Happy Thanksgiving Leaves

Just a quick post today to say Happy Thanksgiving and show you an Autumn themed card I made with some new Stampendous Stamps.

When I saw this stamp set at CHA this summer I knew I had to have it.  They come with matching dies!

I embossed the leaves with copper embossing powder and used the matching dies to cut them out. No fussy-cutting here!

This card is on display at Impressive Ideas in Roswell, GA.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Mumeek! C4C160

Halloween is tomorrow and I wanted to color up this cute mummy-kid! I used this week's Crazy 4 Challenges sketch for the layout. I used black ink and clear embossing powder to give the lines some shine.
It was fun to play with the mummy shading and I didn't want to leave the strips white with a white background.  Gray gives it a nice soft color.  Some googly-eyes for the pumpkin wiggle for fun.
Finished size is 5.24 square.

  • Stamps: Stampendous - Mumeek, sentiment - unknown
  • Ink: Versafine - Onyx Black, Distress - Frayed Burlap, Cat's Eye - Lava Black
  • Paper: Neenah - Natural White, Echo Park - Chillingsworth Manor 6x6, PTI black
  • Copics: E30, E31, E34, E37, E95, E97, YG23, N1, N2, N3
  • Other: Spellbinders - Classic Ovals, clear embossing powder, heat gun, Michael's googly-eyes & black pearls, PTI buttons, Perfect Layers

Hollyhocks and Rhododendrons

The Color Throwdown has a great group of colors in this week's challenge!  They are Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo and Always Artichoke.  It was easy to put this card together with those colors.  And, they happen to match my rhododendrons (shown below)!

I paper pieced the blooms with 2 different patterned papers.  Added a little color with Copics for some dimension.  I popped the large right bloom.
Finished size is 6 x 6.25.
  • Stamps: Stampendous - Jumbo Hollyhock, Flourishes - Magnolias (sentiment)
  • Ink: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Versafine - Onyx Black
  • Paper: Basic Grey - Konnichiwa 6x6 & Basics 12x12, MME Love Me 6x6, SU! Melon Mambo & Always Artichoke
  • Spellbinders:  Grand Circles, Grand Large Scalloped Circles, Labels 25
  • Copics: RV32, RV34, G82, G85, G94
In 2003 I planted 5 Anna Rose Whitney Rhododendrons in my garden.  Four died and one thrived except for its blooming.  Each year I'd get 2 or 3 blooms MAYBE.  For some reason this year it looks fabulous!  Maybe it was our warm winter...

Stampendous - Daisy!

Today I'd like to show you a daisy card I made for Impressive Ideas.  I decided to keep it simple and use kraft cardstock and vintage sepia ink.  I heat set the ink so I could use my Copics for coloring (lightly!)  The butterfly is cut out and popped. The kraft paper background is stamped using a masking technique. Finished size is 5.5 x 5.5.

  • Stamps: Stampendous: Daisy Thanks
  • Ink: Versafine Vintage Sepia & Onyx Black
  • Paper: PTI Kraft, SU! Naturals White & Basic Black
  • Other: gingham ribbon, Copics

Poppies and New Look!

Like my new blog banner?  I love it!  Thanks to Michele Laycock for her design and the watermark too.  I also love these poppies in glass vases.  They are fun to color and I put Glossy Accents over the blue in the glass to make it shine.  Another fun addition is a Jillibean Soup Butterfly Sugar Pick, complete with pearls, to match the paper.

Matted it in black and light pink and used foam tape to adhere it to a hot pink card.  Finished size is 6 x 5 1/8.  On display at Impressive Ideas in Roswell, Ga.
