Workshop on the Go {Spellbound}

With the Autumn/Winter 2012 Idea Book, Close To My Heart gave us a couple of "home decor" workshops as well as the card-making and scrapbooking workshops.  I have to say that I absolutely LOVE all of them, but I think that Spellbound is my favorite!

This fun and fabulous Halloween party workshop is designed to allow you to create a complete Halloween party for 8 people! You'll receive the papers, accessories, and instructions to create the following:
  • 8 Treat Bags
  • 8 Cupcake Liners
  • 8 Cupcake Picks
  • 8 Drink Wraps for pop/juice/Gatorade/beer bottles
  • 1 Banner (5pc) for decorating
The Spellbound Workshop on the Go Kit is designed to be a Cricut kit, used in conjunction with our brand new Artiste cartridge! Everything (except for the little bats on the cupcake picks) is cut using the Artiste cartridge!

Here's what you get in the kit:

1 – My Reflections® Spellbound Paper Packet (18 sheets, Exclusive to Kit)
1 – My Acrylix® Spellbound Cricut® Workshop Stamp Set (C-size)
1 – Sunset Baker’s Twine (10 yards)
1 – Foundry® Pin Clips (Z1612)
6 – Jump Rings (not shown)
1 – Instructional Brochure
Retail Value $36.79
Your cost - $32.95 ($39.00 including shipping/tax)

Now, while I do LOVE this workshop, I know I won't be hosting a Halloween party.  So, I've made a few adjustments and come up with a few different options for you.  Do you have kid(s) in elementary school that still do the fall/Halloween parties? Would you like have your treats for Halloween packaged up in a cute bag?

Using the same kit and instructions, you can create the following:

30 Regular or Mini Cupcake Liners & Picks
You will need 2 additional packages of Foundry Pin Clips.
(Please excuse my styrofoam cupcakes.)

OR

30 Treat Bags
(The treat bags shown in the first photo end up too small, so I've changed the bags.
You can choose from the square box, handled bag, or the pillow box for your 30 boxes.
All 30 boxes will be the same style.)
OR

30 Drink Wraps and the Banner (shown above, slightly modified)
(The wraps can be sized to fit any bottle under 5 inches in diameter.)

I am also offering a Paper Only Kit for those that do not wish to get the stamp set, or perhaps don't like the Spellbound papers.  The Paper Only Kit will feature the Moonlight Paper Packet, plus additional cardstock required to complete the projects.

Moonlight Paper Packet
6 additional sheets of Cardstock
Typed Instructions
(Instructional Brochure is not available separately)
Your Cost: $16.00  (includes shipping/tax)

I've also put together a couple of add-on options if you'd like the Moonlight Kit.
*Please note that the jump rings and instructional brochure are not available separately.

Additional Products Required

If you are local, our workshop is scheduled for Sunday, October 14, 2012, at 1pm ET.  Please RSVP with your kit selection and prepay by October 1st.  Please allow at least 5 hours for this workshop if you plan on cutting your own at the workshop (you will need to bring your Cricut machine). CTMH *New* Product Blog Hop: La Belle Vie and Bonjour

It is one of the most exciting times of the year for Close To My Heart consultants and customers alike! August 1st brought us the NEW Autumn/Winter 2012 Idea Book (link will open in a new window so you won't lose your spot in the hop) full of NEW ideas and fabulous products!

If you've come from {Julia's Blog}, you're on the right path. We have over 50 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using some of our favorite NEW Autumn/Winter CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

I took a bunch of projects with me to our team meeting in Michigan this weekend, but only managed to get ONE completed (and that was last night back in my hotel room). I should have known better as I only go up once every year or so now, that I would spend more time visiting with great friends than creating.  I didn't even finish the fabulous projects that were taught at the meeting. Looks like tomorrow is going to be a creative day :)

I am working on a new display board for my gatherings (parties) this fall.  Basically, pick a date, then pick the make & take project you would like you and your guests to complete. I know I showed pictures earlier, but I think it's much better to have the actual projects to oooooh and aaaaaah over ;)  Here's one of the projects I'll be offering.

