A card for a Precious Baby Boy

Hello Everyone! I hope you are all well and having a good week so far. I have a little card to share with you today which I made a little while ago and forgot to blog. I made this card for my lovely Friend Luisa's gorgeous little baby Vinnie. I used Echo Park papers from an old pad and layered them onto kraft adding stitching around the edges.

The image I used is called Tiny Tot from Squigglefly and I coloured it with Promarkers. I used a sentiment from Pink Petticoat and die cut it into a banner shape and set it with an eyelet which I tied with twine. I finished with a bow topped with a button and some stick on pearls.
I hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

Gingham for Passion for Promarkers

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you are having a good week so far. I have two more baby cards to share with you today. The images I used on these cards are from Squigglefly and the sentiment is from Whiff of Joy.

I used Funky Hand papers and a ribbon from stash on this card along with a tiny flower from Crafty Emma's store.

This card also uses Funky Hand gingham and I used a button from The Funky Farm Scrapbook Barn. I am entering these cards into this week's Passion for Promarkers Challenge, the theme is to use gingham. I was very excited to see this morning that I had been picked as one of the top 5 Passionistas for last week with another baby card! Thank you ladies!

Blinkie - Top 5 Passionista

I had a lovely evening out crafting yesterday with my Friend Petra and new Friend Lucy who are both exceptionally talented crafters. We chatted, ate good food and I even managed to make good progress on a Commission I am working on! I hope you have a great Thursday!

Squigglefly Challenge - Let it snow!

It's Monday and time for a new Squigglefly Challenge. The theme this week is 'Let it Snow' so we want to see lots of snowflakes on your creations.

I chose to use my all time favourite Santa image. He is just so adorable, I have made so many cards using him as he is so quick to colour and looks great every time. This time, I used a simple layout with some stitching and embossing onto some red snowflake paper. I added Ribbon Girl twine and a little stamped tag to finish the card off and a little pom pom on Santa's hat.
I hope you will be able to join us for this Challenge. This is my last card as part of the Squigglefly DT as my 6 months on the team are coming to an end. I have had such fun playing with all the images and can't believe how quickly the time has gone!
Have a great Monday!

A Shaped card for Someone Special...

I have a shaped card to share with you today which I made yesterday for my kids to give my lovely Hubby for Christmas. I used a template from Making cards to make the Star Shaped card. It was really simple to make and I love the finished result.

I cut the base card from Gingham card which I bought from my local craft shop and decorated it with scraps of green and red papers.

The little Santa in the centre is from Squigglefly, the large letter stickers have been in my stash for ages and fitted the space perfectly. All the other bits and bobs have been lurking in my stash for ages so I was really glad to use them on this project.
I am entering this card into the Winter Wonderland Challenge which is to create a shaped card and also into the Moving Along with times Challenge which is to create a card for Someone Special, as my Hubby is :-)
Have a good Thursday! My kids are as they have a day off school because of the snow.

Squigglefly release day

It's Squigglefly release day and I have a card to share with you today which I made using a sentiment by Jess Holland.

I printed the sentiment and then cut it out into a tag shape with a Spellbinders die. I then layered it on to red card also cut into a tag shape. I covered the card base with green Papermania patterned paper and topped this with a red cardstock square which had been punched with a scallop punch along one edge. I added more patterned paper on top of this and sewed around the edges. I added the tag and embellished it with ribbons, buttons and gems and finished the card with a lovely little Santa which is available from Squigglefly here.

A celebration for the Squigglefly Challenge.

The theme for the Squigglefly Challenge this week is 'Celebration' and there is no better celebration than a Birthday .Two People who are very special to me are celebrating their Birthdays today...my dear Dad (I will share his card with you tomorrow...) and my good Friend Petra.
Petra is an immensely talented lady, she makes the most wonderful cakes, cards and altered projects. She is such an inspiration to me as she approaches every Project she undertakes with such dedication and a unbeatable sense of perfectionism which shows in everything she does.

I just had to make a card with a cake on to celebrate her Birthday and these images by Jane Beljo available here from Squigglefly were perfect! The backing paper I used is from the Funky Hand Colour me Happy CD, the sentiment is Hero Arts and the twine and button are from The Ribbon Girl.
I hope you will be able to join us for this Challenge, please check out the other DT cards on the blog for more inspiration!

Squigglefly release day - Skating Princess

I am a little late sharing the card I made with one of the new images that was released today at Squigglefly.
I have had a very busy morning making cards and doing a bit of preparation for my stall at a Christmas Fayre in November.

I made this card using Ice Skating Princess by Revi Devi Paat . This little ice skater is so sweet and perfect for girlie Christmas cards. I used some lovely October Afternoon papers to create a scene for the little ice skater and stiched around the edges with my sewing machine. I stamped a sentiment and then added some gorgeous ribbon and a button, both are from the Ribbon Girl. I have recently treated myself to lots of lovely goodies from this wonderful shop, make sure you drop by and take a look if you haven't discovered them yet!
Have a great Saturday!

Jane's Doodles new Poinsettia stamp and a giveaway.

