My Creative Time - Valentine goodie bag

 Happy 2024!  So much has happened since my last post on Black Friday.

My husband, Bruce of 34 years passed away on December 2.  He had been in declining health since early spring of 2023 after a horrible fall off his electric scooter.  He hit his head on the street and that was the beginning of the decline.  He developed shingles 3 days after the fall and from then on, it seemed like one thing after the other.  He passed peacefully, without pain and I was blessed to be at his side.  The holidays were challenging and I didn't feel much like crafting so the break from My Creative Time was good.  I think I made gift tags one afternoon but other than that, I was not in my studio.  Bruce and I spent many days together (he in his office and me in the studio) for the past 10 years since we downsized into our condo.  Today was the first I spent any amount of time there to create this cute Valentine project with My Creative Time products.

I'm used to making treat for Bruce, but this time I made these adorable little treat bags for my three local grandchildren.  They are grown now but they always like the treats.

First off, aren't these adorable chocolates cute????  I got them at Aldi.  If you have an Aldi where you live, I hope you love it as much as I do.  These chocolates are comparable to what Trader Joes would offer at a very affordable price.

I chose a gusseted bag so I could get in more goodies.  You can find these at most Walmart, Target or your craft stores that sell Wilton items.  This is the 3 inch bag so it fits perfectly using the Pretty Treat Topper.

This die is scheduled for retirement so run to Emma's site to shop!

Now back to my project!  To make the bag sturdier, I cut a paper base to fit and scored it so now my bag would "sit up" straight.  It's so easy to do.  Measure the width of your bag - mine was 3 inches.  The I measured the bottom of my bag and added 2 inches.  After cutting I scored one inch on each side of the LONGER side.  Fold on the score lines and it will fit perfectly at the bottom of your bag.  I added some white shreds (I never throw them out when I get them) and began to add the treats.  I folded down the top and stapled the Pretty Treat Topper in place.

Emma's Valentine Paper Pad from last year was the perfect compliment to my project.

The Fun Valentine Paper Pad had everything else I needed to finish.

My Creative Time - Tags!

 I'm busting at the seams with pride and joy for this tag!

I used the Small Loopy Tag dies to create this tag, but it could also be used

on the front of a gift bag or card.

Besides being CUTE, it was so easy!

Before adhering the leaves I inked around the edges with Distress Ink (Tea Dye)

and if you look closely you will see a bit of sparkle on the edges of

the leaves that I added with Stickles.

Tuesday Tags with My Creative Time!

 I often speak of the versatility of Emma's products and today 

I took a tag die and turned it into a pumpkin box filled with Halloween treats.

Emma makes it easy with her mix and match stamps & dies.

This was such an easy project to put together!

If you have "special" trick or treaters that like to give something extra

to, these would reproduce very easily.

Candy Corn 6x6 Paper Pad

I added some Stickles to the tips of the leaves as well as some shading

with Distress Ink.  I actually distressed the pumpkin edges as well to make it

a more two toned color.  For the final touch I added a small bow at the stamp 

of the leaves.  I love it!

My Creative Time Sneaky Peek Week for 134th Edition! Day 1

 We have such an exciting week for you!

Signs of summer are sprinkled through this release and you will feel you just have to sit in the sun and soak up some Vitamin D after seeing all the great creations!  Today I used two new sets:

Just BEE-Cause Stamps & Dies & Big Daisy Die

To start the week off, I created a "pocket card".  This is an easy fold to do and creates

a lot of interest when you open it up.

The little white note card with the sentiment can be pulled out of it's "pocket"

so you can easily write your note.  Adding a final touch is that 

adorable tiny BEE.  I mean isn't he the cutest!

I used a circle die from my stash (either the 3inch circle dies or the 4 inch)

to create the spot on the front for the adorable larger daisy die!

Simple! Cute! So MCT!

My Creative Time is celebrating 13 years! Day 1 of our new release!

MCT Day 3 - 131st Release

  Tea has certainly gained popularity over the past 

few years and I'm delighted that Emma is celebrating with this Tea inspired release.

Something else that goes with tea are doilies.  Again it's a Victorian touch

and adds so much elegance to any tea gift or favor.

Look how adorable this little packet of tea is!  What an adorable favor or small

gift!  I have a best-tea who will love this.

I layered all three of our new Eyelet Doily Dies on top of each other

and then used another tea cup cut out to finish off the gift.

The script or font Emma used this release is so delicate!  You are going to love it.