La Belle Vie Cricut Gift Box
Using the NEW Cricut Artiste Cartridge (link will open in a new window), I created this cute little box out of the new La Belle Vie papers.
Pink B&T top and bottom: 1" Card [MtherDay] (cut 2)
Pink B&T top box: 1" 3D Object [MtherDay]
Pink B&T bottom box: 1" Shift+3D Object [Mom]
Black B&T plaque: 1 1/2" Shift+Accent 3 [B]
Colonial White Cardstock plaque: 1 1/4" Shift+Accent 3 [B]
Black B&T accent strip: 3/8" x 11"

When cutting Cricut Artiste shapes that are the same color on the same key in the Artiste booklet, the finished size is indicated in red text next to the shape on the Artiste booklet page. In this instance, you’ll see on page 74 that the box should be cut at 1", meaning that the finished box will be 1" tall. All color-coordinating pieces on that key should be cut at the 1" size and will cut in proper proportion. You can adjust the size of the finished project, just remember to adjust the size of all the pieces :)

I assembled the box using Liquid Glass (for durability) according to the directions in the Assembly Instructions Booklet. Yes, our new Artiste Cartridge comes with an Assembly Instruction Booklet to show you how the projects go together. How cool is that?!

I used the new Bonjour My Acrylix Stamp Set to stamp the Colonial White plaque. Then, I used the water brush and Blush ink to color in the flourish.  I used 3D Foam Tape to adhere that plaque to the center of the Black B&T plaque for dimension.

I added a bit of the new Black Tulle Ribbon to the top of the box after fiddling with it to get it how I wanted. I used a glue dot to get it started, then added a small blob of Liquid Glass to the center, then added the plaques.  I set the box lid on a couple of My Acrylix Blocks to reinforce the lid, then put another block on top of the plaques to let the Liquid Glass set and dry.  I finished of the box with a Pearl Badge Button from the Wrangler Assortment.

Supplies
(links will open in a new window so you won't lose your spot in the hop)
Stamps: Bonjour
Inks: Black and Blush
Accessories: Black Tulle Ribbon, Wrangler Assortment
Tools: Cricut Artiste Collection, Bone Folder, Waterbrush, Liquid Glass, 3D Foam Tape

Now, hop on over to to {Georgia's Blog} to check out her fabulous Christmas card! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to see some of the fabulous NEW products in our Autumn/Winter 2012 Idea Book. If you get lost along the way, the complete list of participants is here

Stamp of the Month Blog Hop {Live Out Loud}

It's time once again for our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month, we are featuring July's Stamp of the Month, Live Out Loud, set of 8.

If you've come from {Elizabeth's Blog}, you're on the right path. We have over 50 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

(click on the photo for a larger image)

I LOVE this month's stamp set! The fun fonts and quotes/sayings are fabulous and PERFECT for my boys.  I decided to pair this stamp set up with our wonderful Victory Level 2 Paper Packet, as well as the stamp set from the Victory Workshop on the Go.  The layout sketch is from Studio J - our online digital scrapbook program.  Since I've used this layout several times before, it was easy for me to get measurements and recreate it with paper.  The circles and quarter-circle were cut using the Cricut AP cartridge. The "Live Out Loud" quote fit perfectly in the small Bamboo circle on the left page. I added in a little twill ribbon (retired) and a few of the Milepost Shapes stars, and finished it off with a few Colonial White Brads.

Supplies
Stamps - Live Out Loud (SOTM) and Victory WOTG
Inks - Chocolate
Accessories - Twill Ribbon (retired), Milepost Shapes, Colonial White Brads
Now, please "hop" on over to {Annette's Blog} to check out her fabulous artwork! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! The complete list of participants is here.

Don't forget, the Stamp of the Month is only available until July 31st! Contact your consultant, or click here!
Everyone who purchases the Stamp of the Month from me is invited to my FREE Stamp of the Month workshop next month where we will create a fabulous project or two using Live Out Loud. Check my calendar for dates and times!

Until next time...

Stamp of the Month Blog Hop {Life is Tweet}

It's time once again for our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month, we are featuring June's Stamp of the Month, Life is Tweet, set of 15.

If you've come from {Brae's Blog}, you're on the right path. We have about 55 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

I'll be honest, this month's stamp set is totally not me.  I ended up CASE'ing one of the cards from the ideas and inspirations on my website.  I just used what I had readily available (if you could see my disaster area, you would understand "readily available").  The card base is cut with the Cricut AP using [square4] and the card layer at 4 inches. The Colonial White piece is cut at 3 1/2" using [square4], then stippled with Desert Sand ink using the Stipple Brush from the Texture Tools.  The Lagoon strip is stamped with the border in Lagoon ink.  The flower is also cut with the Cricut AP - [flower5] at 2 1/4 inches. I added in a Foundry Pin Clip and a Flutter Paper Shape inked with Cocoa ink.

