Punch Needle Dutch Tulip Hop

Baby bunnies are beginning to leave their cozy nests &
tulips are bursting open~
How I love May!

We have enjoyed a few warm & sunny days.
Nice to open the windows and let fresh air swirl through!

Hope you have a wonderful week~

"Rabbit & Chickadee Go Gathering" copyright 2019 Michelle L. Palmer

Chickadee has found the perfect assistant!
Rabbit will deliver her sweet treat to the base of the tree
where her nestlings await dessert!
Perhaps Mr. Chickadee will bring home a dollop of whipped cream.

Rabbit will rest in the shade and enjoy his snack before heading home
with a pussy willow bouquet for his family.

Our pussy willows have started to open!
Little fuzzy buds trying to break through their winter shells...
Nice to see hints of Springtime.
We have a few sprigs tucked in a jar with water.
They will be fully open by the end of the week~

Hope your March days have been a little more sunny...
A touch warmer and filled with happiness, Friends~

Snowmen Meadow quilting fabric

'Snowmen Meadow' copyright Michelle L. Palmer/ P&B Textiles

Snowmen in the meadow...
After a three hour drive to my moms house our children
were ready to run off some energy!
They didn't want a snack.
They didn't want to sit.
They didn't want television.
They were not interested in books.
The toys would wait...
They wanted outside!
Bundled up~ they would slide down Gramma's little hill.
Mom would pull the scooters out and the three of them would attempt to
ride them up & down her driveway. She told the kids they had snow tires!
Mom always had snow. (Except for the dash through summer & fall)
Her snow always seemed to be perfect for snowman making!
Our children will always have those treasured memories and
I will always be drawn to snowmen.

Squares for quilts, Christmas stockings, tote bags, table runners & place mats!
Stitched with simple trims around the border they would
make fun ornaments to hang on a cupboard knob...
Wouldn't they be fun around the bottom of a Christmas tree skirt?!
Unique pocket designs!
Small pillows stuffed with balsam! Mmmmmmm~
Stitched to the tops of pre-purchased pillows~
There must be more things we could make!

The collection is promised to arrive any day now!
I'm so happy with how the pen & ink illustrations translated to fabric~

Part of the panel and border design~ these are in full color!
The border would be fun as a Christmas tree skirt, too...

More of the panel images~

We're not rushing winter winds~
These warm August days are always my favorite!

Just had to share a peek of what's arriving in shops soon~
Please let me know if you see it in your favorite store!

Hope you have a nice week, Friends!

Valentine Color Cards

I have my Valentine greetings back from the printer!
Added a touch of color with colored pencils to those I will mail to friends~
I will cut the edges with some fancy scissors and tack them to a pretty card stock.

I love to share cards and letters~
A little something in the post box for friends who live alone...
Share a hug with a heart that is hurting.
...and I LOVE to send Valentines!

This year I will send one of my hand-colored Valentines and
include a black and white Valentine for them to color~

Winter storms are brewing across the Plains, Midwest and Northeast...
Hope you all stay safe & warm, Friends!

Have a wonderful week!

love,
laughter,
and wonderful new memories~
(and a little bit of relaxation, too)

Thank you for your friendship~
Wishing your heart every happiness!

Punch Needle Pattern Spring Bonnet Bunny

'Spring Bonnet Bunny' Copyright 2017 Michelle L. Palmer

My little bunny friend has joy in her heart and a hop in her step!

We have been getting a good amount of rain~
It is slowly washing our snow pack away!
Spring is truly coming...
The flower gardens will be warming up this week!

Daffodils were peeking through too early~
It was good to have a few feet of snow protecting them and
slowing them down a bit.
Now we're ready!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Friends!
Thank you for stopping by~

Pinkeeps & Pincushions...

Long and narrow...
Square...
Purse size and desk size...
A new collection of pinkeeps and pincushions are coming along!

