Christian Quote ATC's

Here are 2 ATC's I made for the Christian Quote ATC swap on Swap-Bot. They were sent to my swap partners in Texas and Oregon.
I used the following materials to make these cards:
  • Cardstock Paper
  • Magazine Clippings
  • Printer Paper and Ink for Quotes
  • Watercolors
  • Craft Glue
  • Gloss Finish
Last night we attended "Hats Off to Reading" at JJ's school. I took all the kids and they had a blast. First we ate a free dinner from the Olive Garden. Then we went to each designated classrooms and listened to stories read and re-enacted by the teachers. They were hilarious. Everyone was laughing the whole time. These teachers know how to tell a story. They are so talented. After the stories were read, we went back in the cafeteria to have the kids choose a free book for themselves to take home. JJ chose a joke book and HZ chose a peek-a-boo book. It was a good night out with the kids.

Traffic Sign ATC - International

Here is another Traffic Sign ATC I created for my swap partner from New York on Swap-Bot. I hosted this swap aso.... International version. You can see the swap here. I used stamps to create this card. I've never really used them before. It's not my best work, but I did give it a try and will try again.

Traffic Sign ATC

I hosted my first swap this week on Swap-Bot... "Traffic Sign ATC". It was fun creating this speed limit sign. My son loves anything road related and I thought this would be a great swap to create because of that. I didn't really see any ATC's of this theme online when I searched. There is another swap I'm hosting for international swappers... "Traffic Sign ATC - International". Come join. Lots of fun.

Autumn Leaves ATC Swap

I created this ATC and another one for the "Autumn Leaves" ATC swap on Swat-Bot. I totally forgot to scan the other card before I sent it off to my swap partner in California. It looks totally different than this one and it even has a quote on it that reads "Nothing remains Constant except for change itself". I thought that one was perfect for Autumn. Maybe I'll ask her to take a photo of it for me when she receives it. I sent the one pictured above to my swap partner in New Hampshire.

I created another card for my mother-in-law for her birthday. It was of a fairy and it read "Imagination". She absolutely loved it. We went to the Children's Museum to celebrate both of our birthdays. The kids had a blast. It was nice to have a good visit with them after the death of their son...my husband.

Collaged Fairy ATC's

Look at these ATC's. They are my best yet. I had sooo much creating these ones. It will be really hard to part from them... but I will. I created these ATC's for a fellow swapper from Belarus, on Swap-Bot for the Collaged Fairy ATC's swap. I'll be sending these out first thing Monday morning. When I looked at the address of my fellow swapper, I was dumbfounded as to where Belarus is located. So, I researched on the web to find out where this country is located and a little history of it. Click here to see what I found. Fascinating... I learn something new everyday.

Materials used:
  • Cardboard
  • Scrapbooking paper
  • Paper Dolls
  • Scrapbooking Stickers
  • Craft Glue
  • Pearl Finish
  • Medium Gloss Finish

Today... I'm another year older.

Autumn...

Autumn is my favorite season of the year. The beautiful colors of the leaves as they change... The sweet smells... The season I was born in....etc. Because of our wacky weather here this year, I saw some of the leaves changing colors last month. Can you believe it?!! Wow... Talk about being confused.

Well... To get an early start on this season, I joined the Autumn ATC Swap! at Swap-Bot.com. I had a blast creating these cards. I drew the leaves and little girl, cut them out, and glued them to the cards. The word Autumn on both cards are scrapbooking stickers. And the background is scrapbooking paper. The first one was sent to my swap partner in New Hampshire and the second one to Oregon. I can't wait to read their comments after recieving them.... and your comments after reading this post. :)

Have a wonderful day my blog readers....

Handmade Postcards

I created these postcards for my swap partners on Swap-Bot.com for the Handmade Postcard Swap. The postcard with the bird was sent to Lisa in France and the postcard with puppy and kitten was sent to Jennifer in California. They were made using cardboard, vintage postcard, wallies, scrapbooking stickers, paper flowers from another swap partner, craft glue, and gloss medium. I had so much fun creating and sending these postcards.

More ATC's

I created these ATC's for my swap partner on Swap-Bot.com in Virginia. It is the second series of the God Created... swap. I made these using cardboard, scrapbooking paper, scrapbooking stickers, calender cut-outs, watercolors, and craft glue. My son and daughter both loved the frog one.