Jane has new digi stamp available for you to buy here from Squigglefly. This lovely Poinsettia image is lovely and looks great layered up.
I made three flowers in different sizes to decorate the front of my card. All the papers used are BoBunny.

I added a touch of glitter to the centre of my flowers and then finished off with a couple of gems and some fabulous American Crafts letters.
Jane has cut down the size of her DT and this is my last Project as part of Jane's Doodles Design Team.
It has been lots of fun and I learnt a lot about digi stamps as using her designs was my first venture into digital crafting.
If you would like to win this image, please leave a comment on this post and I will draw the winner Sunday evening.

My DT card for Squigglefly Challenge #64 Manly-Man Birthdays

Happy Bank Holiday Monday! We have a new Squigglefly challenge for you today! This week's challenge is to make a MANLY-MAN birthday card.
I chose to use the fabulous 'You rock' digi set by Michelle Bertuzzi which is available here from Squigglefly.

I used papers from the DCWV Rock Star stack and heat embossed the guitar with glittery embossing powder. I used a Quickie Glue pen to add the embossing powder to the parts of the image I wanted to add the embossing powder to and then heat set it to get a fab metal effect. I added glitter to the stars on the sentiment which is also part of the set and then added glossy accents over the top.
The ribbon and charm are from my stash.
I hope you will be able to join us for this Challenge. Make sure you take a look at the Challenge blog for loads of wonderful inspiration from the DT.
Have a lovely Bank Holiday Monday!

Squigglefly Challenge DT card! Use Hot colours

It's time for a new Squigglefly Challenge. For my DT card this week I have used a cupcake image by the very talented Jane Beljo which is available here from Squigglefly.
For this week's theme we want to see Hot colours! Think reds, oranges, yellows...use one or all of them!

I went for it with my card and used all 3! The papers are all leftovers from other projects and were in my scraps box. To tie them in together I added some red stitiching through the layers.
I added a button as a cherry and tucked a little Hero Arts sentiment behind. The stripy ribbon is from my stash.

WOYWW - work in progress...

It's Wednesday again already! The weeks are flying by this year, it will be Christmas before we know it so it's lucky I made a Christmas card last night!

This was my desk when I finished working on a couple of Projects last night. I received 2 new release stamps from Squigglefly and I made one little Cupcake cutie into a quick shaped card and then I made a sample for Di's Digis website which will go in my basket as a start to making my family Christmas cards.
There is a new tin on my desk. I treated myself to a Cath Kidston buttons tin in the sale last weekend, I have the matching threads tin but refuse to buy them full price even though I LOVE anything Cath Kidston!
I hope you enjoy having a snoop around my desk. If you would like to see more desks and workspaces please pop over to Julia's blog for more and why not share a picture of yours too?
Have a great Wednesday and Jack says thanks for all his birthday wishes you sent him :-)

Beautiful Blooms for the Squigglefly Challenge

It's Monday and time for a new Squigglefly Challenge! The theme this week is Beautiful Blooms and you can interpret the theme any way you like. I decided to use the super sweet Hula Girl image by Jackie Mathews who has a lovely flower in her hair and flowers around the top of her grass skirt.

I used a Sizzix XL die to cut my card base and covered it with Bobunny Double dot in a zingy green. I added a flower shape cut from DCWV citrus stack paper. I coloured and cut out the Hula girl and added her to the front of the card with foam pads. I then added flowers to the bottom of the card to look like a flower necklace before stamping my Hero Arts sentiment. I added a few coordinating gems as a finishing touch.
I hope you will be able to join us for this Challenge, I love seeing all your Squigglefly cards!

Squigglefly release day and Christmas in July!

It's release day for Squigglefly today and you are going to love the new images this week! I had a play with some of the new images and also made my first Christmas card for this year.
The first image is Golfing Girl by Cheryl Alger. I created a little scene using My Mind's Eye cloud paper which I got from the Funky Farm Scrapbook Barn. I love cloud papers and this one has a lovely textured and the reverse side is a great green which is perfect for grass. I sewed around the edges of my cut out pieces to add definition and then coloured and cut out the image.

I used an Elzybells stamp which actually says tea-riffic and inked the words I needed leaving a space for some Prima letter stickers to spell out my sentiment. I added the image to the card with foam pads and the golf ball was stuck on with glue and I added glossy accents. As a finishing touch, I added a bow topped with a button and a small gem.
It does feel a bit early to be talking about Christmas already as I have not yet been on my Summer Holidays this year but I couldn't resist making a card with this adorable Rollie Ollie Santa by Mark Hicks which is also part of this week's release.

I made a very simple little card by matting and layering Basic Grey Christmas paper onto red card and stitching around the edges. I coloured the image with Promarkers and cut it out adding Flower soft to his beard and suit. I stamped a sentiment and cut it out with a Spellbinders tag and tied a charm to it with Bobunny double dot ribbon. Such a cute and quick card to make, I will be making many more of these in the months to come.
I hope you have a great Saturday and don't forget to check out all the new Squigglefly releases!