I made a collection of these for my Annual Christmas Open House 1994!
Sold in country shops before that~
We celebrated nine Christmas open houses.
I wish I had digital files or short videos to post.
History is a treasure.
The shows came before we (personally) had the ease of digital cameras.
I will scan some of my photographs and share near Christmastime.
We met the most amazing people through art festivals, retreats,
Workshops, shows & art guilds etc.
Our open house was a weekend for reunions!

I loved to design the invitations & handmade 500+ free gifts.
(Oh how they changed through the years!)
A new giveaway each year & when the gifts ran out I would have hand drawn,
printed, recipe cards to tuck inside their packages.

When I began art licensing, nearly 15 years ago, it was difficult for me to
keep up with all of the deadlines and handmade works for shows~
It was hard to say goodbye to our open house but new opportunities
kept my artwork fresh and new styles & products emerged.
Fabric collections, flags, greeting cards & calendars etc. added to handmade.

I am grateful to have a healthy balance between the two now.
The joy of having my original watercolor paintings and pen & ink works
licensed alongside handmade, one-of-a-kind treasures.

I hope to eventually offer rug hooking patterns to accompany my
punch needle patterns & embroidery designs.
Several new creative projects will be ready to share soon~

We have been researching shows and events from MA to VA!
Our daughter is an amazing artist & designer... she is ready to soar!
Never know where life will bring you~

Stay true to yourself & find your own unique style.
It will tell the story of your life~

Wedding in the meadow

Snippets from Meadow Wedding~
Sweet little Rosie Emm with her handsome groom and dear maidens.
Springtime brings the most beautiful blush-pink flowers to the meadow.
They gathered a basket of blossoms for bouquets and head wreaths~
Tucked a sprig in Jameston's coat & called upon the sparrows to sing!
(Copyright Meadow Wedding 1997 Michelle L. Palmer)

When I watch West Side Story my little friends end up planning
another wedding. My husbands sister sang One Hand, One Heart
for our vows... it will always be one of my favorites.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend, Friends!

Bunny in the carrot patch!

My little bunny friend has hopped on by to wish you a wonderful weekend!
Discovered a small cut of marbleized fabric...
...the perfect color for a patch of carrots!

Fabric Illustration Bunny & Sparrow~

Friday huddle?
Hope your day is off to a great start, Sweet Friends!

No matter where our feathered friends perch~
They bring our hearts joy!
Chickadees are dancing on the feeder...
Juncos and Mourning Doves are cleaning up the ground &
Cardinals, Titmouse and Woodpeckers swoop in for a nibble!

The sun is peeking through after our snow storm overnight~
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Punch needle Carrot Patch Rabbit and Lilac~

"Carrot Patch Rabbit" copyright 2016 Michelle L. Palmer

Hope your week has been going great, Friends!
I've been having working on a punch needle botanical collection.
Lilac is the first pattern I wrote from my designs.
Twenty different flowers~ I am itching to garden!
Bunnies seem to be hopping around the studio... the kitchen table...
In hoops, on linens...

"Lilac" copyright 2016 Michelle L. Palmer

Some of these storms have been fierce~
Keeping all of you tight in prayer...

Crow with the button jar!

I have misplaced a jar of tiny buttons.
They are in this studio somewhere~

If you happen to see a crow flying by with my button jar...

Hope your day is filled with creative, Sweet Friends!

Little loves~

Little hearts that bring us joy~

Helping us to be our best~

Each with our own special gift~

Heart to heart~

The strawberries are so very sweet!
I just know the mice are enjoying their snacks~

Wishing you a wonderful evening, Sweet Friends!

Sunday, May 24

Blue and Yellow...

Found this beautiful fold of vintage yellow fabric~
Not a stain to be seen...
I put it in a light soak for a few hours.

I would agitate it now & again...
When wet it is the color of a lemon!

It has a linen-like feel...

Couldn't wait to get it off the line & pressed~

I had to try blue ink...
Yellow & blue always look sweet together~
Reminds me of a two tone toile fabric!

Red looks sweet, too!

Hope you're having a sweet and sunny Sunday!
