God’s Message for Me

I’m starting to hate him. Simple little things that made me upset are now like gargantuan building blocks in my heart. I know I have to understand and gave him time to fix things. I now feel numb and aloof. But the problem is he has no idea about this.

Maybe God has seen this hatred in me because when I open SFC’s website to read the scripture God told me to forgive…

“Bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.” (Colossians 3:13)

Truly God speaks to me; so as to you. Just listen…

365 Days Journey of Gratefulness

I woke up a little bit late last Saturday morning. I was awakened with the unstoppable message alert tone in my mobile phone. I almost forgot that it was my birthday. After spending my nth (still denial… LOL) in this planet it was my first time to realize I was so lucky despite all odds. I admit. I cried a bucketful of tears that morning… It’s unexplainable yet it relieves me from anger, anxieties, and all the negative things that stored in me. I actually called it ‘tears of joy.’ I may sound corny, but that’s actually what I felt. It’s an involuntary emotion (I don’t know if there’s such a thing called involuntary emotion…LOL).

That morning, first thing that came to my mind is to have a 365 days journey of gratefulness by writing it in a notebook. A sort of Thank You note to God. I learned it from a TV host, Boy Abunda, quoting “You’ll look life differently when you thank God more often than complaining”. Unfortunately I was not able to do it because I haven’t purchase the notebook yet and I was busy preparing for my exam that day. (Procrastinating again! sigh).

Since I spend often with the internet and blogging, I decided to tweet my Thank You Note to God instead. I cannot promise to tweet in 365 days because internet is not 24/7 available to me. In suchcase, writing it in a notebook will do.

Journey with me as I spend the 365 days of gratefulness… Follow me at Twitter….

P.S. You may ask why not lifetime gratefulness? It’s actually lifetime, but the first 365 is just an initial way of conditioning myself to thank God instead of complaining (which I always did)…. A sort of forming a habit….

SFC ICON (Part 2)

The SFC ICON just ended. I felt renewed.

The last time I joined gatherings like this was 10 years ago. I was a Youth for Christ then… This time it’s different… I am matured…

I love gatherings like this. I love to see young adults praising and worshipping God. And I love to listen to their inspiring talks and testimonials on how God works and touches their life. Truly God is just in our sides waiting for us to respond His calling….

Yesterday we bid goodbye to Davao bringing God with us… And we say hello to Camarines – the next host for the SFC ICON….

P.S. Pictures are to be posted soon…

ICON for Singles for Christ

One sleep more to go and it’s Singles for Christ International Conference (SFC ICON). I’m super duper to the max (LOL) excited because it’s my first time to join on the said event. It’s a 3-day conference. I’m pretty sure we will get addicted to Christ; coz that’s what I felt when I joined the Youth for Christ Provincial Conference almost a decade ago. It’s an uplifting experienced that I’ll never forget!

I know this would be different from my Youth for Christ experience since we are now more matured and this is a conference of SFCs from different countries. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate with us.

Here’s the green card, actually badge that we’ll get once we get to the ICON area. I grab it from sfcglobal.org.

A Purpose Driven Life

Although waking up early is difficult for me, I still volunteered to cook for our breakfast starting last January 18. My father, who cooks for us, is getting older. Although he did not admit to us, I can sense that he is getting weaker. I know he loves to cook for us, but I think it’s high time to repay his service to us; it’s my time to serve him in return. Besides, like my father, I also love to cook.

Waking up early gives me the feeling of being matured and responsible and I am feeling closer to God. I decided to have a 40 day journey to a new me – that is searching my purpose here on earth. Using the book “Purpose Driven Life” by Rick Warren I hope I’ll be able to understand the meaning of my life and able to answer “Why on earth am I here for?”

Hopefully this time, I’ll be able to finish the book. Because the last time I read it, I was only up to 7th day. (Sigh..)

But congratulate me because I am now on my 9th day…..

Lord's Night

Tomorrow is our graduation day in Christian Life Program Seminar for Singles for Christ. They actually called it Lord’s Night. And it gonna be a Mega Lord’s Night since it’s a joint celebration of four clusters. So it’s some kinda scary especially that we’re the host of the big night. And yet were not prepared for our presentation. Hopefully tonight we can finalize it, by God’s grace.

Singles for Christ

I attended the Christian Life Program for Singles for Christ last Sunday. I do not know why I joined because lately I am so discouraged and upset that facing Him is not an option. I even have this feeling that He doesn’t really exist (I honestly felt guilt about this feeling). But on the other hand, I’m thirsty of His messages and longing the life of being God center.

I was active in Youth for Christ (YFC) ten years ago. Praising Him through singing and dancing together with different young adult coming from different places are just few activities that made it enjoyable. It’s different when you are close to Him, no exact word can describe my feelings. My spirit is lifted and everything seems to be light. It’s a magical feeling indeed.

However, studies and some other reasons kept me away from attending activities of YFC. So eventually I’m separated from christian life. I regularly attended Sunday mass, I prayed every night, before meal or sometimes when I wanted to just pray, especially when I’m upset. But it’s totally different. My life as a christian is slowly dying. There come to the point that I want to forget about everything about Him.

God loves me!

Before the speaker started her topic, which is “God’s Love,” we picked rolled paper which I thought a task assigned to us, but it was not! Instead, a Bible scripture was written. I was struck with His message, God really loves me. He did not answer those problems that made me upset, but He send a message assuring me He is with me, and all that I prayed will be answered according to His time.

The Bible Scripture:

WHEN YOU FEEL DISCOURAGED

O my soul, don’t be discouraged.
Don’t be upset.
Expect God to act!
For I know that I shall again have plenty
of reason to praise Him
for all that He will do.
He is my Help!
He is my God.
~ Psalm 42:11 ~
