Papertake Weekly Challenge

I had the urge to make a card (now there's a surprise), so I found this week's sketch on Papertake Weekly Challenge which is by Dawny, and here is my take on this fab sketch...

I just got the little wooden flowers (bottom left of card) today and had to use them so this kinda gave me a starting point. The image is a cutie Tilda from Magnolia, I love these stamps but they're gonna ruin me (well it's been my o/h that's buying them), so I'll have to make a zillion cards to justify all the recent purchases!

I also used:
- Tilda stamp of course
- Distress Inks (I love the colours and effects they give)
- DP Papermania Nostalgia Warm Collection
- Bazzil Card (Rust)
- Sentiment was improvised with a stamp and sticker
- Buttons from stash

Thanks for visiting ;o)

Finally...a couple of new cards!

Ok, I admit it, I've been a bad blogger recently. I just haven't had much time to craft, and then of course I messed up my blog etc (won't bore you with all the details). I've missed visiting all your blogs so seeing as the weather has been rubbish today, I finally had time to get in a bit of crafting! It seems like ages since I did a card! So now I have something to put on my blog! It took me ages to find some inspiration for my cards, I must be out of practice. The first one is for the New Magnolia Vs Stampavie Blog, it's a sketch which is cool! I've used one of my new Tildas, Nostalgia Warm paper pack from Papermania...

I coloured the image using Distress Inks, but I put some sparkly paint on it too. You can just about make it out on the detail pic...

The second card is for Friday Sketchers blog, sketch #26 by Jacqueline. The image is a RAK, it's from Sugar Nellie. Rest is from stash. I don't do very many bright cards, I'm not sure about this one, maybe just a bit too much colour for me...

Thanks for being patient, I know my blog hasn't been very interesting lately!

Tilda Challenge with another New Tilda

I thought I'd have a go at the Tilda & Co Challenge seeing as I've got a few new Tildas recently. This little Tilda was another surprise from my hubby, he'd better be careful as I might start getting used to these surprises lol! The sketch I followed is from last Sunday. I used my Distress Inks to colour her, which I really love now! The dp is Paper Mania Nostalgia Warm Collection, Swirl stamp is Inkadinkado, sentiment stamp is Woodware.

As I'm typing this post I have a snoring little cat sleeping on my lap, Réglisse - bless him! My hubby calls him my Crafter's Companion (he's seen Sara from CC on TV)!

Have a relaxing weekend, thanks for popping by x

More New Tildas!

Well I have to say I'm a fan of Magnolia stamps, although I only had ONE until last week! My hubby had done a bit of online shopping, and surprised me with FIVE new Tildas! Whey Hey! So this is Tilda chosen by my o/h, his taste's not bad for a man! No offence to any men reading this! I'll have to get some "scenery" stamps from Magnolia to compliment my Tildas now! Anyway, I made this little wallet card for my friend Tracy, and put in a few Tildas etc. I coloured the image with distress inks, I've only just discovered this technique but find it gives really nice results. The paper is from a Paper Mania paper pack. The words are embossed on my Cuttlebug, using the "You" embossing folder. I'm gonna do some more cards with this image, she'll come in handy for some Christmas cards!

The second card is for another friend who's been having a few worries recently, so this was just to say I was thinking of her! The stamp was again chosen by my o/h, she's adorable! I coloured her with distress inks again. The sentiment is from a See D's Christmas set.

Good Morning All! What a gorgeous, sunny autumn day it is here! A perfect blue sky, glorious sunshine but with a crisp bite in the air! And what lovely colours with all the trees turning all shades of gold and red! Hope it's as lovely where you are!

On to my cards, this week I so loving working in my new craftroom! And to top that my hubby has gone and spoiled me again! He suprised me with some new Sugar Nellies, Tildas and Distress Inks! How nice is that! So I've made use of my new goodies to create cards for two challenges. The first card is for Cute Card Thursday, where the theme this week is "Autumn", yipee! - Distress Inks to colour (Tattered Rose, Frayed Burlap, Mustard Seed, Black Soot)
- Bazzil Card (Rust)
- Sentiment stamp by Woodware
- Heart Brads etc from my stash (it's getting bigger by the day!!!)

The second is for A Spoonful of Sugar challenge, this week it's a fabby sketch by Lim. I used one of my new Nellies, isn't she cute?!

French/American Wedding

Tomorrow I'm off to an autumn (or fall if you're American) wedding! My American friend is getting married to a frenchman in a little chatĂȘau nearby! So I'll have to get my posh frock on, whey hey! Not often I get to dress up so it'll be fun! I've made this little card for the couple, I kind of struggled as I don't really have any cute images suitable for weddings etc, so I used a stamp I've had for a while, it kind of fits with the champagne glasses seeing as the wedding is in France! The papers are from the Nostalgia Warm Collection by Paper Mania, the rest is from my stash. Oh and the flourish (or swirl) is from Inkadinkadoo!

