My Creative Time - Make it Manly!

I remember the first time I saw

the Dots, Solids & Stripes paper pad that

goes with LET IT SNOW set.  I knew this paper would also be

my go-to for manly cards.  Today I needed a birthday card for

a male.  I had ordered the Love You Lots stamp & Die set because I love Gnomes!

Today I finally got to use him!

I stamped him and used my Copic markers to color him to coordinate with the paper pad.  With so many colors in this stripe I just knew I could find the perfect combination.

I used a colored cardstock for my base because I think it looks more "manly" - LOL!
I think this Gnome colored up pretty cute all decked out in purple!

I also did a white panel on the inside and stamped another sentiment.
The patterned paper strip at the bottom just gives it a finishing touch.

What a fun card to create!

Just a hint - if you like doing layers - use the Cute Card Dies!  I was looking through my stash and I couldn't believe I've never used these for card layers!  How perfect!

My Creative Time - Make it Manly!

Hello to everyone stopping by today!

First off, thank you for an amazing release week and blog hop for Emma's 129th Edition.  It was a great fun week and I'm so glad you played along.  If you missed it, fear not!  You can use the "older Post" button at the end of this post and see everything I created and get links to our blog hop!

Now onto our project for today!

I was in the Dollar Tree the other day looking over all the Valentine Candy and I came across these pretzel rods.  I sure hope they are good because I made this project for the hubby on Valentine's Day.

I used:
Love you Most (stamps and dies)

Here's a quick video showing how this project all came together.

My Creative Time Make it Manly!

I'm so excited to show you my manly card for today!

I think fall is the easiest time to create masculine projects because of the color theme and we can be "outdoorsy" by using leaves!

My Creative Time dies to the rescue!

If you don't already have this set, get it!  You can do so many things with leaves
on your projects.  When I'm creating fall designs I always use my scraps along with these leaf dies and have the perfect embellishments for everything!

Add that and Lots of Greetings and a Square Tag Die and your project is done!

Happy Fall Y'all!

MCT Make it Manly!

I hope you all had a chance to get in some crafting time over the holiday!

I always feel that Labor Day is a "reset" for many of us as we begin to head into fall.

I live in Indiana so our temps have not started to cool off yet, but there are signs of fall coming.

We recently had overnight guests for several days which meant I NEEDED to clean my

craft space so it wasn't so much a disaster.  Oh wow, does it look good but I knew when I started a new project I would make a mess again, so I challenged myself to use nothing but scraps to make my manly card.  The only full piece of cardstock used was the card base, everything else came from my scrap bin.  How fun!  I would love it if you would join me in this challenge!

The twine came from my stash as well as the black sequins.
I love the gray tones and the pop of blue!  What a great way to use up those never ending strips of paper!

Happy Crafting!

My Creative Time - Make it manly!

We have another fun challenge for you today!  Whenever I need a male inspired card, I reach for my darker, muted tone paper. I recently used the paper pad shown in the picture from Paper Studio to get a total of 73 cards!  I used this paper pad and several sheets of Stampin Up colored card stock for the layers. All cards are a white card base.   I think this is the perfect male card to send when you want to reach out to a friend.   Also I need to share why I use only SU card stock.  First off, I love to layer my cards and I don't want a white core to show on the cut edge.  Second, I want all of my scraps to match!  Black, blue, pink whatever.  I use as much of that scrap paper as I can and that is the reason I can get that many card from one paper pad.

For the MANLY challenge, I created this:

Make it Manly post featuring My Creative Time!

I'm making a manly birthday card today for

MY GRANDSON!  How can that be?  It seems like he has grown up

way too fast but he celebrated his 19th birthday a few days ago.

I made this cute donut birthday card for him (I don't care how old you are, you always love donuts).

With prices these days, he asked for a gas card so I added
that inside with the sentiment,
"I love you more than donuts".

I love this birthday set.  Appropriate for either men or women!

Happy Birthday Trent!

My Creative Time Make it Manly!

 My guy LOVES treats!

He is often the beneficiary of the treats I make for the Design Team

but I must say, I do like to make them girly with sparkles and jewels.

This time, I decided to make a manly treat!  LOL!

I didn't wrap my nuggets and I didn't use any sparkles.

I just let Emma's designs do the heavy lifting for me.

Nothing says "manly" like woodgrain paper!
I thought it turned out so cute and I know he will love his
little birthday gift.

Make it Manly! My Creative Time

I'm not sure about you but

masculine cards are sometimes a challenge for me.

If I get REAL, I honestly believe I overthink the entire process.

For my card today, I layered a white card front onto an A2

size base.  I kept the colors to a minimum and I didn't

add any gems!  I know!  It's a shock to the system.

However I did use my favorite bottle of Nuevo drops to add

just a little black.

Products used:

Sending Love Sentiments

Wonky Heart Dies

Circle Card Add-on dies

Definitely easy to duplicate without being so girly!
