Patriotic Teddy Bear punch needle

This was my first chance to design a punch needle project on

coffee toned weavers cloth.

It did help me to choose a more folk/primitive palette!

I frame most of my punch needle pieces.

The darker weavers cloth will look so pretty as the border~

I keep talking to this little guy in hopes that he will answer me~

'What color for your background, Little Friend?'

Our pup sits tilting his head...

(Confident that he is more deserving of my conversation & attention!)

I will toss some tennis balls with our main furry pal for now.

My little bear friend will have to think on his perfect background~

Teddy and Honey Bee~

From time to time I open one of my sketchbooks that has

sat untouched for too long.

I glance through the pages and find something new~

As though it wasn't my hand, my heart, that put it there!

Other times a small design sketch will remind me of a collection 

that was manufactured into a gift program!

My most favorite pages are those with notes & drawings

tucked into corners or margins by one of our children.

Their childhood was filled with art festivals, 

Christmas open houses, art shows and sales.

There was always a sketchbook open...

Always a mound of them stacked within their reach and

they were free to look through them.

Their little masterpieces are my most treasured entries!

Tea with honey~

"Did you say honey?"

Tea and honey have helped my cough...

Fever and the flu hit me Christmas Eve.

Hearing about so many of you coming down with horrible chest colds & the flu~

Take care & add honey.

Has been nearly two weeks~ finally starting to get some energy back.

Darning socks...

Many hands make light work!

Teddy love is going to help me darn socks...

When I was little I was given a 'pretty pair of knee highs'~

Cozy & well loved!

They always had holes in them!

With grandma's wooden sock darner &

colorful threads from my moms sewing box... I would add patches.

I cut tags out of my shirts & used them for the patches~

This little love is ready for the ball~

Ever feel like someone is watching you?

Bunny looks as if he has a hand-puppet!

Hope it is warming up where you are~

The numbers are rising!

Thirty degrees will feel like a heatwave!

I went to a Valentine's 'gathering' when I was little... a faint memory.

All generations were there, mingling. Visiting. Laughing.

I remember that it was loud~ until a slow dance played softly.

Watching couples dance cheek to cheek...

Their faces touched...

Their hearts were connected.

Vintage Teddy Bears...

Teddy friends have been a favorite to paint since I was in college.

They sit in the studio alongside my needle felts and

line our mantel at Christmastime. 

They are good sports, willing to sit & pose for various photo references...

Kind enough to wear a pin that I have made~

Content to display a bunting of my pen & inks!

These two prints are made from my original watercolors.

They are sweet baby shower gifts~ 

I always try to purchase receiving blankets from the shower registry.

I place the print inside a shirt box, protect it with tissue paper &

Wrap the box with the receiving blanket!

Sweet & unique~

Teddy bear charms...

Just finished making a small collection of teddy bear charms~

Ladybug theme!

Our White Spirea is covered in Aphids so Ladybugs are on my mind...

A village of Ladybugs would be wonderful!

These little charms take on a different style & feel depending on 

the chain/string/rope that runs through them!