The wedding is due to go on right through the night, so I can see me being a tad tired by 6am Saturday morning! I'll let you know how it goes...

Cute Card Thursday Challenge - Pretty in Pink

It's just turned midnight and I had nothing better to do when I came in from work at 10.30pm so I made a card for this week's Cute Card Thursday Challenge. I find that crafting helps me wind down after a long day at work, and tonight I got to play with one of my new stamps! The theme is "Pretty in Pink" so I think I've kept to the brief...

I used:

My new Sugar Nellie stamp coloured with brush markers
Cuttlebug Embossing folders (You and Swiss Dots)
Distress Ink (Tattered Rose and Aged Mahogany)
Pink Swirly Paper from Paper Mania
Studio G flower stamp
Flowers, buttons etc from stash

Cute Card Thursday Challenge - Bright Colours

Hi again! Well I think this is a pretty good challenge considering the miserable weather we've been having (well not so much in France but definately in the UK so I'm told)! This week's Cute Card Thursday Challenge is to use bright colours, so I've done a card using a Lilo & Milo image (or Lilo & Stitch as my o/h calls them). I've kinda played it safe a bit on the colours but they're bright, or at least I think so. Here's the card...

I used:

- Image (again RAK from Tracy, you're so kind) which I coloured in with w/c paints
- Papers from my stash (lilac Bazzil card, pink paper Paper Mill Shop, run through my Cuttlebug-swiss dots)
- Sentiment is a mixture of two; with is stamped from Woodware mini phrases and Love is a rub-on from Paper Mania
- Heart is a die-cut from Paper Mania
- Ribbon, buttons and gems from stash

NEW ABC-Challenge Blog!

I discovered yesterday that there's a new challenge blog called ABC Challenge, and they've got some great candy for their first challenge. For the first week of this challenge blog the theme is animals, and seeing as I love our little furry friends I thought I'd have a go! I've gone with Penny Black (any excuse to use my new stamps), they really know how to do cute animals! So here is my card:

This is what I used:

- Penny Black Stamp "Bunny Kiss" coloured with w/c paints
- Adore Die Cut (Three bugs in a rug) I added faux stitching
- Dotted paper (PM Colossal Pack Brights)
- Green velour paper (Elco)
- Brad, ribbon, glitter etc from stash
- Borders & flowers are doodled

I wanted to add ribbon on bottom (tied between eyelets) but it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to!

Friday Sketchers #9 & Cute Card Thursday #17

This is a combined Challenge as time is tight this week, hope this is ok?! The theme on Cute Card Thursday Challenge Blog this week is "The Great Outdoors" so I went with a garden theme, and I followed the sketch from this weeks Friday Sketchers Blog.

The image was sent to me from Tracy, it's from Sugar Nellie (I think), she's really cute! I coloured her with my BARGAIN OF THE WEEK, a set of watercolour paints I bought from Aldi today for 1,99 Euros! They're lovely to paint with, can't go wrong at that price!!! The paper is from Dovecraft, grosgrain ribbon from Poppy Crafts, gems from Paper Mania and the little butterfly charm was from my stash. Sentiment from Woodware (I know, AGAIN you say, but they're just the right size to fit into a corner).

This is a close up of the little charm, I've had these for ages and never used them until now!

Tilda & Co Sunday Challenge - Dots

Hi! Been really busy this week so not had any time to myself! So that means no crafting either, except for this little 'New Home' card! I got a lovely surprise this week from Diane (Pink Sunflower), a whole load of Magnolia images! So I've used three little houses and a sun to make my card. I really like the stamps, they're fun! I've added dotty clouds as this weeks Tilda & Co Challenge theme is dots, I've also used some dotty ribbon.

Hello Notelets - Penny Black Saturday Challenge

What a scorcher it's been today, 30° to be precise, and there's not much drop in temperature yet (it's 10pm)! I'll never be able to sleep as our bedroom is in the loft! Anyway, just finished my Penny Black Saturday Challenge so thought I'd get it posted as will be pretty busy in the next few days so won't be doing much blogging. I've kind of bent the rules as I haven't exactly made a card to give to a friend although I know the theme is Friendship. Instead I've made a set of notelets for my friend who is moving to Switzerland on Sunday! I want to give her these notelets so she can send a little hello back to her friends in France once she gets settled in her new home. I've included matching envelopes, and I've also made a little presentation box for them. So here they are;

This is what I used;

-Penny Black Transparent Set - Bubbly
-Paper Mania Colossal Paper - Vibrant
-Watercolour pencils to colour image
-Paper Punches (ornate square and flower)
-Studio G Clear Stamps - Hello
-Ladybirds cut from paper I have in stash
-A few gems, ribbon, inking and doodling just for good measure!
-The box is made using the Crafter's Companion Board and then decorated with Decopatch
