Becoming a Teenager....Happy Birthday!

Hi everyone. What can I say my laptop had to be repaired
again! Not that long ago it had to be restored to
factory settings and this time it was my external hard drive
software causing the problem. Luckily it got fixed!
If there is anyone with a crystal ball let me know
I would love to know all my laptop disasters in advance.

I've also noticed that I have some new followers
and would like to thank everyone who follows me
and leaves a lovely comment.

I used Polka Doodles "Sugar Birdies" cd-rom for the backing paper,
gingham paper and images of 2 owls. The image of the boy
comes from "Pretty Tuff"cd-rom by PD again". The image of the little
monster with balloon was a free download from "Bugaboo Stamps"
and I used promarkers to colour it. The whole scene with the clouds
I created in my graphics program. As usual I needed more embellies
so I decided to create the stars in my graphics program too and
decorate it with stitching which goes well with the stitching
in the backing paper.  I do not have a luxury of a working
sewing machine any more but I like the way the stitches
turned out just with being printed.
I also used embossing powder for the stars to make
them look shiny but I do not think camera picked it up.

I also used silver mirri card, outline stickers and Anita's Glitterations
stickers which you can see all over my card. The letters LX where
white stickers and I used promarkers to recolour it.
From my stash - metal corner, ribbons, black gemstone, foam pads
pinflair glue gel and metal buttons

Birthday Card (James)

I used acetate for the base of my card ~
~(Not bad to work with but quite tricky to
photograph)~
Metal wire mesh is from my garage ( I knew it
would come handy one day for something! )
I found it in a roll and had quite a hard time
flattening it out.
The numbers 1 and 5 are digital images.
I used word processor to make
everything you can see with words on.

I also needed more embellishments
so I made decorative pegs with the help of mini
star punch and sparkly star gems.  I also used
the negatives after I punched out my black stars and
free hand cut the bigger stars out of it and placed
3 of them on the number 5. I also added one metal
button which is from one of my old shirts (very handy),
metal corner, couple punched out stars and finished
off with black gemstones.