My Creative Time Newest Release! Worth waiting for!!!!

 So many words to describe this week!

Adorable, cute, and TEAriffic are just a few!

Let's hop right into my card for today.

My weather here in Indiana sure doesn't look or feel like spring, but this release has me in a great mood.

Look at the paper!  How adorably cute and springy is the paper.  Of course

you know Emma is going to give us great paper pads with cut outs and dies

so that our crafting time is so easy.  I could not resist cutting out the

teapot and cup and using my Pretty Scallop & Layer die set to 

showcase the cutouts.  It's a simple card that packs a punch of

cuteness and is perfect to sent to your bestie!

My Creative Time - Make it Manly!

 I remember the first time I saw

the Dots, Solids & Stripes paper pad that

goes with LET IT SNOW set.  I knew this paper would also be

my go-to for manly cards.  Today I needed a birthday card for

a male.  I had ordered the Love You Lots stamp & Die set because I love Gnomes!

Today I finally got to use him!

I stamped him and used my Copic markers to color him to coordinate with the paper pad.  With so many colors in this stripe I just knew I could find the perfect combination.

I used a colored cardstock for my base because I think it looks more "manly" - LOL!

I think this Gnome colored up pretty cute all decked out in purple!

I also did a white panel on the inside and stamped another sentiment.

The patterned paper strip at the bottom just gives it a finishing touch.

What a fun card to create!

Just a hint - if you like doing layers - use the Cute Card Dies!  I was looking through my stash and I couldn't believe I've never used these for card layers!  How perfect!

My Creative Time 130th Edition Blog Hop & Release!

 I would imagine you are all excited that this was a short week

as we introduced you to Emma's latest product release.  That means Friday came a lot 

quicker.  This morning as I was scrolling through posts from my Design Team sisters I 

admit I squealed a few times!  Everything is just too cute!

I had hoped I'd feel well enough to do a video, but working on the

computer was just a little more than I could handle, but here is a recap of this week's 

projects!

I just love these two new paper pads as they will carry us through spring

crafting with bright and cheery colors.

Today for our blog hop, I'm bringing you a split card using multiple sheets of paper as well as products from the existing line.  I am in love with the Pretty Scallop ANYTHING collection - lol!

I rarely use colored cardstock bases but I just had to on this one as it set off

the scallop edges.  Using the new Ginger Easter Bunnies Stamps & Dies for this card made

it easy as I colored a couple more images and allowed them to be 

center stage!  The fun part about a card like this is that you can use

scraps on the front instead of cutting into a brand new sheet of paper.

she adds another one to her existing sets!

Meet the Pretty Scallop Tall Tag Dies

This New die coordinates with the existing Tall Tag Frame Die Layers and Frame Dies!

It's a great way to add interest to your projects!

I have started to use tags as cards as they fit perfectly in an A2 Size envelope.

I couldn't resist adding the Pretty Oval Scallop Dies to set the framework

for the adorable bunnies cut from the new Spring Gingers paper pad!

The sentiment and die comes from Day 1 of our sneaks.

I layers papers from the Spring Ginger Paper pad and did I tell you how nice it

is to use these papers due to the weight of the paper???  They will give your project so

much polish as they are not flimsy at all!

If you have followed me, you know I like to draw on the faces & eyelashes because

they are so fun!  These little Gingers didn't disappoint - you are going to love them!

My Creative Time 130th Release week - Sneaky Peeks #1

 There seems to be a little bit of spring in the air and this week,

the My Creative Design Team gets to share a sample of what is to come!

I love this time of year (although I get impatient) and wait longingly for the sunshine

to appear here in Indiana.  Right now, we could have any kind of weather, even snow, but

this release will not disappoint you if you are anticipating spring!

Doesn't this scene just scream SPRING!

What is cuter than two bunnies skipping on a hillside?

I just had to color these bunnies as soon as I opened them and you can

see that I didn't have a lot to color.  So quick and easy!

I used my chalks to color the ears, and my Copic markers on the bunnies & basket.

Because I wanted to use both NEW paper pads, I finished the inside of my

card with another stamped sentiment allowing for plenty of room to write a note on the 

gorgeous pretty Scallop rectangle!

This is such a fun week!  I will admit, I usually take the EASY route and use the dies

to cut out the pre-colored images in the paper pads, but I wanted white bunnies and they

were super easy to color.  Having both of the new paper pads will make spring projects easy peasy!
