My Mum's Craft Shop DT - Cool Britannia!!

Good Morning Everyone! It's my day for sharing my makes on the My Mum's Craft Shop blog  today with something a bit different again from me this week :-) Isn't it fun to try something new once in a while! Kitty recently received a delivery of the Cool Britannia Kanban collection and I couldn't resist having a play with some of the papers and sentiments to create a card and gift for my Father In Law.

I first made an easel card with a kraft card base and then added toppers and sentiments and lots of bits and bobs from my stash  to decorate the card.

I altered an acetate box we received with some office supplies to put a little gift or voucher in. I simply cut pieces of the Union Jack paper and sewed around the edges and stuck it to the box with double sided tape. I lined the box with kraft card to hide the messy tape.

I added a sentiment circle to which I added ribbon tails with Ribbon Girl Ribbons and a little button as a finishing touch with a couple of pearls. This range is fabulous for making Men's cards, perfect also for Father's Day! I am entering my card into this week's Papertake Weekly Challenge as the theme is 'True Colours' where you have to use your National Colours.
Have a lovely Thursday!

Happy 40th Birthday Tash!

Morning Everyone! I hope you are all well and having a good week. I am feeling a little under the weather this week and am looking forward to the weekend already! I have a card to share with you today which I made for my lovely Friend and Hairdresser Tash. I have known Tash since our boys went to Beavers together and now they are in the same tutor group at Secondary school. She is one of the funkiest ladies I know so I wanted to make her a really special 40th birthday card.

I had already decided that I wanted to to use bright pink on the card with lots of glitter so I was really thrilled when I found this pink tulle ribbon in my local Craft shop and the rest of the card grew from there. I die cut the letters from the pink glitter card using Sizzix dies and made the rest of my sentiment with a label maker.

I love this cute little The Greeting Farm image an had lots of fun colouring her in. This is the first time I have tried darker hair and I am really pleased with the results. The paper I used is by Kanban and I layered it up with pink and black card and added lots of stitching. I finished with gems and some small bright pink flowers from my stash. I hope you have a great Wednesday!