Supplies

Now, please "hop" on over to {Jen's Blog} to check out her fabulous artwork! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! The complete list of participants is here.

Don't forget, the Stamp of the Month is only available until June 30th! Contact your consultant, or click here!
Everyone who purchases the Stamp of the Month from me is invited to my FREE Stamp of the Month workshop next month where we will create a fabulous project or two using Friendship Bouquet. Check my calendar for dates and times!

Stamp of the Month Blog Hop {Potential}

It's time once again for our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month, we are featuring March's Stamp of the Month, Potential, set of 8.

If you've come from {Sarita's Blog}, you're on the right path. We have about 60 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

I have to thank fellow Consultant, Vicki Wizniuk for this month's project inspiration.  She posted a layout similar to this on our Consultant boards and a light bulb finally went off in my head! This was a particularly hard stamp set for me to work with.

The layout sketch is from our retired You & Me Special from May 2011, modified to fit 4x6 photos. I used the new Stella papers - LOVE these colors!

Here's a few close ups and some creative notes....

I used the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to cut the title at 1 inch. The cartridge also coordinates with this month's stamp set. The circle is cut at 1 3/4", then the accent is stamped in Lagoon ink. I matted it on a Creme Brulee fancy circle, also cut with the Cricut AP cartridge - Shift + Decorative Layer [Circle3] at 2 1/4". The phrase "Anything is possible" is stamped in Tulip ink. The flourishes are stamped in Desert Sand ink.

To finish off the page, I added a Bling Button to the center of the stamped accent.
I used the small Creme Brulee paper flowers from the new Paradise Paper Flowers collection, then added a small Glitter Button from the Bohemian Assortment to the center of those.

For the left page, I again used the Cricut AP cartridge and cut journaling box using [Shape8] at 3 inches in Creme Brulee, and 2 1/2 inches in Colonial White. I also stamped the flourishes in Desert Sand again and added the Creme Brulee flowers and Glitter Buttons.

Supply List
Cricut AP: [Circle1] - 1 3/4" (pg. 21), Shift + Decorative Layer [Circle 3] - 2 1/4" (pg. 41), [Shape8] - 2 1/2" & 3" (pg. 47), plus the title "Together" (font layer).

Now "Hop" on over to {Susan's Blog} to check out her fabulous cards! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! The complete list of participants is here.

Don't forget, the Stamp of the Month is only available until March 31st! Contact your consultant, or click here!

Until next time...

Workshop on the Go – Wonderland Layouts

I actually finished my sample pages BEFORE our monthly workshop on Sunday! I LOVE these papers, even though we’ve had no measurable snow to mention here in Southern Indiana, but I’m sure it’s coming.
We’ll be creating 3, 2-page layouts using the gorgeous Wonderland Level 2 Papers and coordinating stamps and accessories.
Here’s the featured layout from the WOTG Brochure:
Wonderland Featured Layout I did modify the layout just a tad. Instead of the rounded tabs, I used half-scallops.
The piece of paper sticking on the left page is actually a piece off of my glue dots roll. I forgot about sliding a picture under the chocolate dot ribbon and put adhesive on the entire length of the paper :( Thankfully, I had a scrap piece of the wax paper from my glue dots to save me having to pull it up later to add a picture.
Here’s a couple of close ups of the details:

Wonderland Featured Layout Close Up
Wonderland Featured Layout Close Up 2
Wonderland Featured Layout Close Up 3
Here’s the second layout we will be doing:
Wonderland Magic Layout This layout is from Magic – Secret. Again, I modified it slightly from the layout shown in the WOTG brochure. Instead of using the coffee cups from the stamp set, I added in a couple of Top Coats Icing Overlays (now sold out).
I always have a selection of stamps, and since this group usually orders the My Stickease to go with the papers, there are several options for personalizing your layouts.
Here are a couple of close ups of the details:
Wonderland Magic Layout Close Up Wonderland Magic Layout Close Up 2
The third layout we will be doing is from Imagine – Powerful Trio. This layout is also featured in the Autumn/Winter Idea Book (pg. 58).
Wonderland Imagine Layout Again, I modified it slightly from the one shown in the Idea Book, but only to work with what papers were left after creating the first two layouts from the WOTG Guide. There is NO stamping on this layout! I did use Grey Flannel and Twilight inks to sponge the edges of various papers and stickease.  I also added in a couple of the Top Coats Icing Overlays.
Here are some close ups of the detail:
Wonderland Imagine Layout Close Up As there was no Chocolate cardstock left, I used Grey Flannel under the My Stickease snowflakes. I inked the edges in Twilight. The pieces are also cut with our Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge. The large petal is cut at 2 1/4” with Shift + <Flower7> (pg. 39), the small snowflake is cut at 1 1/2” with <Circle3> (pg. 41). I cut one of the 4x6 Top Coats Icing Overlays apart to create the border across the top of the left page. There is a slight overlap to make the patterns match up. To adhere them, I slid them under the Grey Flannel Snowflake paper. This allows them to lift up to slide an 8x10 photo in and have a beautiful border on your photo.
Wonderland Imagine Layout Close Up 2 On the right page, I added a small Top Coats Icing Overlay to the center of the snowflake stickease. I also inked the edges of the stickease snowflakes, quote, and journal circle. The snowflakes and quote are popped up with 3D Foam Tape. I used the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge to cut the photo mats. The two outside mats are cut at 3 1/2” with <Square5> (pg. 63) and the middle mat is cut at 3 1/2” with <Square4> (pg. 53).
Paper Only Kit - $15.00

  • 1 sheet of Twilight Cardstock ($0.49)

Stamp of the Month Blog Hop {Little Reminder}

It's time once again for our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month, we are featuring January's Stamp of the Month, Little Reminder, set of 25.

Click on image for a larger view.

If you've come from {Amy's Blog}, you're on the right path. We have almost 60 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

Since December got super hectic very quickly for me this year, I did not get my Christmas cards done.  I think it's the first year in the last 14 that I have not done any Christmas cards.  When the 19th rolled around and I still hadn't started, I decided to concede defeat and came up with a plan to do New Year's cards instead. January's Stamp of the Month is the PERFECT set for New Year's!

I love how the images in this set coordinate well with the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge! The large month's circle is cut at 2 1/2" inches using [circle1]. The smaller dates circle is cut at 1 3/4 inches using [circle1]. I cut the little banner pieces at 2" using [banner1].   I started off using the Delightful Dots pattern from Wishes and then modified it slightly.  The "12" is embossed in Cocoa embossing powder for a little extra flair. I also placed bitty sparkles in between the months on the larger circle.

For a little added dimension, I used 3D Foam tape to pop the date late off the month layer.  I added a little dark chocolate striped grosgrain ribbon to finish off the card.

Supply List
Pattern: Wishes - Delightful Dots (modified)

Wonderland Die Cut Christmas Card Workshop

As promised, here is the Wonderland version of yesterday's Christmas Cards.

(Click on picture for a larger view.)

Again, inspired by the cards on page 76 of the Autumn/Winter Idea Book. This time, I used the Wonderland Level 2 Papers and coordinating stamps.  I don't actually have the stamps that I have in mind to use with these cards, so I improvised with what I do have until I get my order on Friday. I will try to repost cards with the stamps I intend to use for the workshop. I did play with a new technique that was shared by fellow consultant, Nancy Klaphake.  I used my Cricut and the Art Philosophy Cartridge to emboss the snowflake before cutting it out. Yes, you read that right - you CAN emboss with the Cricut and the Art Philosophy Cartridge!  I'll share the technique details in another post (read, I wasn't smart enough to take pics as I went - lol!)
.
For this workshop, you'll create 10 of each card - giving you 20 beautiful cards ready for sending Christmas wishes. I've got a few different ways for you to participate, depending on what works for you!

  • Attend one of my workshop dates in Washington, Indiana.
    • Monday, November 21st, 9am to 12pm (noon), EST
    • Monday, November 21st, 6pm to 9pm, EST
    • Check my calendar for future dates. More will be added if necessary.
  • Host this workshop yourself for you and your friends and I'll come and teach it. You will also earn hostess rewards (FREE Close To My Heart products) once you have sold at least 6 kits. Choose an Open Date from my calendar and contact me to schedule your workshop!
  • You can participate long-distance. Just add $7 to the purchase price to cover postage (Priority Mail) and me stamping all necessary items before I ship them to you.
Each kit makes 20 cards. Do you need more than 20 cards?  Check out the 50 card option at the bottom. Your cards will vary, but all will be made with the Wonderland Level 2 Paper Packet. You are only required to purchase the basic workshop kit in order to participate. If you'd like to order other supplies, it is totally up to you. If you are considering hosting a workshop, those extras will also count towards your FREE Hostess Rewards!
