Craft Retreat 2010

Today I went to the norwegian dollhouse show at Sola, just outside Stavanger. I met several of my "mini-friends", including fellow bloggers Rita, Janne and Synnøve. And I did some shopping, of course! Sadly I forgot to bring my camera, so these two pictures taken with my phone are the only ones I have from the show.

These dollhouses were made in a class arranged by Tone.

These are the things that I bought! The decanter is by Glasscraft, the dress is by Solveig Gulbrandsen, and the other items are from Minst.

The dress went straigt to a hanger in my little girl`s bedroom.

And the teddybear sits nicely next to a bear I already had.

The decanter went in my Country Victorian dining room.

The china is by Stokesay Ware, the candlesticks are by Royal Tunbridge Wells, the silver tray is by Mike Sparrow, the other silver items are by Simply Silver, the cake is by The English Kitchen, the gooseberries are by Christel Jensen, the wine glasses are by Gerd Felka and the lace tablecloth is by Eleonora Cappelletti. Table and chairs are Bespaq.

The old wash basin/bucket is now in the wizard`s cottage.

Looks like he`s been in the forest and found some mushrooms....

One of these small baskets are in the wizard`s bedroom...

And the other one is in the Tuscan Villa.

I also brought my two sons to the show. This is what my oldest son Noah bought. The buns were made by a thirteen year old boy. I was impressed, they look great!

Kasper also wanted a wreath....

We all had a great time at the show! It`s always so much fun to admire other people`s work, and chat with fellow miniaturists. :-D

Noah shopped online

Noah has done some online shopping for the first time. This is what he bought from Elf Miniatures. Both the dishwasher and the vacuum cleaner makes a sound when you press the buttons. The vacuum cleaner is a bit bigger than 1:12, but Noah loves it, so it doesn`t matter. :-)

Mr and Mrs Bear

Here`s Teddy Bear with his misses, Polar Bear. I bought them in Lübeck in Germany a couple of years ago. They weren`t actually meant for the kids to be playing with them. I like Steiff teddy`s, so I bought them for myself. But they are a good size for 1:12 miniatures, so I thought the kids would enjoy them even more than I would.

I have just made some bedlinen... Noah picked out the fabrics.

Lights in the roombox

Noah and I have been working on his roombox. I found some of my old lamps, and installed them.

I made a bed for Teddy, and Noah painted it dark green. I am also going to make bedlinen with the fabrics Noah has picked out.

I made the kitchen counter and the shelf on the wall. The sink is an empty Nespresso coffee capsule. Far left under the sink is an opening fridge he borrowed from me. There is an avaliable space under the counter far right, where the dishwasher will go. I asked Noah what he wanted in his house before I started making the counter, and he said a dishwasher and a vacumer, so we ordered those from Elf miniatures.

He got the viking, viking ship, snowman and map of Iceland from Kristín Trampe. Jane in our local dollhouse club made the candlestick.

Indoor activities

The cold weather has made us stay indoors most of the time this weekend, so I thought it would be a good idea to create something for the kids to keep them occupied. We went to a store that sell building supplies, and they gave us some leftover mdf. Then we went to my parents and did some sawing and hammering in their basement, and then we went home to finish it. We made a roombox for two small Steiff teddy bears! I painted the floor and ceiling white, and Noah painted the outside. He chose light pink.

He also got to choose the wallpaper...

We then put up a wall inside it, and added some minis. Some of these are Noah`s and I let them borrow something of mine as well.

They especially liked the opening fridge from Elf miniatures. Noah made the cupcakes on the table, and he bought the wedding cake from Christel at the local dollhouse show last year. She gave him the green cake as a gift! He also bought the knitted clothes at the show, and was given some of the other items as a gift from some of the vendors there.
