My Minds Eye paper collection!

Hi all! I’m very excited to share with you a new set of cards that I’ve completed today. These are created from a 6 x 6 paper pad from My Minds Eye. The touch of gold adds an elegance to these cards. I was able to get 32 cards out of this paper pad which I am thrilled with that number. It was well worth my time to get that many top quality all occasion cards. I did a quick video so that you can see each card up close. Stay tuned for video #2 where I explain the process I go through when I’m making this set of cards.

Here are two of the cards from this set!
Both using Cardztv stamps!

Here is the prep video showing you how I prepared for making
these 32 cards!

Thank you for stopping by.

If you are enjoying my posts, please leave a quick message.  I'd love to hear from you.

Shaped cards!

EARLY IN my card making career
I would love to view blogs that featured
shaped cards.  This card is a Lori Whitlock file
and it was so easy to put together.

Since retiring on December 1 of last year,
I think I've started to feel more domestic!  LOL.
My mixer has been getting use and
when I saw this file I just couldn't resist.
Of course when you purchase the file it's yours
so you can make this over and over again.

Of course I had to use my favorite Cardztv Stamp sets,
Sugar Rush & Foodie Punnies to finish
off the card on the outside and inside.

Have a terrific Memorial Day weekend
and remember those who have honored
our country by giving the ultimate sacrifice.

God Bless the USA!

Mother's Day Cards!

Happy Day everyone!

Yesterday I made 11 Mother's Day cards!
Yes, you read that correct.  Even though my own mother
has been gone for years, I try and make cards for the other
"moms" in my life.  Some are granddaughters in love, some are
daughters in love, others are friends.  I just love making
cards!  I cannot take credit for this design!
It was inspired by Mary Grubbs the founder of
Cardztv.  I have watched and loved Mary's blog for years.
She has taught me so much about card crafting and I
was honored to serve on her Design Team for years.

This design is PERFECT for using up scraps of paper
and these papers come from a favorite Paper Studio paper pad
called Lola and Luca.

I even used a strip from my scraps to finish off
the inside of my card.  My sentiment comes from
two different My Creative Time Mother's day
sets.

The flowers come from Create a Critter cut with my
Cricut and also used Elegant Edges for make the
mat that the flower sits on.  I use the Elegant Edges set so
often, I created a file and saved it.  Love my Cricut!

Happy Spring!

Happy New Year!

When I look how long it's been
since I've updated my blog I am amazed!

I have struggled since June when I had a surprise
diverticulitis attack.  I had never had that kind of pain
and I didn't know what brought it on - but none the less I got it!
I began by eliminating gluten from my diet and began eating
a veto friendly diet which I was sure would
heal me, however I had two more attacks and was sent to
a surgeon for a consult.  Our initial plan was to wait until the
middle of January to see how I was doing and discuss whether surgery
was needed.  Unfortunately I had another attack 4 days after
a routine colonoscopy.  This one put me in the hospital right before
Christmas for two days on IV fluids and antibiotics.
I had another micro perf in my bowel
and I am sure now that surgery will not be an option but a necessity.
That being said, I am almost finished with this course of
antibiotics and will see the surgeon again in January.

Needless to say I did not get much crafting done prior to
the holidays.  Today I decided to use some of the images I
colored and make some small little 3x3 notes.

For starters, I have made a faith & prayer journal for 2018.
Here is a picture of a "used" Kate Spade Agenda that I purchased
online.  I wanted something with a zipper so the contents would be protected.
I take this journal with me on Sunday mornings
and as the pastor and church members talk about people who
need prayers, I have notes ready for me to personalize
and give to them.  This journal also serves as the location to keep
my  ongoing prayer list and sermon notes.

This morning I decided to add in a couple more
3x3 cares today for birthday and thinking of you.
If you have ever read my blog before, you know I LOVE making
this little size card.  Cardztv has a PERFECT set to use
on these little cards - it's called Mini Messages!
Love the font and this set has a message for anything!

Here are two more cards I made this morning!

The little snowman is on a mini action wobble!
It is so cute!

Sorry for the lighting on this set, but I wanted to show you
how adorable these cards are.  Also - I only used
scraps for all of these cards.  Love that I can create something
so cute from paper scraps.

Thank you for stopping by today.
I am hopeful that I will soon be able to update
my blog much more often than in the previous
6 months.

