Fall Leaves

I started out trying to put together a tutorial for pumpkin leaf bags but nothing seemed to work.

(I may try again if any one is interested)

Except for the leaves,  I think that they came out pretty good.

So I thought that I would tell you a bit about how I did them.

I used a couple of leaf punches and a pair of decorative scissors.

Casey's Mini blog  has a great posting that shows how to make leaves with decorative scissors.

When I was digging out sale flyers to stuff the pumpkins I noticed that some had large patches of reds and yellows.  So I started punching leaves.  Then I looked some more and found pictures of fruit that worked well.

I like the one punched from the lettuce leaf the best.

The paper is a good, light weight and it's free.

Next I noticed that some of the leaves were coming out colored on both sides, great - but some were coming out white on the back.  I already had markers out, so I colored the white areas.  Now all my leaves have 2 good sides.

Otterine    has a posting that shows how she makes leaves using water color paint, I may try that next time.  I've been looking for the punch that she used for a long time it's always sold out.

I hope that you are enjoying some great fall weather.  It's getting cool and crisp here and the leaves are beautiful.

I'm sorry that I have not been a very good blogger lately, time flies by fast when you're busy.

I do some have some very exciting mini news that I will be sharing in the next few days, I hope that you will come back to see.

Thank you for visiting, Mary