I created these ATC's for my swap partner on Swap-Bot.com in Indiana. The first one is my partners' favorite number and the second one my favorite number. I made these using cardboard, scrapbooking paper, scrapbooking stickers, scrapbooking supplies, vintage paper dolls, watercolors, and craft glue. My daughter was attached to the baby doll ATC.

I'm Creating Again

Small steps... That's what I'm doing now to get back to the creating mode again. I collaged this postcard for my swap partner at Swap-Bot. At this website you sign up for swaps and send those items to your swap partner(s). I created this postcard for the Custom-made for YOU! postcard swap on August 5, 2010 and sent it to my swap partner in Singapore on August 6, 2010.

I used the following:
  • White Cardstock Paper for the back.
  • Pink and purple dolka-dot Scrapbooking Paper.
  • Dolly Dingle Paper Doll
  • Scrapbook Letter Stickers
  • Craft Glue
  • Gloss Medium & Varnish
If you want to visit Swap-Bot and/or my profile, just click on the graphic on the right of the page.

I had fun creating again after what life threw at me and my family this year.

(Special note: My husband commited suicide in July of this year after being separated from each other since November of 2009. I was devistated because I still loved him and he is the father of all my children. Now I'm just numb and angry.)

YAY! My Artwork is on Another Blog

My artwork is posted on The Plumber's Wife blog under the "Halloween Gift Guide #5". How exciting! This artwork piece is listed on my ETSY shop, PurpleSunet: Gifts Made With Love. She posted on the forum on the ETSY site asking us if we wanted our Halloween items to be showcased on her blog. Of course, I entered. I'm excited because this is the first time anything of mine was posted on another blog.

Have a wonderful Saturday! We are going to a Harvest Party at the Historic Museum and then taking our son to his basketball meet.

JJ's Collage

Here  is my son's finished collage. It was placed in a 5"x7" frame with the glass taken out. The people are JJ and his baby sister, HZ, holding hands. There is a jack-o'-lantern in the center, a far away airplane at the top, and an ant hill to the right. The background was created with tissue paper that has been watercolored. The whole masterpiece was created on a 5"x7" canvas panel.

His next projects is going to be a construction zone.

Have a wonderful day!

I've been working on some collages this week... The only thing I really can do with my sick daughter asleep in my arms. These projects are almost completed. Just need to place some finishing touches. When completed, these projects will be listed on my ETSY Shop.

Harvest Time

The following collage is a very special one. It was created by both my son and I. The idea came from a blog I follow, The Mama Dramalogues, titled Make it: Artsy Collage with your Child. We changed a couple of things. We used a canvas panel, tissue paper, and gloss instead of scrapbooking paper for the whole thing. We will use the original instructions for another project. This one I was teaching him how I create my collages so he can create his own from now on. Now, he begging to create more. All I need to do is buy more canvas panels. I will post his completed project when we are done.

Enjoy!

WIP - In Memory of Baby Zane - Collage

I started this project a few months after I miscarried my second child in January of 2008. At the time we have been TTC for 2.5 years. Two months after we lost Baby Zane, I conceived our daughter now. I will be completing this project to hang on our wall so we will never forget our little one in heaven.
Here is a poem I found that hit me on the heart level. I will be printing and framing this poem to be placed next to the collage.

I'll Never Know
By LisaMarie Emerle

How do I say goodbye ... when I didn't get to say hello?
I want so bad to keep you ... how do I let you go?
I have so many dreams, so much love I want to share
There's nothing I can do ...why is life unfair?
You're my perfect angel...I dreamed you long ago
I never got to hold you but it breaks my heart to let you go
The pain and confusion I feel inside
I can not explain...I can not describe
God will rock you in your cradle and watch you as you sleep
I will love you in my heart ... it's all I get to keep
you are blessed my child ... you're in heaven up above
You'll never be alone...you have Mommy & Daddy's love
Hush my little baby...you need not ever cry
You were always wanted!  I wish you didn't die
You'll be my sunshine in the daylight and the brightest star at night
Reach for God's hand and go to the light
I would rather endure the pain of losing you right now
Then the thought of you suffering thru life...we'll get thru somehow
I was blessed to have you briefly...even though I have to let you go
I wish I knew the reason but I guess I'll never know
