Christmas Through the Window

"Through The Window" is the theme of the last challenge at  "polkadoodle" for this year. I still needed to create something for 2 individuals in my life and this window creation is one of them.

Close up

This one is before I put curtains on

The picture bellow is what is behind the window.
(I used digi images to create the scene)
This way it can be seen more clearly.

To make my Christmas window I used a template from MCS and used digital images to decorate the template.
digital images are from - Polka Doodles cd roms ( Jingle Jangle Christmas and Magical Winter part one)
other digital images:
sleigh and blue backing paper - digikit "forest sleigh rides" Agnesingap Designs
Christmas tree, branch, ribbon and poinsettia  - digikit "Christmas Fancies" design by Mediterranka
the Moon - digikit by Pliscrap
the hanging ornament - digikit "Christmas Punch Add On" by Sweet Digiscraps Designs
red dotty backing paper - digikit "First snowfall minikit" by Wishing Well Creations

Quick Christmas Card.....

....is the theme this week at polkadoodle challenge blog so I decided to have a go.

To make this card I used Polka Doodles cd rom "Magical Winter part one" - for the digi-image of the girl, fence with the sign and the birdie. I did not do any colouring with promarkers this time. These images already come beautifully coloured but there is also a choice of plain digi-stamps on the cd rom and you can colour with mediums of your choice yourself if you feel like it.. The sentiment "Snowflakes are Winter's Kisses" are from another Polka Doodles cd rom called "Jingle Jangle Christmas". I created the personalised bauble in MS Word.
The red backing paper with snowflakes  was a leftover which I used to wrap a mini present last week. This backing paper is from digi-kit called "First Snow Fall" from Wishing Well Creations. The black dotty paper was another left over from the time when I made a card with owls. And the the black layer of paper for matting and layering was another used leftover.  And the punch I used is called "Leafy Lace".

Hello Darling!...

...... All your Christmases have come at once !!

The inspiration for this card came from the picture lower down which  is an inspirational picture for one of "Sassy Studio Designs" monthly challenges. For that challenge you have to use one of their digi-images to enter.  I have this beautiful "SDS" image called "Steampunk Josephine" which was a fantastic freebie and decided to make my husband's Christmas card with it.

                                   Inspired by this
                                         picture

Elements used:
For the base of the card I used white card and punched around with lace trim punch. Then I glittered the edges with black glitter. For the next layer I used my husband's favourite, which is a silver mirror card. The next red layer is a thin paper colored around the edges with a red promarker. The next layer up with the circles  is a backing paper which is from "sweetdigiscraps" which I recoloured. I also added a few other elements to this backing paper from a freebie download by "creationsbyrachaelb" -(Holiday Cheer)"which is the part of my left side of the card (the light paper with red and green) and I also used the same download to create the circles behind my images. The other add on to make this backing paper I created the red stripes and put part of the recolored backing paper over it. When I printed the backing paper out I was not happy with the colour red because none of my promarkers in red came even close to it and I like it matching, so I recolored every red bit of the backing paper with a red promarker. The "Steampunk Josephine" image was printed out and colored with promarkers. The group of digi-presents are from a download from "paperdreamsofmine".They come plain and I added some doodles with a black pen and colored with promarkers. The sentiment is from  "whenthescraphitsthefun". The snowflakes at the bottom of the sentiment and underneath the roses (the second layer) are a part of a digi-image from "scribblesbysandy" which I printed out and cut out. The layer underneath the roses is from a silhoutte punch 3.8 cm by xcut I used silver mirror card again. The roses and metal corners are from "wild orchid crafts". Ribbons, big gemstones and mini gemstones are from my stash.

Magical Time of the Year

                                                                                  *

Elements used:
I created the scene using digital images from - Polka Doodles cd roms (Magical Winter part one and part two) and green-white backing paper from Sunday of Seasons cd rom.

The bottom layer is a heavy burgundy card. The next layer is a thin paper which I coloured with a promarker to fit my color scheme. The green-white layer is a paper printed out from a cd rom and I placed metal corners on that layer. The main picture scene I created in MS Word from separate images from 2 cd roms. I loved all the images so much and could not settle only on one or two that is why I created the whole scene. Once I was happy how the scene looked I printed this scene on a photo paper 5 times in the same size. Then cut out all 5 pieces around the edges but to achieve the step layered look I had to take each individual piece turn it face down  and  measure it from the edge inwards and apply the same measurement to all 4 sides by that  I formed a rectangle inside my piece and I cut it out with a craft knife. I kept the outside bit of each piece and got rid off the middle bits I cut out. With the second, third and fourth piece I increased the measurement from the edges so that way I could achieve the stepped layered look. The bottom layer of the picture is the only layer that does not need cutting. I used mini double sided sticky pads to stick all the layers together. It gave it a bit of a height and made the stepped look pop. To frame the assembled layers I used my burgundy card and cut a rectangle out of the card which was about 1.5 cm larger in size on each side than the top layer of the layered picture and then again I went from the edge inwards to cut it out with a craft knife. I was left with a frame and applied brown promarker to darken the frame a bit. I positioned double sided tape around the edges of the frame and applied glitter (jade). Then I glued the frame on the top of the layered picture and it framed it nicely. Then the whole structure was glued to my base with a glue gel. I added red roses, metal corners and punched out  butterflies which I layered and I used tonic punches to make the green mini flowers in the middle of the butterflies.

