on-the-go-go Xmas

there's no chance i will have this absolutely finished soon. so i must just show you now. it's the next Le Petit project. i will hand quilt with Perle cotton and bind with wavy edges. except i don't even have a wavy ruler. it's a Moda Bake Shop recipe. but smaller like Sherri is making. the prairie points are these selvedges. and although the original layout is perfect. i altered it to resemble a regular tree.late again delivering the bags. but done is done.and speaking of done. i managed to make 10 of these. that would be finished and wrapped. thank you very much.i'm laughing right now. because my plan to keep-it-simple was accomplished. although even simple things can get get ugly if done late. meaning most of this could have leisurely been done in September. hehe. i also managed to put together 10 of these.i live in an old building with a beautiful lobby. somewhere in draft i have a post on this. any-who!! our lobby got a new Xmas tree this year so i made a simple tree skirt. i've never made one before. so it was definitely a quick-and-dirty-version but all that was needed.we might get snow in a few days. but for most of this month and tonight i am happy that the roads are dry. Merry-Xmas-Eve to everyone!

Nevermind

on the 13th i delivered the second part of my paper bag advent to Mom.her birthday was on the 17th. so included was a note saying a gift too big to fit in little bag was hidden in her closet. nevermind that it was last year's xmas present. but yeah! i finished her blankie-quilt.the advents were fun. so i would like to do again next year. taking a break tomorrow a.m. to make cookies at my sister's house. can you believe she told me not to make a mess. then back home to zig-zag the binding on a few more blankie-quilts.

Pocket and Paper

i really like the look of the stitched numbers.Jessica and i were exhausted. but the pocket advents were finished just in time for December 1st. one for Jessica's house. and one for my sister's house.1/2 yard cuts from Quilt Taffy. 1/2 yard cuts and a panel from Fabrics By The Sea. white Kona cotton on front. and premium Kona muslin on back. and thanks to QT for mixing the brown polka dot with the Have A Sheri Berry Holiday prints. it inspired the brown stitching for the numbers. and OMG. did i actually machine quilt something. i stuck to my comfort zone which is zig-zag. hated it. but will try to do more of it in the future.

my Mom's paper bag advent was finished on December 2nd.she has already asked if she is getting a strawberry candy in each bag.here's a peek. i have another week to fill bags for day 13 thru day 25.

it's coming....

take a peek at this advent i am making with Jessica. 2 of them have to be ready done and filled with goodies for Dec. 1st. we're making more than 2. the fabric is called Have a Sheri Berry Holiday. and in lieu of applique. we are stitching the outline of #'s with Perle Coton No. 5.the paper bag advent i am making for Mom. there's no link. i just made it up. my coffee shop kindly let me have bags early. so i could decorate. i could probably put 1 biscotti in each bag. but i will mix it up with some other stuff. the local pharmacy has that section where they sell small samples. of course i'll only get the things that Mom would like.would you believe that even the local scrapbooking store doesn't have stickers just for advents calendars. but for $2./hr. you can use their cutter and make whatever you want. so i quickly grabbed pretty paper and went to it. i needed 2 pages. since it was not sticky paper i had to glue them on.and i am excited about the fabrics i gathered for Carolina Christmas. in lieu of gold i am using a brown Jo Morton just picked up at the annual sale. the rest are stash favorites.