Happy New Year everyone!

Getting ready for fall!

Anyone else feeling like
fall is right around the corner?

This past weekend I spent a little time
in my craft area to create.

My first card was inspired by a shaker card
I saw on Pinterest and I had every
intention of creating a shaker card BUT I
forgot to adhere the clear plastic
to my top layer on my shaker!!!

DUH!  Oh well - on to plan B!

I just adhered the sequins on my
card to add a bit of fun.

Here is a side view showing you how much
dimension this card has - I love it.

I used Cardztv Spooky Sayings for my sentiment.

My next card also has a fall theme.
I've been dying to try my "new to me" Distress Oxide inks.
A stamper friend was selling a lot of her supplies
online and I was able to grab about 10 of them.
Check out my cool leaf SHAKER card!

I started by putting 3 different colors of ink on
my paper blending each color into the other one.
Then I spritzed my card with a little water
and right before my eyes, the ink CHANGED into
almost a suede look!  It was so cool.

Here's a closeup of the card.

My sentiment came from Cardztv Mini Messages!!!

I love that stamp set so much, it never gets stored away -
it just stays on my stamp desk!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Please don't think summer is over - I was
just in the mood to start thinking fall!

Get crafty!

Love making 3x3 cards with Cardztv Stamps!

If you have followed my blog
you know that I have a love for
making 3x3 cards.  Mary from
Cardztv created an awesome set called
Mini Messages that contains almost any
sentiment you might need.

My BFF is having an anniversary soon
and I plan to make a treat from my kitchen to
take to her.  The 3x3 cards are a perfect compliment
to gifts like this.

I had a new diecut from My Creative Time that
I had not used yet so it was the perfect anchor
for my card.  I made my own banner and
stamped Happy Anniversary from the Mini
Messages set and added it as the final
touch.  A few sequins and a Wink of Stella
pen was all I needed to finish my project.

Thank you for stopping by my blog.
Don't forget to enter the challenge at Cardztv.
You have until July 27th to link up
your creation.

Happy Crafting!

Cardztv Mailbox Smiles Design Team Challenge #4

Welcome to the 4th Challenge for
the Cardztv Mailbox Smiles Team!

I'm excited to bring you one of my
favorite card designs - an awesome SHAKER card!

I sort of have a thing for things that sparkle
and when shaker cards started to make an appearance
I was all over the process.
I  like to shop on Amazon and one
evening while browsing a "die" popped up as a
suggestion from something I put in my cart.  I loved
the die, but I loved the price even more!  It
was like $3.99!  That is a steal compared
to what I normally pay for dies so I was
curious and I wanted to see if the die actually
delivered a good strong cut.

Guess what???  It did!
Here's my shaker card:

I used the Cardztv Mixed Messages sentiment
which fit perfectly in the center window of the die cut.

I actually used the die 6 times and glued 5 of them
together for the depth to allow my shaker bits to move
around.  I took the top die and glued a piece of acetate
on for the window portion.  I had fun picking out some
shaker bits to match the color scheme and then I
placed the top die cut.

I love how it turned out and I'm pretty sure
whoever I decide to send to will certainly
"get their happy on"!

Thanks for stopping by!
Make sure and join the challenge and post
your creation on Cardztv blog page.

Happy crafting!

Butterfly card for Cardztv Challenge!

I love butterflies and use
them frequently on summer cards.
How fun when I realized that Cardztv had a
Designer Challenge just for that!

In looking through my card stash, I didn't
have any sympathy cards and really
needed one to send this week.

I used an embossing folder and
chalked the images with a finger dauber and
a Q tip.  I added three butterflies using
a Stampin Up little embossing folder.

My sentiment comes from HEARTFELT WISHES
a stamp set from Cardztv.  I reach for this stamp set
over and over to send encouraging cards!
It's really a must have for all card makers!

Thanks for stopping by and why not get
creative today and make your own butterfly card!

Watercolors - New to me!!!

I love techniques and while
using watercolors is not a new one,
it's new to me!

Kristina Werner has awesome videos and is
a master of water coloring.  This is my
first attempt.

I used Cardztv stamps on the inside but
a die on the outside.

It's a Christmas Tea Invitation

I have a quick post for you showing
you a simple but elegant Christmas Tea
invitation I am sending out tomorrow.

