new little baby girl, so this card is for her.  I finally got to see her today for a few minutes and she's absolutely beautiful!   So tiny and those little hands, oh, my goodness.   It almost makes me want to have another one!   Oh, ya gotta love visiting a new little baby, though....especially when you can cuddle them and then give them back to the parents and go home and have a good night of sleep yourself!  lol  :)

I love making girls baby cards and I was inspired by this card by Kerri Michaud and knew I wanted to make a card with the same basic sketch. Thanks for the inspiration, Kerri!  :)

Ok, that's all for now.   I'll be back soon with something else to show you.

Asian Fusion Origami Challenge

I made this card for a challenge over at Capture the Moment for Nicole's Asian Fusion Origami Challenge.  I can't tell you how frustrated I got.  I had a project in mind to use an origami lotus flower as a topper to a cute little origami box to hold chocolates.   But, alas I had to resort to the kids origami projects as I just couldn't get my lotus flower to turn out right after several attempts and several different styles of paper.  :(

Anyway, I think this little "Welcome Little One' card turned out kinda cute.  I love making baby cards and it just so happens that I know a few people that have just had babies or are due really soon, so I'm sure this card will find a home soon!  :)

I used this pattern for my little origami stars over at Origami Fun.  I think I'll try playing with some of these patterns down the road....I'm determined that I'm gonna get that lotus flower folded out without ripping the paper!

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)
