It's a long way to the top ~ Scrap that Song

Another Month , gee it will be Christmas before we can turn around ( sorry guys)
Well a new month means a new challenge over at Scrap That Song http://scrapthatsong.blogspot.com.au/ and the theme this month is AC/DC's Song "It's a long way to the top" . Now you can interpret this anyway you like.
I have scrapped a page about when we were in a beautiful little village in France , there was this statue overlooking the valley. A young local boy beckoned us to follow him, little did we know that you could actually walk inside the staute ! Up a VERY narrow and steep staircase ( I had visions of my hubby getting stuck !) once you got to the top, under the statues arm   was a little window you could look out and the view...... amazing! It was a long way to the top , but it was worth it.

I made a travel bottle top

and of course some texture

Thanks for popping by, and I hope we have inspired you to join us in the challenge this month. Would really love to see what inspires you with the words "It's a long way to the top"

Wati

Afternoon lovelies,

I thought I might just scrape this challenge in for Another Freaky Scrappy Challenge http://another-freaking-scrappy-challenge.blogspot.com.au/

On our recent trip to Navutu Fiji we met the most beautiful friendly people on earth and Wati was one of them. I had to scrap this photo in brights, like the man himself, bright, happy and flamboyant. Wati is such an entertainer, a fabulous dancer and lots of fun.
The weather is overcast and windy here today so the layout is even brighter IRL

The flowers are for the Hibiscus Flowers Wati always wore in his hair. He told us that some Americans asked could they touch his hair and when they did they said "Oh it feels like Broccoli", so he says he has Broccoli Hair.
One day while we were there he had several bright red Hibiscus flowers in his hair and I commented how nice they looked , Wati said he had his Hibiscus Melbourne Cup hat on

It is a long weekend here in NSW so I hope you all have a lovely weekend , even if the weather is crappy.
Wishing you Love and Sunshine

Forever Together, Scrap Therapy Sketch Challenge

Evening,

When I saw this Sketch on the lovely  Lizzy Hill's  http://lizzyhill12.blogspot.com.au/ Blog I knew I wanted to do this, I love the sketch over at Scrap Therapy http://scraptherapysessions.blogspot.com.au/

Isn't this an awesome sketch

I am really enjoying scrapping vintage photos in this style. I have scrapped a photo of my Mum and Dad on their wedding day. My Mum is 95 tomorrow.

The badge is from Scrap Friends http://scrapfriends.com.au/ as it the Hueys Mask

I have used a Prima Journalling Card under the photo, which I have used a craft knife to cut around the flower and small butterfly as I didn't want to cover them and then slip the photo in. A bit of muslin with a key stamped on it from the lovely Jess and Kaiser resin flowers and a Prima flower.

I am really loving the Jenni Bowling soft blue paint dabber  (Soap Powder) from Scrap Sanity http://scrapsanity.com.au/ at the moment.
Thank You for popping by, please let me know you called

Scruffy ~ CSI and Once Upon A Sketch Challenge

Once again CSI and Once Upon A Sketch have combined for a challenge

I love the colours used and have decided I need to take more Portrait photo's as most of the sketches seem to be portrait and I take way more landscape, so there's a challenge for me. So I have turned the sketch to suite my photo's of our little, old dog , Scruffy.

I have the birds and flowers as part of the evidence as well as some misting in green that doesn't show up that well, dog or pet accent.... the little paw prints.

I also have hidden journalling

He is quite Unique :)

He is very cute in his scruffy little way
I love him to bits anyway.

Yesterday we went for a drive to the Japanese Gardens in Cowra. Such a lovely drive with all the canola fields

Fields of Gold

And the gardens are a treat

Must run, going out tonight and running late

Wishing you Sunshine and Laughter

SWEET AS ~ Scrap friends Colour Challenge

Hello lovely friends,

I did this layout for the colour challenge over at Scrap friends

\
Pretty yummy colours I think you would have to agree :)
I found this photo of when I was a little girl and I must say I am impressed as how cute I look, I mean look at that dress, not to mention the bow on top of my head hehe

