Shabby Birdhouse

A New Sewing Machine Lid

Yesterday I went to Antwerp / Belgium.

And there I saw the perfect sewing machine lid for

my haberdashery shop!

The lid is in super condition! No marks or woodworms!

I bought it directly. I promised Wim and Maritza van Soest to do

a nice haberdashery shop and to send photos of the shop.

I am really happy about the new lid. And now I can say good bye to the

old one!!!

The shop front matchs also to the lid. I like the decoration on the glass.

I will save the name Naumann and cut the hole on the back.

I am not sure about the colour of the front side. Any ideas???

Die kleine Puppenschneiderei / Litte Doll's Dressmaker Kit

For my toy shop I have done a doll's dressmaker kit.

On the internet I was searching for images which I can use for this project.

I was happy to find one. My next problem was to find a 

red fabric with tiny tiny white dots...... and a naked baby doll. 

I am really happy about the result.

When I was a child I had a little sewing machine. 

Now I am searching for little sewing machine

which I can put later in my haberdashery shop..

Start of my Beach House Project

This weekend I cut a lot of wooden coffee stirs.

I will use them to create a wooden floor.

I don't like the paper one. I use the paper one as a template.

My next nautical cross stitching projects

Here are my next nautical cross stitching projects:

3 Beach Houses in very bright coloures (I am not sure if I frame them or if I sew a pillow case as you can see on the magazine photo)

3 under the sea pictures (seahorses, starfish, octopus)

I like the contemporary designs.

Annette from England was so kind and sent me an extra beach house chart and a little card!!

Thank you very much Annette for this gesture of friendship!

Yesterday I went to my local haberdashery shop and bought me fabric and threads.

Hope to show you in the folowing weeks my finished nautical cross stitching projects.

It is a mini kit by DMC.

The size is approx. 7,5 x 7,5 cm.

The beach house is on 14 ct Aida fabric.

Do you think it is possible to do it smaller?

It was my first criss stich project.

Beach House Time-Table

Beach House Project

I am a member in a Dutch dolls house club and this year our group project is a veranda / porch.

I decided to use my new beach house kit for this project ( so I have some “pressure” to finish it).
2 years ago our group project was a toy shop. I am still working on that project. I hope to finish both group projects in December 2015!!!!!

 

Here is the veranda time table:

January / February (Construction):

We have to assemble the veranda. I will customized the kit. I would like to have a bigger veranda not only at the entrance. I will do also a real wooden flooring not only a paper one. I am also not satisfied with the glossy wallpaper. Maybe I paint the walls.

March (something to sit):

We have to do a chair, lounge set or a sun bed. I will do the Adirondack chair which came with the kit.

I will paint it again. The original paint is a mix of yellow and green and it looks terrible.

I will do also a little table and maybe some cushions.

 

April (Storage):

We have to do a “storage” furniture f.e. a rack or a little self. I will do a little cabinet for all the beach toys.

May (Animals on the veranda):

This is my biggest problem. Maybe I do a dog basket. I will use a blue/white striped fabric.  I hope to find a little cairn terrier in 1/24. If you know where I can buy one please contact me. Thank you. A wooden nautical bird house is also a nice idea.

June (swap):

In June we have our summer swap. I have to do something for my swap partner’s veranda.

July (Plants/ door wreath):

In July I have to some plants or a wreath for the veranda. A nautical wreath with sea shells would be nice. Or maybe a palm??

August (Drinks and Food):

In August we will do some drinks, food, a bbq or a cooking plate. I don’t work with Fimo so I will do no food. Maybe I will do a cooking plate.

September (Light):

In September we can do a light, a fan, candles, a little lantern.....

October (decoration):

In October we have to decorate our verandas.....cushions, pictures, candles.....this is really not a problem. I have lots of ideas!

November (free choice):

In November there is a free choice. Something for the beach house.....

December (Swap):

In December is also a swap. A little x-mas present for my swap partner’s veranda.

I really like our group project. There is also a monthly chat where we can change our ideas.

Beach House Kit Arrived!

 

 

Today my beach house kit arrived.

 

It is my first 1:24 project.

 

The kit contains the house, wallpaper, furniture, fabric, LED lights

and a musical movement!

 

The instructions are in Chinese and English.

 

You can find this kit on ebay uk.

 

The little beach house is later for the big one in Bredene/Belgium.

 

If you are interested you can rent it.

Doll's pram

 

 

I have upholstered a little doll's pram.

The doll's pram was 2013 in Els's advent calendar.

 

The biggest problem was to find the right fabric.

A fabric which is not so dominate.

 

I will put some of my new soft toys (raabbit, teddy bear and teddy girl) in the pram.