I've blocked out the address, but I think you
can get the idea of how to create.  I used my
computer and printer for the invite part and
then I relied on some glue, sequins, twine, die cuts
and stamps to finish this off.

This was a fun, fun project and I
hope I've inspired you to try your hand
at your own invitations this holiday season.

Here's a quick video.

Thanks for stopping by.  Be sure
and leave me a comment and share
what you would like to see for my videos.

Cardztv 3D Design Team Challenge - Thanksgiving Place cards!

I love that Mary, the master mind behind
CARDZTV STAMPS asked me to be on her
3D design team.  I love making cards, but I
also have a passion for extending my paper crafting into
other outlets.  This challenge is perfect!  Are you ready?

Join us on October 31, 2014 for this fun and
exciting challenge.  Since today is Halloween, right
around the corner is Thanksgiving and some of
us are already planning our menus.  Thanksgiving
is a day to give thanks for each other, good food and the many
blessings of life.  Sometimes our families need some
direction at the tables, so Mary has
asked that we create Thanksgiving place cards.
You know I think I remember making these when I
was a kid with construction paper!
Well, today I used my Silhouette and got
this cute pilgrim hat that holds a sucker!

The banner is part of the cut too and instead of a
name, I added Thanksgiving greeting using
Cardztv Stamps!  I used THANKFUL FOR YOU &
COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS  stamps sets.

Love how this turned out and talk about
easy peasy!!!  Wow!  I plan to cut a few more of these
out for our Thanksgiving and let the grands assemble.
They love to craft!

Okay are you ready to join the challenge?
You have until November 13th to enter
the challenge over on Cardztv blog.

One lucky winner will get their choice of a
set of Cardztv stamps!  I can't wait to see what you
create!  Leave me a message and join via
Bloglovin if you like what you see!  Lots more
creative things coming your way for the holidays!

Thanks for stopping by!

Blast from the past!

My husband and myself have finally
made the decision to downsize and move from
our home into a condo.  We made an offer two weeks
ago and it was accepted so now the packing
begins.  This week I began packing up my craft loft and
can I tell you, this is tough!  We all know most of us
are paper hoarders and we have do dads of all kinds.
Both my Cricut Expression & Silhouette Cameo
are now put away.  My cuttlebug and dies are packed.
I gave away more set of Stampin Up stamps than
I care to think of - so what does that leave me?
A very clean craft room!  LOL!

I felt like this would be a good chance to post
some of my previous projects that I have loved
so much.  Thank you for your support!
I love that you follow my blog and if you've just
happened upon my blog for the first time,
stay tuned!  If all goes well, I should be
crafting again in September!

Since I'm eating cherries - I thought this would be an
appropriate card.  Featuring Cardztv Stamps, I love this card.

Happy Anniversary!

I'm sure you all feel how FAST
life is moving these days, right?  Well
right before my eyes, my son and daughter in law
celebrated their anniversary and I was so busy
it passed me by and I didn't get a card made :(
Well, today I made up for it!
Here's whats going in the mail tomorrow:

The owls are a Stampin Up punch and I only
punched them out in black so I could use them as
silhouettes.  The branch and leaves I found in
the Silhouette store.  I used four
dies from My Creative Time for the clouds, sun
and mats on the inside.

Of course I had to sprinkle some sequins from
My Craft Spot, twine from Trendy Twine and sentiments
from Cardztv, FOR THE BIRDS.

HAVE A GREAT SUNDAY EVERYONE!

Let's Party!

Hi Everyone! Welcome to Readysetstamp’s 5 year anniversary blog hop! I'm helping
my friend Julie celebrate her 5 years of having fun paper crafting.
Today's hop is called ANYTHING GOES, that way
we can give you a variety of ideas.

For my project today, I did a remake of a favorite card I made
over a year ago. The idea first came from
Pinterest where I was seeing all of these layered
cards. I wanted to try my hand and this is what I created first....

I used a Cardztv stamp set for my sentiment and a cut
using my Cricut for the mug of coffee.

Today, I made a few changes.
I used a My Creative Time Die for the
coffee cup, MCT sentiments inside and out,
and solid black twine from Trendy Twine.

Okay, on with the rest of the hop!

Here’s the lineup:

Shawnee- http://sunshinycards.blogspot.com