I smeered gesso under the photo to make it pop a bit more and the smudges of blue are because I stupidly spilled the blue paint and I can't bare to waste supplies I just put it on my fingers ( well it was all over them to anyway) and wiped across the paper in different spots. What was still left I did the same in my sketch book to use later. I also used it on the stamped image tag that I made. I mounted the tag on frayed Canvas and sewed around it with Orange thread.
Added some flowers, thank you Lizzy for the light blue one and added a light blue brad and a Satin seam  ribbon bow. I've tucked journalling in the side with the where and who I am with and all finished.
I don't know why I have to get my creative flow at about 11pm at night, because I can't walk away once I start and I am up till all hours :( Not so good the next day)
I have found I really enjoy scrapping old photos.
Anyway enough rambling, hope you are all having a spectacular day. I will leave you with this photo I took at Nelson's Bay a few weeks ago

CSI and Once Upon A Sketch Challenge

HELLO LOVELIES

CSI and Once Upon A Sketch have the new challenge up

I must say that I was a little daunted as they are not colours I would normally use, but hey that's why they are called challenges right?
When I first started my layout I wasn't liking it, but I stuck with it and in the end I think I am happy with it and like it :)

I have turned the sketch to suite my landscape photo. The layout is of a sweet French couple whom we met on the island of Navutu. I really liked them, they had lovely natures and joined in everything and were totally loving life. Even though we are old enough to be their parents we enjoyed their company.  Frederick is the spitting image of our second sons best mate , I missed them when they left to head to Sydney for the next part of their holiday.

A bit of texture and a button from Scrapfriends

Hope you are having a fabulous week and the sun is shining for you.
I have been doing pretty well with photo a day this month, just been forgetting to post them here. This one was "What's in your fridge" I had left over Lemon Meringue Pie......Lizzy :)

This one was for " Together"

Bye for now x

Step by Step Page over at Home and Scrapped

Happy weekend everyone :)
Last night Heather http://heather-stormscraps.blogspot.com.au/ hosted a step by step over at Home and Scrapped http://homeandscrapped.ning.com/ it is a friendly site with a lot always going on, I must try and visit more, if only there were more hours in a day .
Any way I was totally disorganised and scrambling as the prompts literally went up.
I was then wondering why in the hell I had picked the Pattern Papers that I did as I was having trouble choosing photo's that would work. I had photos from the Japanese Gardens, but do you think I had any portrait ones that were OK or would work..... no!
Anyway I chose this photo of my DD and Niece with me , I ended up cutting the plain background Paper down and adding it to the brighter green PP to make it pop more, so I kinda added an extra step for me :)

The journalling is slid in the side and says

Chelsea my beautiful daughter, love you to bits, so proud of you, your spirit and determination are to be admired.
Tori you will always have a place in my heart. When I helped look after you for a time, I would get you ready for school, do your hair nice ( you hated having your hair done) then I would drop you at school & watch you walk off pulling your hair out as you went! Now you are a young lady that loves to dress up, have your hair looking nice and all girly things. Love you both xxx

Button from Scrapfriends and gorgeous little Kaisercraft flowers

Now I need to go and do some gardening and cleaning up. Kim and Annette are coming scrapping here tomorrow :)

CSI AND ONCE UPON A SKETCH CHALLENGE ~ MA

Afternoon !
Hope you are able to enjoy the lovely sunshine today.
Well two awesome challenge sites Once Upon a Sketch and CSI colour inspirations have joined forces this month to give us four challenges!
The first is to use these colours and elements
combined with the sketch

At first I wasn't to sure about the colours, but then I received my Teresa Collins "Vintage" papers that I had ordered in the post and they worked perfectly :)
The evidence I have used a curved shape , misting, fibre ~ the Doily, I have a leaf on the page, tone on tone.
The Testimony I have written a letter to my Grandmother which is in the little envelope tucked in the side.
The journalling says
Dear Ma,
When I was a little girl and you were very old you lived with us. It is a shame that my memory of you is that you had a grumpy disposition, you used to poke me with your walking stick! I do have a memory of being at your home "The Glen" and skipping down happily to the mail box. I had a hat on with knitted tassels at the back and I was pretending I had a pony tail and it was swishing to and fro, then a magpie swooped and pecked me on the head, lucky my ponytail hat protected me some what
Love Dolly xxx
and here is my layout

and some closies ~ the little envelope with my letter inside

Thank you for calling by, please let me know you were here
