Arviointi: Omalla tavallaan tämä oli parempi kuin ensimmäinen osa. Omalla tavallaan tämä oli huonompi. Hyvää oli se, että niistä kliseisistä letkautuksista oli luovuttu. Huonoa taas se, että nyt Alaynasta oli tehty niin ärsyttävä, että en kestä. Jos ensimmäisessä osassa hän oli ymmärtäväinen ja näin, mutta nyt siitä hahmosta ei ollut mitään jäljellä.

”He cut me off. “It’s not. But I need you to know that I’m trying and I’m not going to stop trying until I get there. Do you hear me? Don’t give up on me.” He was vehement, his expression frantic.

“I’m not giving up on you.” I reached my palm up to caress his face and he leaned into my touch. “Why would I do that? I love you, Hudson. So much.””

     Jos omassa elämässäni olisi tällainen kohtaus, niin minä kyllä toimisin sen jälkeen niin miten olen luvannut. Ymmärrän kyllä, että Alaynalla on ollut vaikeaa ja hän on käynyt terapiassa ja blaa blaa blaa, mutta nyt tarvitaan kyllä hieman uskoa ja luottamusta peliin.

Arviointi: Apuva. Mitä tästä pitäisi sitten oikein sanoa? Ensimmäisen lukukerran jälkeen olin antanut tälle kirjalle neljä (4) tähteä, mutta nyt kun selailin tämän nopeasti läpi niin,, mitä ihmettä olen oikein miettinyt??

     Tämä teos vain nyt sattui sisältämään kaikki kliseisimmät letkautukset ja kohtaukset yms. yms…

”I couldn’t look away, his appearance magnetizing. Which meant he was exactly the type of man I should avoid.”

     Kaikissa kyseisen genren kirjoissa tyttö ajattelee/sanoo näin heti kun hän tapaa ah, niin ihanan ja kuuman miehen. En tiedä vaikuttiko nyt tämä minun toinen lukukertani kovinkin paljon negatiivisemmin ajatusmaailmaani tätä kirjaa kohtaan, mutta eikö sekin kerro jotain? Hyvä kirja on sellainen, jonka voi lukea vaikka kuinka monesti ilman, että ärsyyntyy ja takertuu tuollaisiin pikkuisiin yksityiskohtiin. Kohtiin, jotka eivät ensimmäisellä kerralla ole vaikuttaneet niin paljoa.

”We were both vulnerable now. Two damaged souls spilling our brokenness in a private therapy session. Was this what he had wanted between us? Sharing like this, without judgment, without shame? It was…nice.”

     Annan tälle kirjalle nyt ne neljä tähteä jotka keväällä olin ajatellut sopiviksi. Nyt, miinustaisin kyllä mieluusti yhden pois.
