Wren friends~

When sweet friends come to call~

Yesterday afternoon brought a little wren to our kitchen windowsill!

He is a bit early!

I'm sure he was just passing through~

Perhaps he was taking a quick trip to check on his summer house?

American Goldfinch & Peonies

"Peony Perch"

A new print available in my 2nd Etsy Shop

Reminds me of pink lemonade...

So many colors pair beautifully~ yellow and pink are soft & shabby chic!

In our gardens Goldfinch perch anywhere their little hearts choose to!

Some of our Peonies are sturdy and the Goldfinch perch on the buds...

Swaying back and forth when they land.

Wonder if they find the bouncing-sway to be a fun ride?

Our daughter brings bouquets of blossoms in all summer~

Her windowsill is line with creamers, jars, bottles & blossoms.

I thought her Peony arrangement would be sweet with two bright yellow friends!

From the studio...

Sweet little details...

Each month its own special start~

Red berries in winter...

Each topper relates to the monthly image...

There are letters in there somewhere!

My eyesight is not what it once was...

My handy-dandy helpers!

Along with reader glasses sitting just below my regular glasses!

Time for bifocals.

All twelve months are completed...

I have stopped word plays on favorite songs for now~

( I think the family misses my constant humming... don't you?)

Enjoyed summer-like weather yesterday & expected for part of today.

Studio windows were open & I think our feathered friends

overheard the stormy weather predictions!

They are in feeding frenzies...

Leaves are piling up...

Laundry is ready for the line...

Deadlines will have to be patient for a few hours~

Calendar toppers & Mary Poppins...

When I'm painting my calendar toppers...

(the narrow strips on the date page that announce each month)

I keep singing the same song over and over~

"Feed the birds...

It is a bird theme calendar...

They are toppers...

I LOVE Mary Poppins!

I think she runs through my blood along with watercolor pigments.

I've been collecting treasures for my 2015 calendar!

Baskets of goodies... still life subjects set up for photographs...

Feathered friends have been happy to pose on the feeders and baths~

This summer has filled me up...

Restored my creative juices!

I miss talking to my mom each morning~ it has almost been one year.

Her four year battle with breast cancer was courageous.

I was blessed to be a caregiver... I was tired. I was empty.

I have started keeping a sketchbook while working in my gardens.

Wrinkled, muddy, messy pages... a fun look!

Drawn in pencil because pens junk up in the dirt spots...

Ideas come...

Sketches capture the thoughts and I work on them when it rains.

A little peek at my new calendar!

Artist samples arrived last week and local shops

have started selling them already!

I have not purchased any of these to offer for resale...

...I hope to in the years to come.

Most of our friends and family purchase them from

shops that carry Legacy products or Ebay.

I have my 2014 designs all sketched and ready to paint...

Little feathered friends at our feeders have been

holding on tight with these hurricane edge winds!

We're praying for all that are affected by Irene.