This is my favourite Christmas decoration entry !

I absolutely adore my Christmas stocking. I bought it about 10 years ago. It was my first Christmas decoration bought as a married woman, that year we did not even have a Christmas tree because we just moved our house and there was no time to put any decorations up because we were unpacking all the stuff and settling down in our new house where we are still to this day and my adorable stocking is still with us every Christmas.

Christmas/deer

Let It Snow

The background paper with the Moon and the snowy scene is from a digikit, I took it in MS WORD and added digi snowflakes to it to make it more snowy and I also added the “Merry Christmas” words which are from another digikit and that tree you see on its own . I printed it out twice  with one layer smaller so it could sit on the top of it. Then I used another digi-kit for the grouped trees, they come separate. I grouped them together and printed and cut them out. To make them shiny I used clear embossing powder on them.
I also glittered one of the grouped trees with crystal glitter. Then I used another digikit for my cute little deer. I printed and cut him out and used clear embossing powder to make him shiny as well. I also used another glitter colour (jade) and outlined the tree with it which is on its own next to the little deer. Then I used tons of jade glitter around the edges of each layer. To make the glitter stick I used double sided tape. I also used a layer of black thin paper between the pink background paper and the glittered edge.  My punched snowflakes with  gemstones and Merry Christmas sticker finished of the card.

Too cool for Christmas....NOT!

Card for a Teenager!

Elements I used:
The digi-stamp of the boy called "Casper too cool for Christmas" is a free download from "Pollycraft" . (Thank you) which I coloured with promarkers. The background is another freebie from by "scribblesbysandy" and I distressed it with Tim Holtz's  "shabby shutters" distress ink. The little ticket above Casper's head is from whenthescraphitsthefun and so is the circle sentiment at the top middle. The circle sentiment lower left is  from "scrappyfairy". I used Tonic punches to make the snowflakes where I put a gem in the middle and glittered. The rest of the snowflakes I made myself using the background as an inspiration and glittered. The baubles hanging on my handmade glittered snowflake were also handmade by myself but I have no idea where I downloaded the digi-stamps of the baubles from but full credit for the  to the artist. I colored them with promakers and glittered. I used metal wire and wrapped it around one of my glue bottles to achieve a circle shape for hanging my baubles. For the base of the card I used a "lace trim" punch. Ribbons are from my stash.

Christmas/Winter/Kids/Sparkle card

Before I started making  this Christmas card I wish I'd thought of something easier and not something that involves a craft knife and glittering with 6 different glitter colours but I am very happy how it turned out. I picked digi- images from my freebie downloads and from Polka Doodles cd roms "Sunday of Seasons" (the trees)  and the little cutie owl is from "Jingle Jangle" cd rom. I created the JOY word with stars attached to it using MS WORD. The sentiment was a free downlad from "whenthescrapshitthefun". Glitter colours used - [jade, dark green, copper, crimson, turquoise, and diamond sparkles(angel whispers)]

  This is my card.

Below are  close ups of my glittering.

Halloween

Halloween is just around the corner and for this occasion I decided to make my first Halloween card. I did not make it too scary, imagine scaring some poor little soul! It also reminds me to buy lots of  sweets for the special day and  some for myself of course. My day would not be complete without it.

To make this Halloween card come together I used digi-freebies  downloaded from various blogs (creepiecutestamps,bearywishes,madiscraps,leighspapercreationdigitalstamps,stampersbest,karenlewisdesignz.com,scrapbookalphabet) and there is also another digi-stamp but I can not rememeber where I downloaded it from, full credit to all talented artists.

Polka Doodles: Week 40 Challenge - Handmade Flowers & Blog Candy!

For this challenge I decided to use another Polka Doodles cd-rom "Back to Nature" and have my first go at making flowers of some kind.

Below is the card I am entering for:

http://polkadoodle.blogspot.com/

I am also entering this card into following challenges:

Challenge 77 -ANIMALS http://robynsfetishchallengeblog.blogspot.com/ #
Free and Easy -http://cutedaisymay.blogspot.com/ #

To create the flowers I used Tonic mini paper punch "flower head" and the larger one is from Tonic "Petal Pairs". After I punched out a shape ( light cardstock ) I lifted the petals up and shaped them the way I found appealing to my eye. I used glue gel to glue 3 layers together. Glue gel seems to give flowers even more strength. Mini flowers are really tiny and very fiddly to make but well worth it. Mini flowers fit nicely into larger ones.

In the making of this A5 card were also involved:

As I mentioned above I used "Back to Nature" cd rom. I printed out the owls and decoupaged them. Adorable, aren't they? I also printed out the tree branches with leaves and flowers in the top left corner and cut everything out with scissors. The black dotty paper is from "Sundae of Seasons" cd-rom but I had to recolour it because it was not available in black. I also embossed it with clear embossing powder to give it a shine. I also made a use of heart mini punch, lace trim border punch and "Tonic Boot Punch Regular - Crossing Hearts". The swirl is from "Anita's Glitterations Stickers". The gold layer is lightly brushed self adhesive sheet. Gems are from "Papermania". The card was finished with my handmade flowers.
