Jen's Crafty Place with a Winter Spinner Card

HI!! Jenny from Jen's Crafty Place! I have a great interactive card today. It is a spinner card! I used some great files from Miss Kate Cuttables.  Before we get into the project, don't forget to get the FREEBIE of the day!!  Now on to the project!!

I used the "Christmas Penguin" file to cut the penguin two times. I flipped the one penguin horizontal. Then I used the Swirl Snowflakes Digi Paper to make a piece of paper to fit the front of my card. I sized it 1/4 inch smaller then my A2 card. My digi paper finished size is 4 x 5.25 inch.

I designed my card all on my Cameo 3 by Silhouette.  I made my penguins about 2.5 inches tall and made my hole circle larger, about 3 inches in diameter so the penguin can spin freely. I placed them all on my digital mat and cut all the images at once.

I laid a piece of clear thread across the hole and taped it very securely with scotch tape. Then I placed the thread between the two penguins and glued them to each other. Lastly, I added the digital paper on top and my card was finished. For the sentiment I used, " Winter Word Titles".

I didn't like the cut I got with the snowflakes on the sentiment so I had to hand trim them off. I also hand trimmed the white border. I cut the words at a length of 4 inches so the snowflakes were too tiny to have all the details in the snowflakes cut properly. If your cutter is up for the challenge, then leave them on. It is your choice!! I also added some Wink of Stella to the letters for a glistening effect. I used foam adhesive to pop up the sentiment when I was finished.

That is all I have for today! Thanks for joining me and don't forget to sign up for my newsletter!

You, Me and Penguin Makes Three!

Hi! Jenny from Jen's Crafty Place here to show you a fun winter card.

Before we get into my project, be sure to get your FREEBIE OF THE DAY over at Miss Kate Cuttables by clicking here.

Now back to my card, I used the adorable penguin from the Penguin Set.

I made both penguins since I was cutting anyway. This way I have one ready to go for my next project! (I also cut two more penguins from Penguins Set 1) See my blog for more detailed instructions on how to make this card and others.

Guest Designer- Christi Steinbeck

Hello!  Christi from Scrapping For Tranquility here!  I am stopping in to share my Guest design post for Miss Kate's Cuttables.  I just love her files!

Here is what I made:

I made a Diamond Fold card with the files I Love you Snow MuchWinter Owl and Girl-Winter Owl.  I just fell in love with these little winter owls as soon as I seen them.  I thought they made a "perfect couple".

Here is the Diamond Fold Card in the open position.
This is where I put the "I Love you Snow Much " sentiment.  I also made extra snowflakes that came with the files to decorate the card.

I used AC Cardstock for all my solids and I used DCWV , The Winter Solstice Stack for the Pattern paper.

I hope you enjoyed my post today and will leave me a comment!  I love to hear what you think!

Blessings,

Winter Layout

Hello! Hope your Winter is going great so far. I'm sharing a winter layout today for my design team project.

Everyday Miss Kate offers an amazing FREEBIE OF THE DAY. Stop over on the site to pick it up.

Winter 2016 brought our family a lot of snow in Western Pennsylvania. When you have to get out the snow blower you know it's a lot! The puppies were having so much fun in the snow so I grabbed my camera and snapped a few photos.

For my layout I used the Winter Words file from Miss Kates for my title. I created two offset shadows in my Silhouette Cameo software. I added foam tape between my gray and white layer to add dimension.

The little tag in the bottom right corner is from the Tag Set. I use this file a lot - stop by the store and grab it if you don't have it. I used the pen tool on the Cameo to do my journaling.

Thanks for stopping by today. Stop by tomorrow for the February Challenge and drop by my blog and follow along for more of my crafty projects.
